Well that was a surprise, the best bit of entertainment from our side all match. Whoever thought of the tennis balls I say well done! Some of the stewards were throwing them back over the wall and then they came back over again. Then there was the pitch invasion. It was time for our supporters to show their feelings to the owners THE DISGUSTING AND DISGRACEFUL SWANNS! This is my opinion.

April 9, 2022 at 7:15 pm #235260It was as embarrassing as the performance, it was funny but made everyone look a laughing stock, nobody around us were impressed to be honest, this season can’t end fast enough.

Sums up how slow some of our fans are!April 9, 2022 at 7:19 pm #235263Supporters were impressed around us and saying well done!!!! It was harmless and peaceful and good to see the police not overreacting like the bullish stewards at the previous match with the handcuffs.

April 9, 2022 at 7:23 pm #235264Well uptheiron99 let’s hope he sells it very quickly in fact ASAP immediately and then we can buy our season tickets along with the rest of the returning supporters. It must be truly dreadful to be hated as much as the SWANNS are for what they have done to our Club Scunthorpe United FC.

April 9, 2022 at 7:27 pm #235268To be honest I don’t think they were doing it to impress you Mick, it was at least a protest, and what did you do?.

April 9, 2022 at 7:31 pm #235269Was far from embarrassing in my opinion. Well done is what I say.

April 9, 2022 at 7:35 pm #235270I’m going to guess that when the “ highlights “ are out tomorrow it will probably be the only part worth watching.

Sums up how slow some of our fans are!Rot, today is the 8th anniversary of the FA telling Allam to shove his name change guff, if we’d had more gits like you he’d have got his way and would still be there. To save you the bother, it took him a few months to find a buyer once it is actually started to cost him money to run the club.

April 9, 2022 at 7:41 pm #235273Thought the tennis balls were a good idea, pitch invasion was too far as the point was already made.

Sums up how slow some of our fans are!Was he there to see it?
Was he there to negotiate with the prospective buyers?
Was he there to ‘fully support’ his team?
Qualify “on the verge”, how close are we? Be honest, you’ve no idea have you?12 users thanked author for this post.

Topics: 11SS after the horse has bolted! Swann steps down as chairman, announces his intention to sell, has potential new owners in the stand THEN you decide it’s a good time to ‘protest’.
Surely you see how ridiculous that is?April 10, 2022 at 8:45 am #235315Strange how despite the club basically being on life support and the stands almost completely empty- you get so worked up about some mild protest and offer no criticism whatsoever to the owner.
You’re either a Swann or a troll uptheiron; I’d expect a millionaire’s son to have better things to do with their time, so I’m going for the latter.

Very true but he will have been made aware about the balls, the pitch invasion and the ” we want Swann out ” chants. Just nice to keep him feeling uncomfortable and for him to realise his PR crap on the website and on the Iron- bru podcast is not being swallowed.

April 10, 2022 at 3:15 pm #235358A load of masked up hoodies, mainly kids who had walked down from town, running onto the pitch, breaking the law? And then people complain that stewards have handcuffs. Been a steward for the money they’re getting…not for me. They stop or try to stop idiots getting on the pitch and risk getting hit or worse.
The atmosphere is toxic, as I said the other week against Barrow, and all it does it put off young families and those who feel unsafe who just want a day out at the football. Yes it’s rubbish what’s happening now. But I don’t remember any protests when we were chucking money at It to get into the championship, which ultimately has put us in this position as the money ran out fast

If you went to buy a house would you care whether the current owner was there or not?
Just for once use abit of common sense and admit that a ‘protest’ yesterday was absurd.
April 10, 2022 at 8:32 pm #235363Mr Swann’s own words:-
“Although I have not actively been looking for a new owner, I have been talking to several groups who have an interest in the club and having stepped down I can spend more time now working toward finding a new owner for the club and securing its future.
I am delighted that Lee Turnbull has agreed to come in and oversee the operational side of the football club.”The respective roles of Mr Swann and Mr Turnbull are clearly stated here.
Who should have been speaking to the prospective buyers?(And supporting the team as has asked the fans to do.) If I’m buying a house I want to speak to the person with whom I can negotiate not somebody who can give me a cup of tea whilst I look round.3 users thanked author for this post.

April 10, 2022 at 9:46 pm #235365I might be wrong but can we believe Swann is talking to new buyers when he owns the ground ,the car park and the training pitch ? I am sceptical
April 10, 2022 at 9:48 pm #235366Personally I think a big well done must be given to those who voiced their displeasure with what’s going on at the moment. Doing nothing and accepting it has happened for far too long. Plus the stewards again yesterday, let me tell you something they proper wind me up. They make all the effort in the world to stop home fans invading the pitch but do nothing when away fans invade the pitch. A load of Mansfield got on with no challenge at the end of the game yesterday. Yes the game had finished but that’s not the point.

There were from a couple of us on here that saw straight through Swann from the start, we listened to what the Gainsborough fans told us, unfortunately we were ridiculed by the majority on here when we tried to say what was happening was unstainable and would end in tears.
Bucks is noticeable by his absence, he was one of the worst for telling us what idiots we were and that Swann is a brilliant businessman, we were going to get a shiny new stadium that wouldn’t cost us a penny, how grateful we should be for having Swann at the club.
