Remember when they used to close the A18 between Berkeley Circle and the M181?

The land between the offices and the motorway belonged to the club before Swann came on board. It used to be used for open weekends when the club actually engaged with the fans.

    Yep.
So the one thing that Swann improved turns out to have been Wharton’s idea anyway.

Awaywego needs to put his Swann love in to one side and check his facts before posting eh, sounds about right.

Please go on Google put in “glanford park the history” you will then see a picture of glanny park before Swanny acquired the land behind that fence, where the trading ground is now. Then you can make your own mind up. But I guess some will never accept it.

I reckon Land Registry would be a better source rather than googling some phrase – I don’t know who owns it or what Swann has improved – but if that is his greatest achievement I think he’s still in debit by some massive margin.

Maybe we have reduced the number of arrests due to fan disorder as not many bother anymore?

    Pothole sizes have improved..

    I’m struggling now….

The question was one improvement, the training pitch was one. No more no less. I know it doesn’t fit with alot of posters narratives but you must get over it.

Didn’t the training ground field be used as a overspill car park in the past. Not a lot of need for one of them now.

You may think the training pitch is an improvement Awaywego but it definitely has not improved the football or the footballers and how they play. Ask fans which they would rather have, a training pitch at the ground or decent football and footballers and staying in the Football League. It doesn’t make any difference where they train, as proven when we were in the championship!

Jury still out on the facts about the training ground, oh by the way in the big scheme of things as to where we are today as a football club under Swann, who actually gives a f**k, we all know the reason the club is in dire straits ( money for nothing ) and it’s naff all to do with this training ground bullshit.

I understand you desperately want to grab onto any straw you can in defence of Swann but you are wrong, that land belonged to SUFC before Swann arrived, all he did was relocate the training ground, not improve it.

Was it so the “training ground injuries” would have a shorter distance to limp to the treatment room?

‘Swanny acquired the land next to the stadium and turned it into the training ground’

Clearly not more or less about improvements but an unfounded claim about land ownership! And naff all to do with ‘narratives’.

Very simplistic to say its a narrative some
posters have against Swann – you had to use Google to help you find a positive about the club you support.

No I remember it happing Ironawe2. But of course I used Google to find that photo, the best photo showing virtually all the original site can be found by googling “when Scunthorpe achieved one of their most important victory’s- without even playing” bit of an hollow victory for Swann in the end though I am sure we can all agree on. Well maybe not🤔

IF we are ever to get our ground back and save our club, then we have to get a rich foreign company or individual to buy it off Swann.

The word Jingyesteel springs to mind.

What are you on about??? Are you seriously suggesting that the land wasn’t used by Scunthorpe United before Swann arrived? If you are then I am here to tell you that you’re wrong! That land may not of been in the original plans when the ground was built but it belonged to the club before Swann arrived.

Does that mean we will rebrand as The People’s Republic of Scunthorpe FC 🤔😂

I was being sarcastic with awaywego Pat (as I’m sure he well knows), hence my refererence to Saddlergate (another fine mess he got himself in to). It’s just a bit of fun 🙄

Maybe not a ‘word’ but the name of the company that owns our steelworks. I would bet they have more money than the Swanna too.

It’s Jingye Steel UK holdings LK, so they can protect their money if things go tits up. You never see their money,in most cases it’s borrowed, turning it back to football the Glazier’s bought man utd without paying a penny of their own money.

    Nope.
    But Swann is worse.
One ran it as a hobby for his mates.
The other has run it into the ground.
Maybe our next owner might actually run it properly.
