SUFC is a private business, just giving it cash annoys me.
https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/stuart-maw-1?utm_id=66&utm_term=WrajyDxbQJanuary 22, 2024 at 9:06 am #279634Don’t do it then, it’s not compulsory.

January 22, 2024 at 9:17 am #279635Wonder if SUFC going bust and out of business, due to a lack of money for another person’s dishonest actions over unpaid bills whilst in charge, would annoy Fans more?

January 22, 2024 at 9:31 am #279636The club will get taxed on it,if he’d used common sense and gone through the trust to use it for shares taxatio becomes a non-issue .If he reaches total 5k is tax?
January 22, 2024 at 10:30 am #279643Thought that he’d previously said that he was invited to a meeting at the Round Table for discussions.
Either he’s jumped the gun or hasn’t listened?January 22, 2024 at 10:36 am #279644Thought that he’d previously said that he was invited to a meeting at the Round Table for discussions.
Either he’s jumped the gun or hasn’t listened?Jumped the gun!

January 22, 2024 at 11:56 am #279646I think his intentions are honourable,Just not convinced it’s how to do it
January 22, 2024 at 12:07 pm #279648Still, if he gets into the boardroom ahead of Barley and Smithson that’ll be a laugh.
Danny Stamp has surely sorted him free tickets.

Either he’s jumped the gun or hasn’t listened?Round Table? Knights of…??
January 22, 2024 at 1:12 pm #279650At least it’s not crowdfunding for WHAM’s legal fees. Even he didn’t want that – doesn’t like being given funds easily- where’s the fun, the thrill in that eh?!!
January 22, 2024 at 1:20 pm #279651Getting a bit much now, promoted the lottery ( nice one) the club shop sunday carvery then a crowd funder (questionable). Then asking £2 from basically every team in the country give over its embarrassing, god knows what he gonna come up with next, you can only go to the well so many times and by as he done it. Give him an award and let’s have an end to it all.
January 22, 2024 at 1:25 pm #279653Lol, bit harsh I reckon awaywego. He’s not doing any harm and it’s easy to ignore if you’re not interested in participating.

Ive jumped on for the ride but there comes a point when this constant multi pronged begging all be it well meant starts to get a tad embarassing and smacks of taking the piss… im sure it will drift away like a fart in a taxi given time.
Gotta love Stuarts heart and spunk for even doing it and also taking the fight to the FA gods.
I fancy a few Changs , steak lunch and happy ending soapy massage this weekend dont suppose any of you guess fancy chipping in ???
January 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm #279655I agree it’s a bit much but every bit of money he can get for the club debts is a bonus in my book. Does it smack of desperation on his part, yes it does but we do need it.
Maw will be the one up for 2024’s Outstanding contribution to desperation award. I suspect he’ll get that at Pride Of Britain awards.
Look, on a serious note as I stated above, if he raises another 20k then fair play to him….we need all the help we can get, desperate or not !

January 22, 2024 at 2:23 pm #279656Harsh but fair Deerey harsh but fair.
January 22, 2024 at 2:40 pm #279657If the club is making a loss overall, which it surely is, then will they have to pay any tax ?
January 22, 2024 at 3:00 pm #279659I believe gifts over a certain are taxed ,it’s unearned income.I could be wrong but Stew himself could be taxed ,he’s not a registered charity and earning £20k basically

January 22, 2024 at 5:36 pm #279662If that happens would there be another crowd funding effort on behalf of Stuart to raise the money to help him pay the tax?
It will become a never-ending spiral
January 22, 2024 at 7:31 pm #279663Just giving take a fee of 2.9% and 20p for every donation, Stuart is expected to declare it to the tax office and Scunny pay Vat on it.
January 22, 2024 at 7:43 pm #279664Looks as if he’s digging himself a hole?
January 23, 2024 at 1:32 am #279666Speedboat without a rudder comes to mind. Saying that, you’ve got to admire his enthusiasm.
Sustainability will only be achieved by encouraging more through the gate.
January 23, 2024 at 8:30 am #279673Lots of clubs in our league do a boost the budget for player signings so whats the difference.
January 23, 2024 at 8:42 am #279675I think there could be a sort of compassion fatigue ,It’s clear that we have to get people through the gate and spending at GP the begging bowl worked once when it was a massive emergency . to do that the football needs to be good .At the moment fans don’t seem to be excited by it. We just seem to spend a lot of time under pressure .
I doubt Stewart is in it for the “look at me” as someone suggested above as we’ve seen in recent stories, certain people and organisations that made a huge contribution in helping to save the club and GP get very little coverage .January 23, 2024 at 9:42 am #279679Seen hes done a 30 football club name card now, someone else joining the band wagon doing a lottery bonus ball game 3 numbers for a fiver only thing is there are only 59 numbers whether its a scam or not I dont know people should be wary though.
January 23, 2024 at 9:52 am #279680I have to laugh, “Raising money to clear the debts that Bonnie and Clyde mounted up”
The same people you endorsed Stuart?
He’s had his meeting with the Chairwoman. So he’ll be happy.
The other one, is it win tickets for the Rushall game AWG? if i get to that, i’ll just pay on the turnstile thanks..January 23, 2024 at 11:34 am #279683Scunny fan legend Stu has gone you tube crazy .. making more vids than Mia Khalifa at the moment.
January 23, 2024 at 1:20 pm #279685You have to smile people raising money to help the club, and the club reduce admission prices for one of the bigger games attendance wise, I thought every penny counted.
January 23, 2024 at 1:27 pm #279686New or Roast Potatoes?
He’s dogged, you’ve got to give him that.Football Clubs are generally rich people’s play things.
No one gets rich owning a football club.
Football clubs don’t make money.Community clubs are exactly that, only of interest to a limited number of people.
A small pool of potential customers means that sponsorship will most likely only come from smaller local independent businesses – it’s a low ceiling. The easiest way to redistribute wealth through the leagues is to rehash the amount of clubs relegated and promoted each season.
I’ve said that before in another thread.4 automatically relegated from PL.
3 & PO Winners promoted to PL.5 automatically relegated from Championship.
4 & PO Winners promoted from L15 automatically relegated from L1
4 & PO Winners promoted from L2NL becomes EFL L3
5 automatically relegated from L2
4 & PO Winners promoted from L35 automatically relegated from L3
4 & PO Winners promoted from NL6 automatically relegated from NL
2 & PO Winners promoted from NLN
2 & PO Winners promoted from NLSYou can’t hope to survive on whip rounds & begging bowls.
January 23, 2024 at 1:37 pm #279687‘He’s dogged, you’ve got to give him that.’
Had to re-read that. I feel better now.
