What is The Trust doing to help our plight? I think one thing grey said previously was that they didn’t want to intervene whilst the deal was trying to be thrashed out. But surely they should be talking to supporters and trying to help save our beloved Scunthorpe United. Otherwise what is the point of having a Trust. There must be around 1500 loyal hard-core fans at least who want to help but The Trust are too quiet. Lincoln City supporters saved their Club.So c’mon The Iron Trust what are you doing and going to do as nothing is not the answer.

January 7, 2023 at 10:29 am #252123Well I did, and therein lies the problem!
£10 for life membership. They’re not going to swell the coffers on that paltry sum are they?
No funding, no action. It’s as simple as that. An email newsletter each week and that’s it!
I think they need to look at online action groups like Avaz & 38 Degrees and see how they go about campaigning.
However, it’s a Catch 22 situation. Campaigns need funding and money is tight. I’d probably commit to £2/3 per month on a standing order, but others wouldn’t. And let’s face it, you want to see something done with your money and it needs committed individuals with relevant skills to effect that.
January 7, 2023 at 10:33 am #252124Always amazes me it is always somebody else’s job to do something.
Why don’t you NLI’s organise a campaign and get all the supporters clubs involved, and maybe our club president too!

January 7, 2023 at 10:42 am #252127That’s fine NI but they have such a visible presence every home game at the corner ticket office nearly every one goes past them, why aren’t they coming with a common agreed stance for fans to rally behind and verbally putting it out there no funding needed there, instead of just stood there trying to flog their wares.

January 7, 2023 at 10:43 am #252129I agree ironing but I couldn’t do it alone. We are members of the Trust and would gladly give our time to help in any way we can. Surely the Trust should be taking the lead and I’m sure that supporters would follow.
January 7, 2023 at 10:57 am #252131It’s a bit like joining a union ironking you pays your money but let someone else front up it works quite well imo, even though the union members might not want to be involved at the front they are the ones who give the front man the power that’s how most organizations and committee’s work. It’s just the way of the world ironking good model and no need to change it.
January 7, 2023 at 11:01 am #252133AWG – if you believe anything can be done without funding you are incredibly naive.
Trades Unions take money out of your wages for membership don’t they?
Maybe selling their stuff is an attempt (even if you think it’s a pathetic one) to increase funding.
As for a common stance for fans to rally behind. Even if the Trust came up with one some would disagree with it.
As I say, you need people with recognised campaigning skills, not a football version of the Women’s Institute.
January 7, 2023 at 11:09 am #252140They did well to keep going as we had moron fans saying we don’t need”only clubs in trouble need a trust” or want a trust ,a chairman who was openly hostile .Now we have the same fans fans expecting them to be a powerful force . It’s been proven now that we as fans have to back a trust and make it a genuinely powerful organisatio ,the usual apathy of iron fans made them what they are .
They got a fan on the board which was a major coup with this owner who stated that fans bring no money tot he board.Even though he was a bit of a patsy in some eyes it’s a good thing that we may need to battle hard to get ever again. -
