Mathematically not but that pretty much is the culmination of Swann’s years of incompetence – don’t think he was there either – don’t know why surely a big game!

Personally, I’ve had no belief that we would survive since well before Sun-Return.
    This simply reinforces it.

Perhaps we should start building for non-league as soon as possible.

Even the most rose tinted glasses won’t see it any other way. Its a new squad but still such a lack of quality (from both sides really) One shot on target for us – just not good enough. One win in 15 for Keef

Remember when KH said the next 7 games are the ones that will define us – we’ve played 6 of them and lost 6.

In a way it’s a relief that it’s over so early, spares us the heartache of having any kind of hope.

So, so poor today. As bad as we’ve ever been. Didn’t deserve nothing from the game and that’s saying something because Oldham were absolute tosh aswell- they’ll be coming down with us.

Didn’t expect much when Keith took over, but he’s somehow not met already low expectations, Performances and results are unbelievably shite.

On a side note, thought Oldham were the best set of supporters to visit GP for years. Incredible support given their position

Just not good enough. We were down before today but this just puts a few more nails in the already well sealed coffin.

Our replacements could well be Stockport County.

Paddy got the winner that took them top. Hippo came on for the last twenty.

From the PL down into non-league, ex-Irons are still finding the back of the net. Meanwhile we couldn’t hit a bovine backside with a certain stringed instrument!

    Dark days!

19 and stuck, one shot on target for each team yet they scored theirs while their keeper made a good for ours, like usual give as good as we get first half and get overrun the more the second half goes on, also I think the game changed when Nuttall put that effort over the bar, like normal we can’t get shots on target and the substitutions didn’t improve the performance either.

So depressed, Jill & I couldn’t face going direct home, had a couple in the local first, anyhow I enjoyed the Marston’s Pedigree much better than the game.
Agree with you Mick, fair effort first half but think as lack of fitness from the new signings started to tell, we fell away badly, and midfield largely dissolved.
In summary, if we can’t beat Oldham at home, we’re f****d. The final hope is the new lads can get some fitness in quick and start to win some games. Sadly it’s not gonna happen. I just wanna cry.

Just woken up thinking about our issues and current plight…..

I have to be careful what I post because some people with incredibly large egos but increasingly small pockets police this and other social media platforms looking to pounce on the little man with any opinion that doesn’t quite suit their own lofty opinions of themselves.

I wil say this though – the current regime needs to get out and get out quick (even if it’s a case of resigning from the board but staying as majority shareholder for the time being).

There are good people, with the best interests of the club at heart, who won’t (or are prevented) from going to watch this wretched outfit by a man who turned up long after (and who will be gone long before) these proper supporters.

The current situation makes me want to vomit, as does the rotund one in charge.

Well, what a bloody day, Scunny match not on Radio Hull, watched the Jocks beat England at rugby, Scunny lost to Oldham who had their first win in 11 matches which is better than Scunthorpes who have not won in 16 games, and just watched England womens cricket team slump from 57-2 to 78-7 in Australia, I think it is time for bed!!! People are saying todays result is the final nail in the teams coffin, I do not agree because we were heading for relegation many weeks ago, but just looking at our miserable pathetic record :-
starting with todays game L0-1, L2-3, L0-1, L0-2, L0-4, L0-1, L D D D D L D L L L so no wins in our last 16 games, only managed to score in one of our last six matches, once again todays home game against another pathetic team, each had one shot on target in the entire match, and Scunny managed just two corners HOW CAN THE MANAGEMENT KEEP EXPRESSING THAT FANS MUST ATTEND IN DROVES??

We need at least nine more wins, November 23rd was our last win!!!! and present form gives the following number of points scored in the last six matches:-
    Scunny – zero
    Oldham – 6
    Carlisle – 5
    Walsall – zero
    Colch’er – 8
    Barrow – 7

I have never felt so low with the club in my 71 years following and supporting them, just to think that Mr Swann with all his plans, speaches and promisses over the past seven years have all turned into the ruination of SUFC who have no money, no players worth watching, only 2,200 remaining fans, no stadium, certain to lose their League status after 71 years, and are now presenting the most unentertaining football ever seen by our club, well done Mr Swann and your pipe dreams.

