Nothing from the club but this from RH:-

A member of the local group working to buy Scunthorpe United has insisted to me that their deal to take over the club is not close to collapse. They’re still keen to buy @SUFCOfficial and they’re talking to possible investors about coming on board. #Iron #UTI @RadioHumbersideSeems that Simon & Ian could be a little short of the asking price, come on you investors.

December 29, 2022 at 5:29 pm #251438A few Facebook replies from Simon a day or two ago didn’t suggest takeover was finished.
December 29, 2022 at 5:43 pm #251441I’d run a mile from it in their shoes

December 29, 2022 at 6:33 pm #251443Thing is 64 you aren’t in their shoes and probably never will be from a financial point of view. Leave them too it, there is more to this than just purely financial reasons, there is a tradition, a heritage a feeling of something that this is important to our town and it’s population that Swann has never ever bought into IMO.
December 29, 2022 at 6:44 pm #251444they do not have sufficient funds,so it’s a financial decision I don’t want Simon losing everything he’s worked for ,the emotive stuff is a given but you need money and walking away and letting the club die would be a prudent gamble. We’re getting relegated anyway so a new club lower down with 2.5k fans and ready made league standard ground is very attractive proposition.

December 30, 2022 at 1:14 am #251470if the funds are so tight re actually buying the club will there be money to invest in new players etc etc to get us out of this clusterfook situation.

Most local people haven’t got the funds to join in and be a part of the consortium but we can support the local businesses who are. My son was with friends at Rahman’s the other night and the waiter said that they were part of the consortium – if you fancy a meal out or a takeaway go there rather than anywhere else and at least we can do our bit to support in an indirect way.
I’m not sure who else is joining in as part of the consortium but when and if we are told it will form a big part of my decision making when I buy any service.7 users thanked author for this post.
December 30, 2022 at 10:07 am #251488In that case we could do with a rallying cry from some famous old faces.
Botham? Keegan?
Even a couple of recent high profile players like Sharp and Toney showing support for the consortium might help.
Anything is worth a go.

December 30, 2022 at 10:27 am #251491Nearly said it before “Cheapskates” prefer admin and see if the other consortium or others come in.

I think that is absolute nonsense. Roj owns Mizaans & has nothing to do with Rahmans!

Only repeating what my son was told. – don’t shoot the messenger
December 30, 2022 at 11:36 am #251503Roj told me at the game before Chesterfield that they had taken over another takeaway but it wasn’t going to be official until the New Year, whether it is Rahmans I don’t know.
December 30, 2022 at 12:55 pm #251516To any involved the fans will support them.
Just like the gates and catering, fans will help – just give them the chance. Not saying it will be easy but it can be achieved.

December 30, 2022 at 2:08 pm #251521Why would you go out of your way to go to Rahmans on a night out, no pubs near by and having to walking through little Bucharest and all the prozzies, nearest one to me but we wouldn’t go, the foods not up to dine Bangla or jubraj.
December 30, 2022 at 2:46 pm #251523Jubraj is in Scunthorpe not Bucharest, little or otherwise
December 30, 2022 at 6:20 pm #251545Agreed 64 unlike Rahmans. Personally I feel safe on frod road a really busy place even at 10.30 at night, it’s when you turn down a side street I have reservations.
