Giving poor tools to an incompetent gives you 19% possession and a hammering every week, passing those poor tools to someone who’s competent gives you 60 % possession and still a loss from time to time. Blame the clowns who supply the tools !!
January 1, 2022 at 5:47 pm #220300At least we know there are worse teams than us, now wether we can overhaul them is a different matter, at least the effort was there, the ref was shite, deffo should have had 1 pen but Howard would have probably saved, commands his box far more than Rory.
January 1, 2022 at 5:50 pm #220301Didn’t deserve to lose today IMO but we only had three shots on target and we deffo need a striker, possibly two. Would sell Loft in a heartbeat because he’s not consistent enough or fit enough judging by today’s game. Not too down hearted because things are getting better under Hill and we still have time to turn the season around with a few decent additions. Deffo not a time to panic because the manager knows what he needs and I think he will get the players in he wants and get them playing his way. Keep the faith you moaning twats and a Happy New Year to one and all.

January 1, 2022 at 5:56 pm #220305We lacked a bit of forward thinking (and playing) creative type today. The result didn’t reflect the play but fine margins (Davis giving possession away, Hackney clearing for a corner,
O’Malley should’ve been managing the situation) often lend themselves to results like this.Green had a decent match
but should’ve been given the ball more –
clear first half that he had beating of player. Hippo – when he picks the ball up in centre mid somebody needs to tell
him he needs to look around
more rather than play the way he faces – Hill alluded to such play in interview.Need at least 4 in to add quality to midfield,
strike force up front and Central defence. Loft can go for me2 users thanked author for this post.
January 1, 2022 at 6:03 pm #220307After having a season ticket for over 30yrs I did not buy one this season, however after the appointment of Hill I bought a half season and went today,Some of the players I have not seen live before.I thought Davis looked OK as did Green,Taft is a liability,Loft and Bunn need not have been there because they contributed nothing. But on saying this we did not deserve to lose

Good point, commanding your box is an important factor when it comes to saving penalties.

Ha ha ha! I do hope that was said in jest!!

January 1, 2022 at 6:30 pm #220312Really disappointed with the result.
Terrible communication at the back put us 1-0 down and never had confidence we would get the 2 goals despite having the lions share of possession. Poor decision making in the final third throughout, Howard never really looked troubled.Carlisle were another poor side and we’ve gifted them a result today. Need to get some quality in this month

January 1, 2022 at 7:58 pm #220320Well despite the defeat not many above broke away.
Loved Mr Hills post match, what a difference he made me laugh several times whereas mr cox just ground you down !!

January 1, 2022 at 8:19 pm #220321I think Mr Hill is more astute than we imagine, taking off Loft and replacing him with the young chap he did was surely a tongue-in-cheek dig at the person who supply’s the tools he’s working with.

January 1, 2022 at 8:20 pm #220322I’m getting fed up too the back teeth of poor teams coming to Glanford Park and leaving with far more points than they deserve. My optimism has all but been extinguisher after that performance. Good-by Mr Loft a total waste of space today. Incoming recruits need to be up to speed and far more gifted than a lot of the white we turn out most matches. I pray you come up with the goods Mr. Hill but you’ve got your work cut out.

January 1, 2022 at 8:28 pm #220323If I had to describe our team today it would be a team that still believes it’s not the winning but the “ taking part” that matters, as they were told in the under nines.

January 1, 2022 at 8:35 pm #220327The worst display of passing a football I’ve ever seen. Carlisle had 34% possession and about half of that was down to us giving them the ball. Also the number of times we passed to our own player when he was in a worse position than the passer was ridiculous. Plenty to work on Keith!!

January 1, 2022 at 8:53 pm #220328Loft sadly went back to the old Loft we’ve been accustomed to seeing. One of the players we’ve signed on loan is an u23 striker from a championship club according to Hill.
I think the other deal we’ve done is extending Hackney’s loan.
Desperately need at least 2 new strikers and a more creative CM player. Davis stepped in today for Onariase who’s got covid and was shit again.
Green looked really dangerous at RB, he has more belief now in that he’s using his pace and ability to go past players. Carlisle were complete dog shit but we know that this team’s work in the final 3rd is usually shit, we haven’t got enough to break teams down.

