Talking to my NE informants today and a good mate of Nelson says he’s taken up a position coaching football at the above (in Chester-le-Street next to Durham CCC)

So he’s turning his back on league football for a while. Can’t really blame him after the shit-show at Scunthorpe over the past two seasons.

Thing is, if we’d made him up as manager would it have affected his mindset regarding his personal reasons for moving back nearer home, probably not, family is more important than any job IMO.
