It doesn’t seem as if anyone is in quite the position to lay all this out bare, just give a brief overview. I look forward to the gory details.

Indeed, I am hoping to see part 2 of the infamous David Hilton article in The Athletic.

Indeed, I am hoping to see part 2 of the infamous David Hilton article in The Athletic.

I mean, I think they know what’s what and could say it in detail – but things haven’t been completely lawyered yet, which is an essential stage.

Only found out the other day that The Athletic is owned by the NY Times. Assume they have access to top lawyers.

With what was on his mind there was no chance of getting to the correct answer.

If we had a £1 for every porky we have been fed these last 11 years we could buy Wembley and pay to have it moved here.

In hindsight its pretty obvious Hilton was and probably will continue to be a professional conman and frauster , put zero money into the club and robbed what ever he could along the way lie after lie before being exposed, i hope more comes out about this crook and at some point he gets his fingers burnt.

I expect The Athletic will still publish their second article at some point.

Matt Slater said on twitter yesterday that it’s not imminent, but they will return to the subject once the dust has settled.

If we’re still operating at a loss – how long have we got left before we close down?

Most clubs operate at a loss don’t they? Bit of a moot point. More to do with how you service the debt I’d have thought.

Do Guinevere and her knights of the round table have the means to clear / service the debt long term?

Course they’ve got the money or the clout to borrow, I mean why would you bring Ian Sharp to the board other than for is money.

    Scunny boy?
    Scunny supporter?
Have you got nothing better to say, you clearly have issues with both Ian Sharp and Simon Elliott. Jealousy maybe?

Me and you are probably both Scunny boys and supporters, but i doubt we will be invited on to the board though if they did I wouldn’t be asking for any money back like Ian has. So what does Ian have to offer other than his financial clout behind him?

Asked for repayment of loan from Hilton (who wouldn’t) but no indication that he is pressing for repayment currently. Directors bring different things to the board (skills in marketing, legal knowledge, business acumen etc) but also, of course, money, much needed by most clubs, especially ours at the moment. I doubt there is a long queue of people waiting to ‘invest’ in The Iron, be grateful for those that are.

‘Servicing the debt’ is a meaningless concept until we know what the % is.
4% would be awesome but 14% terrifying.

Outstanding debt aside… it’d be interesting to know if we are breaking even yet?

I am grateful for anyone putting money in, but that’s what i expect from directors, and much better imo than just a single owner.

The question isn’t how much Hilton put into the club, but instead how much he took out of it.

Unless the squad have agreed a 50% pay cut, or the crowds are going to double- the answer is probably no.

It’s going to be almost impossible to know because Hilton cooked the books for so many months. No real way of knowing what income and outgoing looked like — when he paid players in the spring, it was all literally coming out of his personal account. So clearly, there were big transfers to his own accounts going on.

Hilton bought a club with some money in the bank, cleared out staff, didn’t pay players sometimes, pensions ever, or taxes this fall. The damn photocopier got repossessed for a time! Whatever came in was not going out, that’s for sure.

It didn’t stop some backing him to the hilt, with added insults and threats, some on this board..
