You get pretty good goat dishes including curries in India.

Dishes claiming to be lamb are actually goat. Only if it is called “imported lamb” will it ever have had even the briefest relationship with a sheep.

West Indian restaurants usually sell curry goat. Not as spicy as Indian curry but makes a nice change, especially with jerk chicken and rice and peas.

They were going to buy one of the kiosks, but they were quoted £2.4 million for it!

Think I’d prefer a good Jamaican curried goat to a burger or kebab.

This is head and shoulders the best topic being discussed on this forum right now. Best drink to go with curried goat, any takers 🤔

Hoegaarden, which is a traditional brewed Belgian wheat beer is a recommended beer although I haven’t tried it personally. It’s meant to be very good with curried goat and is sometimes drunk with a slice of lemon or orange. That’s interesting, might give it a go(at) sometime in the future.

In this weather, the main requirement is that the beverage is very well chilled. Many of the spritz type pale ales would suffice, or a decent quality lager. The stronger Balticas are also worth seeking out.
Goat? I can recommend a middle-eastern ‘rip n dip’ after the beast has been cooked in the ground for several hours.

    “Curry Goat
Curry goat is a staple of both Caribbean and Asian cuisine, and although in the past goat has been an unpopular meat in the UK it’s increasing in popularity. The strong flavour of goat and the spices which accompany it call for a sweet, smooth wheat beer such as the Muntons Connoisseur’s Wheat Beer (4.5%).”

Maybe we could get curried goat introduced to the GP menu on matchday. Viva la curried goat matchday experience.

Jamaicans certainly have some great goat recipes, as for smoking it, it’s not my understanding about what Jamaicans like to smoke.

Reminds me of the famous quote from American baseball player Tug McGraw of the Mets, whose biography is titled “Screwball,” was asked if he preferred grass or AstroTurf: “I don’t know, I’ve never smoked AstroTurf.”

Barnsley Bitter, a well remembered advertising feature in the old Iron blue and white printed programmes of the sixties.

Was in town the other day and see Wilsons chippy has reopened. Seekh Kebab wrap and chips was my pre match meal for years, followed by a pint at the Berkeley(Changed to Class 6 when it shut).

The Smoking Goat says ‘tikka’ look at the new squad. It doesn’t ‘matar’ if we are relegated this season as ‘methi’(nks) we will win the NLN after having had a’Chaat’ with Jimbo Deano.
Good ‘korma’ next season, ‘Naan’ of them will be able to live with us.
We’ll make them all look ‘poori’
    😂

Hull brewery. Bitter 1/9d per pint, 1/10d for keg. Went on a brewery visit to Hull, the stuff they served in their on-site pub (Sylvester Arms maybe?) was better than The Bridge. Mind you they always said that the best Barnsley Bitter never left Barnsley.
