YouTube suggested this to me this morning, I’ve never seen it before. Narrated by John Staff, with plenty of archive material and chunks of apparently random matches:
Some great happening for our once great little club, I attended some of these games, but it is a very good job that the history of our club has not included the period between 2018 and 2022, this video would probably have been “x” rated, it is good to see the construction taking place of GP, but there is no showing of our two new Stadiums, or the refurbishment of GP or the 160 apartments built near the car park ha ha! or our sad return to non-league status, again thanking Mr Peter Swann!!!!
I’ve seen it Ferrite 👍. A good watch for Iron fans of a certain vintage!
Was hugely amused by the way Staffy looked then compared to today lol. Mind you, I’ve not worn too well….

How many of these from 1985/6 would have pushed their way into the current squad, I wonder? – Some were long in the tooth but – all the same …
Paul Gregory was a decent enough GK but far too short in stature. Rory far superior.

Apart from swapping a nylon suit for a donkey jacket and getting a bit thinner on top, I don’t think he’s changed that much at all!
Re your list of players les, we could do with a few Andy Stevenson’s playing for us now. Local lad who gave everything and would sweat blood for the club. Not the most talented player on the books but very solid and dependable with a great never say die attitude. Always thought Alan Whitehead had a bit of class about him in the back line but quite a few of those players named on the list would have walked into this current team no problem whatsoever.
