Sticks to his word. Paid up and talking to players to bring in.

Maybe, but it’s early days. In a matter of two days we’ve gone from “he’s a shyster we cannot trust” because of Dean getting the managerial role and the handling of Nelson, from some to maybe he’s great.

This is a good sign, but I think it will take time before we truly know. Be happy that things look positive, but some perspective is needed.

If you’ve paid big money for a business that is subject to a winding-up order, you’re going to want to get that solved to protect your investment. It’s basically just part of the cost of the takeover.

Good to see but I really want him off Twitter. There’s no middle ground in that place and he’d be better off sticking with official lines of communication.

Have used Twitter for 2 years to keep abreast of the Swann out activity but now looking forward to leaving again.

Particularly now it’s owned by a right wing extremist.

New rules on Bru coming next week, one is that those who registered less than six years ago will be banned. ;-)

The new owner and Chairman came in only a few days ago, at a time when nearly all Scunny fans and everyone else were looking at the club being wound up very shortly, in my eyes he has done a brilliant job in those few days, and can see no reason for my views being changed in the future, so please, lets stoip this doubting and give him our 100% support and backing.

I would have thought that after news came through last week that the evil one had sold the club, everyone would be over the moon with the new owner, but after reading the forum there are still Scunny fans that are not happy, yes it is only probably 5%, but what the hell do these people want??????.

In just a few days, the team have taken 4 points out of 6, had an home gate of 3,693, with only a bus load from Bromly attending, paid off the tax bill resulting in that embargo ending, scouting for new players to bring in, appointing a new manager and assistant who have excelent records, and giving Nelson a full time contract instead of working whithout one and seeing the big change in our fans faces last Saturday.

The Swann has left our club, so everyone should be singing the praises of our saviure.

Don’t know if it’s ‘5%’ as you make out Bartonscorpion, but a small percentage are maybe reserving judgement on some aspects of the takeover for a while. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Given the previous owner, I think they’ve every right to be wary. The vast majority on here are relieved and happy with the outcome. That should be enough for anyone on here shouldn’t it? Or are some posters so conditioned to lashing out and criticising others on here, now it’s the turn of anyone not resembling a clapping seal? Funny, I recall you some years ago suggesting Swann might want to sue me for some fairly innocuous comments I made, but trust me you’ve made far more libelous comments about him in the last year. So maybe just let people have their opinions and don’t have a go at them because they’re not conforming to your satisfaction?

Deereyme66, sorry pal, I have never ever stated on here that you should watch what you say, or Swann might sue you, and you are correct, that I have said a few things that have not been too nice or clever, but they have all been true, so no problem there. This man guided our club from being in the League One play off’s into non-league football, and only weeks or months away from extinction, this being a supporter and follower for 70 years surely gives me a right to be angry with anyone that has done this to my club. What I feel sorry about also is the fact that I fully supported Swann for about five years, and gave him my full support on here, it makes me feel so stupid about myself for swallowing all that bullshit and lies, in the end, nothing ever come true with any thing that he spouted.

That is why I am so happy that this new owner has taken our club out of the clutches of Swann, so have your opinions by all means, but in my eyes this new man has done wonders for Scunthorpe United and should be supported 100% by our fans, and I feel confident that he will be.

Er,if you didn’t exactly say ‘sue’ you certainly intimated it which made me second guess if what I said was libellous for some time, even though it wasn’t, as I had it checked out by a legal friend. Anyhow, in the past now, I’ve made my point. Looks like you’re still not wary of what you’re saying about him yourself.

Regarding the new owner – I don’t know what your problem is. Of course the vast majority support him and a few people have some reservations. So what? I’m not talking about my opinion, but the opinion of others and their right to express them, in a good mannered way without abuse. You and a few others on here could learn a lot from how they post constructively. If you want 100% support with zero criticism you’d be better suited to Russia or North Korea. The ‘witch is dead’, let’s not try and find new witches that don’t exist amongst our own fan base eh?

I agree, social media is a really toxic place and a few keyboard warriors stirring the brown stuff may unsettle him. Probably good to include Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and the worst of the worst for gossip Iron-Bru.
Humberside is on the naughty step which leaves Scunthorpe United web. Will be interesting to see after the Nelson fiasco how long it will be before vitriolic comments filter in to everyday dialogue.

Say no more on the subject Deerey, its got a bit silly now, so no one will be really interested pal.

Just wondering if we have made any signings yet, it does not show non-league signings on BBC Sports.

If my analysis is correct there are a few aged fans who frequent Iron-Bru but the most vitriolic fans who appear to be younger and can’t spell very well frequent Twitter, Facebook and SnapChat.

The bottom line is, if you don’t like some content in posts because they’re not 100% behind the new owner, no one is forcing you to stay. So stop complaining about them. And no, I won’t ‘say no more on the subject’ bartonscorpion. Supporters who expressed concerns about the previous owner were shouted down for way too long on here till it got to the stage we nearly lost the club. So please don’t start calling the shots about what is deemed acceptable or not to your liking given some of the disgusting stuff you’ve posted on here and the non football side over the last few years. It’s like the phrase ‘once bitten, twice shy’ never existed. No need to reply clappers, this post isn’t for debate, it’s a statement.
