I fear you’re right but I just cannot understand how fans of these clubs can go back now, not after this. Of course, I know people will go back, I just don’t understand it!

You wondered what Everton fans thought NI and I gave you a opinion from Everton fans I knew at the time. And my opinion on the events of Heysel ad Hillsborough. I showed respect the night of Heysel and swapped channels shame Liverpool couldn’t (wouldn’t).

Not on about that. Talking about your strange idea that the nation wanted Liverpool to win the cup so other teams rolled over.

    Nah! Don’t think so.

Surely there will be sanctions from the Prem for those six clubs?

    If not, why not?

Fair enough NI, it was just as I saw it at the time, and from someone who hates Liverpool with a passion I will go as far as to say maybe I was wrong on that.

It is traditional for the leaders of a failed coup to be put up against a wall and shot!

At the very least I’d like to see all 12 of them banned from European competition next season. But they won’t be.

We’ll get “unity” and “moving forward together”

    1) Lawyers

    2) It’s not really in the PL’s interest to take firm action against the clubs involved, it will damage their “product” (their word). Expect lots of fine words but little firm action.

So pleased this crap ” greed fest ” was nipped in the bud early by the game and in particular the fans all standing together and saying ” NO “. However the teams in the Prem should think about their own actions when it comes to greed and power, a stat from the excellent Brian Reade in the Mirror today reads that from a current TV deal of £8.65 billion for football, the Premier League voted to keep 93% of that deal for themselves. Hardly fair, democratic and totally selfish when only such a small amount left is distributed down the lower orders of football. The game needs better governance and fairer disribution of funds all the way down the chain if we are ever going to let clubs thrive and keep a strong backbone to our national game. The game never has or will start and end with the Premier League and its time they started to respond to that.

We must also not forget “Project Big Picture” which, if it had gone through, would have given the Big 6 a lot more power in a number of areas, like voting rights, money, vetoes, etc.

And the EFL came out in favour of that! So if that had gone through, the PL and EFL would have had little or no power to stop the super league from happening.

It’s time for massive reform. The current system isn’t working for the vast majority of clubs. Otherwise, this super league plan will come back round again and maybe next time they won’t be quite so disorganised.

‘and in particular the fans all standing together and saying ” NO “.’

Yes. And let’s hope this is the start of more of them doing more for EFL clubs by taking a stand when it’s not just an issue that directly effects them. Ferrite’s point in the OP I believe. Flying pigs, but I live in hope.

It’s certainly true that the lack of solidarity among English football fans is why we’ve been so taken for granted compared to, say, German fans, who actually stick together and stand up for their rights.

I realise this is a bit rich for me to write after laughing at PL fans at the start of the week but – ultimately – it is the way we need to go.

Just awaiting BPG to come on and say having fan majority ownership as in the case of some clubs in Germany is a Marxist threat.

The big clubs still trying to get there way, The FA, EFL, offer to move the playoffs from Wembley just so city and Chelsea can play the champions lge final there, lots of lower lge players haven’t had the chance to play there and there dream might come to nothing. Hope Uefa go for Portugal instead if Istanbul isn’t good enough.

‘Cos like there isn’t any other modern stadia in London? Spurs, Arsenal?

They could play it up here at SJP for that matter. And if each club are only getting 4,000 tickets Leicester or Derby would be big enough.
