How much longer do ordinary people in Britain ,a democracy, have to put up with this disgusting system?
Until the people finally say we need to change the system and put in place something that is fairer and democratically elected. The guy who gave the thumbs up for this latest ridiculous undefendable abuse of honours list power has just resigned this evening as an MP for been found of lying to Parliament whilst Prime Minister. Sums up the whole sorry shit show this country finds itself in after thirteen years of dire pathetic self centered Government.
Apparently he may be coming back in the future, well that shows what a delusional idiot he is but it’s good news for Labour as a massive wedge will now be driven between waring factions in the Tory party.
Some of them have been acting like they’re a Lord for years!
We don’t need a second chamber
We don’t need a second chamber
We certainly don’t need a second chamber in its current form but an assembly democratically elected ( say every five years) and consisting of a 100 members, rather like the US Senate, would provide a buffer for consideration of bills going through Parliament just to run the rule over the small print and consider possible amendments. It doesn’t hurt to have a watchful eye looking over certain things being passed that could prove detrimental to the British people further down the line IMO.
Aye. Surely with some of the rushed through parliament over the last few years, the value of a second chamber has been demonstrated. It’s the unelected nature of it that is archaic.
