Studies suggest they help mitigate. They are not 100% foolproof and they aren’t a cure, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have any use.

That’s because gay rights advocates chose a month for Pride. Veterans could have done the same, but chose not to. There’s nothing wrong with that.

You are not indicating to me that you respect the troops with a comment like this. Instead it just comes across as ire directed at another community, and the war dead being used as a stick to beat them with. The focus isn’t on respect for the war dead, but why do those gays get anything?

Added to that, a month of activity to celebrate something (whether you like it or not) is not unusual. A day of remembrance for the dead (whoever it may be, including groups) is not unusual. Anybody who starts turning it in to a competition is clutching at straws.

Either way, a number of posters on here think it’s great and are quite willing to show that. Any gesture before a game supporting the anti racism movement in sport is very welcome whether it be taking the knee or showing support through applause to the team taking it. Applause before a game is used for many things such as remembering a famous player now passed on or a gesture of appreciation to some long standing fan or club member. The knee represents the anti racism cause and therefore is unique to that and that is why it should stay and that’s why players who voluntarily take it should be applauded.
