    FFS!

    Not another thread on this?

    “Make the players”!!!

Like “stand in the corner”, or “sit on the naughty step”.

    Give it a rest.

No one will be making them do anything they don’t want to. The public booing of a simple anti-racism gesture is a shameful, hurtful act. Doing so to young men who are regularly racially abused is doubly shameful. Pretending this has something to do with “keeping politics out”, or that creeping “Marxism” is a threat to your way of life in a Britain with a majority Conservative government is cowardly and disingenuous.

Northumbiron, if you dont like the subject matter then ignore it. As long as it is a current subject I will use my right to free speech to ask the question weather or not it suits your narative.

Any evidence that players already taking the knee are ” made to “, it’s a voluntary gesture against racism, unless you know different?

Deereyme get you facts right, people are not booing the players they are booing what blm stands for. Maybe you should look at their website to see what kind of organisation they really are.

Not that, it’s the fact that several threads on this issue have been started. You could have used the “England” one quite easily.

Of course you’re booing the players! They’re the ones making the gesture. No way can you separate the two.

I expect you’re asking so you can make sure you get down to the SVS in time to boo them yourself.

Hopefully you’ll be drowned out by applause like at Middlesbrough yesterday.

My facts are right. The England players for instance are pretty much all publicly saying they are taking the knee (not ‘taking to the knee’, you can’t even get that right) as a political gesture but as a stand against racial inequality. Black and white players are united about it. Thankfully the majority of football supporters understand this and are standing up against an attempted derailment with roots in far right sources. Maybe you should get your facts right.

How hypocritical to accuse me of not getting my facts right when you’re the one suggesting that any footballer is being made to take the knee. If you can’t handle the fact that they are voluntarily doing it and not being made to do it that’s your problem.

Previous post correction as it won’t let me edit now – ‘NOT as a political gesture’

BLM are not one single group. It’s more of a broad church spanning many people from varying backgrounds. Some will do it solely to make a stand against racism, others will be more Marxist inclined. However, the latter do not represent the full, since it’s not run from one grouping as such. Many go just to make a stand against racism without wanting to push a more socialist agenda. Heck, the knee taking predates the movement, so it can be separated from that if needed.

I think it’s safe to say that footballers fall into the category of those wanting to take a stand against racism without pushing any kind of political agenda, so booing for this seems misjudged, especially given they have explicitly said they are doing it for opposition to racism. This would make it seem to them they are being booed for anti-racist gestures, since they have explained it’s not a support of politics.

Personally I am unsure as to whether it’s having an effect now; it’s been happening for a while and little seems to have been achieved. However, booing just seems mean spirited when they have made it clear it’s to highlight the issue of racism.

Which is interesting, since that Big J character and others make out that the only form of opinion among the ‘common man’ on this is widespread disapproval. Though, I’m sure they’d say the applauders are out of touch liberal elitists themselves, because the only acceptable voice of the ‘common man’ is that of the outraged by “politically correct, woke nonsense.” Which practically means any form of taking a stand against bigotry these days.

Why do these booers think they’re more qualified to tell the players what they really think than the players themselves?

    Bullcrap.

I’d stick to the day job if i were you…oh…wait…not a proper job is it?😄😄😄

Even the lefty BBC refer to it as a political organisation.

And as for raising a fist in a black power salute? despicable.

What don’t you understand about the players publicly stating they are not doing it to support BLM? I see you can’t help yourself with the silliness still.

Northumbiron the question was does anybody know if the iron plan to take to the knee next season and nothing to do with the last two England games. It was a Scunthorpe united related question so please dont tell me how to conduct myself.

If you don’t like footballers making a brief gesture of solidarity against racism then ignore it.

Personally I am delighted that a vocal minority are choosing to demonstrate why anti racism is so relevant.

Now you have rephrased the original question to try and clean all that egg off your face after posting the first one, hilarious. Pop round to see alcy in his shed, he’ll advise you on what to post next.

Pointless question anyway given how far away the season start is. That wasn’t the point really though was it?

And May I ask why you ask specifically about Iron players being “made to take the knee”?

We play half of our league games away. What if you’re at the game at, say, Mansfield and they do it there?

And as Deerey says it’s two months before the new season starts. What’s the real reason for the OP?

Maybe he meant ‘talking to the knee’ at the start of the season because they won’t have a clue what the manager is saying to them?

If Loft took to the knee in the box we may get the odd penalty!

He’d have to get into the box first!

As for J Charles, we’ve found another one who hasn’t got the guts to tell us the real reason he has problems with players deciding to take the knee. An insult to the great man’s name.

It’s also about time Alcy told us what “real” job he used to do. Traffic warden, railway guard, parky, bog attendant, debt collector, jobsworth???

Ah! So you prefer your salutes with an open palm, rather than a clenched fist?

I look forward to all these “keep politics out of football types” piping up about being “made” to “stand in SILENCE” next November.

And as for being an insult to the great mans name as you suggest I think you are rude ignorant individual as you know absolutely nothing about me.
