At my workplace I am responsible for any correspondence that goes out with my signature on it. If I don’t agree with that rule the solution is another rule that nothing goes out with my name on it unless I’ve read and approved it.
Apparently normal workplace rules don’t apply if you are the Home Secretary.
You would like to think that the rules would be even more strictly applied for such a responsible job.