I didn’t think we played badly first half, but after Sinclair went off we got brushed aside, but though they pushed us back they scored with their only effort on target, though we only had one and the keeper made a good save.
Barton we have lost the last seven and we won the game before at Oldham not 16 without a win, but it is worrying and just hope the Chairman who has got us in this mess doesn’t come out with stupid remarks like the last 2 years of we will have the lowest budget in the National League, it was no wonder the club is in such a mess.

If he says that, surely anyone interviewing him will ask, “Why did you bother buying the club if you are only going to fund it at such a low level?”

Except that we know the truth, don’t we Swanny?

Always easier to be a little more objective the day after when our adrenalin levels are returning to normal. Both teams lacked quality but they deserved the win for there second half performance and those amazing travelling fans who were a proper twelfth man. It was fitness levels overall that did for the new guys in the second half but I was quite pleased at different times in the game how they all performed, wouldn’t say any of them look dire acquisitions and over time with games I think they will improve us but time unfortunately is what we haven’t got. Oh Mr Swann what have you done, on Mr Wharton where are you now.

Aye NI, add Duane Holmes to the list. Well taken goal today.

Duane was already on this weekend’s list. Along with Billy Sharp, Lyle Taylor, Ivan Toney, Matt Crooks and even Luke bloody Waterfall!

I’d say you can’t win matches with only one shot on target, but Oldham managed it!

BTW BS, we last won on Boxing Day, not November 23rd.

SWANN isn’t fit to wipe the shoes of Strve Wharton. Yes not dveryone agreed with Whartons decisions, but this guy isn’t fit to be anywhere near a football club. Was speaking to a Gainsborough Trinity fan last week who said he was a terrible guy and most of their fans were glad to see the back of him.

The fans noticed long before those in charge that throwing mountains of money at an impossible dream was always going to end in heartbreak. Trouble is when the fans started voicing that sensible opinion they had to be put in their place, and here we are …

I always backed Swann but have no problem accepting that I was wrong. Well done, alcazar, you were right.

In my defence I still can’t understand how anyone running a business, which is what a football club is at the end of the day, can get it so wrong. Yes, people running businesses make mistakes all the time but Swann’s taken this to another level with SUFC. If this is how he runs his other companies then I can’t see any of them surviving. There’s no doubt that covid will have played a part but using this as an excuse is pathetic.

You’re a clown, Mr Swann, but unlike most clowns your act isn’t funny. Oh, and for the record, that’s my opinion so no need to get in touch with your lawyers. I backed you because many of your ideas made a lot of sense, but given where we now it’s very clear you couldn’t put these ideas into practice.

I feel for all the supporters — you’ve let every single one of us down very badly; and don’t underestimate what this means to people. I’ve never been able to explain to anyone who isn’t a football supporters just how painful it can be to see your club in trouble. Right now I’m feeling a lot of pain as will be every Iron fan up and down the country and across the globe — yes, there are a few overseas as well.

So, please don’t think this doesn’t matter. It actually matters a lot and to far more people than you might realise. We won’t forget. Ever.

Definitely the best post I’ve ever seen from you Bucks. I wouldn’t worry about his lawyers on that one btw. Don’t think you can get done for calling anyone a clown. I’m not sure him trying to disprove it in court would wash anyway!

Yes Mike / Northumbiron you are both correct, I overlooked the win on boxing day pals, so sorry and please make that one win in 17, that sounds a lot better ha ha!, but it is some record isn’tit, nearly as bad as not scoring a goal in six of our last seven matches, and this is without any help from Cox !!!

Resigned to never see a home world cup again in my lifetime, sad state of affairs, not that our bid wouldn’t be up there with the best, but votes are bought these days and the fa aren’t prepared to go down that route.