January 2, 2022 at 12:32 am #220357Well I really did think that we were on a three point win today, but the old, old tale, you cannot win matches if you do not have any players that can find the net. McDonald was a big treat for Carlisle, why this was so God knows, it was his FIRST GOAL he has scored in six years!!!
Order Loft a taxi, and get rid of him, we will never get a better chance if three clubs are supposedly after him.
Lucky today, because only Carlisle in the bottom five managed a win, but we need some wins ourselves, as soon as possible.1 user thanked author for this post.
January 2, 2022 at 1:01 am #220358He’s a CB with height, they always have a good chance of scoring if the delivery is half decent.
Slack marking always helps from the opposing team too !
January 2, 2022 at 1:06 am #220360Disappointing today, I felt we edged the first half without really testing their keeper enough but second half was poor. Seemed quite happy in just keeping possession without any real idea on what to do with it, really laboured at times allowing them ample time to keep disciplined in their shape, their 2 centre halves won’t have much easier games all season then what they did today. Hackney played too deep to have an impact on the game, regularly picking the ball up on the half way line rather than in the pockets of space between their midfield and defence where he looked dangerous at Oldham, desperately need some creativity in midfield, missed Beestin today although he’s been a bit of a mixed bag this season overall. Not all doom and gloom but definitely a missed opportunity today to pick up points

January 2, 2022 at 1:24 am #220362Need a few strikers and a more creative CM. We may just have a chance then. Beestin would probably come in for Hackney because I can’t see Hill dropping Pugh.
Pugh’s not the greatest player in the world but covers a lot of ground and get’s the tackles in and Hippo’s been in such good form.
I don’t like Davis at the back. I can’t wait for Onariase to come back in. I may be being a bit harsh as he’s been out for 5/6 weeks but I just don’t rate him at all.

January 2, 2022 at 6:18 am #220366Carlisle had 33% possession but look at the shots at goal. When they had the ball they made it count. We had several shots first half but these were 30 yard efforts ( none on target) Loft should have converted his chance but far too many had shots that didn’t hit the target – Hallam looked an easier one to hit the target.
January 2, 2022 at 6:27 am #220367One CB available yesterday and one who may be fit but was surely not match fit. Not to bring in a 4th CB would be dangerous.
(BTW, I don’t think anyone said that Manny has Covid. ‘Covid issues’ and similar language was used.)January 2, 2022 at 6:37 am #220368I think Manny had contact with somebody who had COVID so has to isolate – I think that’s what KH alluded to.
January 2, 2022 at 9:16 am #220371“Cost us the draw”, Les?
Draws haven’t been enough for some time now.
Going down.

January 2, 2022 at 11:37 am #220387Pugh’s not the greatest player in the world but covers a lot of ground and get’s the tackles in
Same summary as Oldham game:-
Runs around a lot
Can’t shoot
Can’t pass
No point winning tackles if you give the ball away again.
IMO he’s filling the space that should be filled by a creative midfielder.1 user thanked author for this post.
January 2, 2022 at 11:56 am #220388Totly agree Cokeovenkid. I said when he brought Lewis on this is to show just what players he has available to him!

January 2, 2022 at 12:02 pm #220390Agree Wondergoals. I don’t like Davis at all. We missed Onaraisie today, he’s far better in the air than Davis and a much better all round defender. Why on earth Cox brought him here and made him captain I’ll never understand. He always slows the game down too and invites passing back.
January 2, 2022 at 12:08 pm #220391I thought Lewis did OK when he came on. His touch looks decent for our level and he looked to make a pass. I agree about Loft, there is some talent there but there isn’t the application needed for a team like ours that is crying out for consistent performances. I would like to see Wilson and Gallimore get more playing time, they have the desire I like to see. Lewis deserves to be around the squad too. Add a proven forward at this level and a CB and I think we will have enough to survive. Hill’s more difficult job is on the summer, whether we survive or not.
January 2, 2022 at 12:24 pm #220393lesgeo Keith said that 7 players were missing due to Covid when asked about Manny.
but yesterday we lost to a needless corner given away when Hackney was under no pressure, and like my mate behind the goal said last night Rory has to take a lot of the blame for not telling him to leave it, whether there was a push or not on Taft I don’t know but the players weren’t happy, but that is no excuse for our feeble attempts at scoring.
January 2, 2022 at 12:28 pm #220394There was definitely a two handed push on the back to move our defender under the ball.
January 2, 2022 at 12:34 pm #220395There was definitely a two handed push on the back to move our defender under the ball.
Taft had already lost the header by that point, I don’t think it made a difference to the goal being scored.
January 2, 2022 at 1:13 pm #220397What made a difference to the goal being scored was the big deflection off one of our players that header was not going in. Still we were fortunate at Oldham with Lofts first goal so you win some and lose some. In our position you need to win a lot more. I think we’ll need 8 to 10 wins to survive but where there going to come from is anybody’s guess.
