We’re playing against Barrow, a side who are strong in midfield.

We’re a goal up in the second half.

They’ve had a shedload of possession but can’t get the ball into the box to generate chances. Barrow look good but not threatening.

What’s the best way to throw away the lead?

Sit back defensively. Allow Barrow to overrun us in midfield.

Make it easy for them to get balls into our box.

If you put 10 or 11 men behind the ball, our players aren’t good enough to defend against most teams.

But it’s downright suicidal to do it against a team like Barrow.

I don’t like sacking managers usually. This one has got to go. Clueless.

The team barely strung a pass together in the second half and not one player in our squad is a danger to the opposition. Loft can run and battle a bit but has absolutely zero end product and that penalty was abysmal. We will never stay up as we cannot create a goal the only hope we have is set plays. So so poor again could easily have been another thumping if it wasnt for watson in goal. Not nice to say it but i think the whole management team needs to leave and we need a completely rebuild.

Sure it’s the whole management team Random, if not why are the others letting that bloody clown do what he always does without steppingin and saying to him we have tried this method twenty odd times and still failing, lets change it!!!!!!!, same as you say the goal keeper stopped a thrashing, andmit will go on and on with these bloody idiots on the touchline.

Next week, the guys that locked the main access gate should lock the managers office door with him inside it.

So SWANN is saying the team are good enough to keep us in the football league. So therefore he is putting the blame for our present position onto the manager and coaches. So why is he not doing anything about it and firing them. Is it because its all going according to plan for him.

Exactly NLI, adinistration and probably liquidation could easily follow if league status is lost, or should that read when its lost in April.

GO COX YOU USELESS SOD FOR THE GOOD OF THE CLUB.

You’re such an inept moron you managed to somehow snatched a draw from the jaws of victory due to your own negative stupidity.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Please if anybody connected to Swann is reading this post, get on your hands and knees and beg Swannster to bin him.

It’s getting beyond the joke now.

Hi Guys ..new to this forum.
Living overseas but Iron fan for decades and just had to vent at the current shambolic state the clubs in.
Swan got rid of Alexander who was IMO along with Laws n Adkins one of Scunnies best gaffas , Swan was quick to sack in the past but now not so with Cox when clearly “a local lad” or not he must go Swan is first n foremost a businessman with little interest in football ..hes a parasite destroying the club.. he got Cox on the cheap and along with Cox came Lillis n Co .. Lillis should be sat stinking of piss with joe Biden in a care home.
As far as i see it little fight , passion and loyalty in this group and NL football is pretty much nailed on as i cant see a winning streak coming with this lot… once in the NL the Iron could well do a Southend and struggle thus finding themselves out of bizz when Swan finally jumps ship…the NL is a nightmare to get out ov once there and some bigger richer clubs have been stuck for years.
Carlisle are in a similar position owner wise hence in the same sort of shit .. i can see a gap opening and the Iron being down by Christmas .. making it worse the codheads are on the up.
I still miss my home games , a few pints in the Iron bar ..and more so the great away days i enjoyed in years gone by.
Its difficult to keep the faith .. but im CLARET N BLUE ALL WAY THROUGH.

That last post might have been on the wrong thread …but just to clarify IMO Cox tactical decisions are head shaking as are his team selections , formation and game plans … you can only blame covid for so much and having the balance the books with basically the loss of a whole half decent squad ..alas a parasitic uninterested owner couple with an inexperienced low level manager a recipe for disaster.
As said on another thread its time for a change to 4 3 3 … or preferably in the board room and touchline individuals… but cant see that happening.
Cox would not get a job in the 1st or 2nd divisions where im based and they are years behind the English game.

Thing is people keep mentioning 4/3/3 but we were wining, playing fairly well and Barrow weren’t even in the game. The formation wasn’t the problem, it was the pillock in charge who well and truly cocked it up.

People can moan at the formation but the game was there to be won, we literally had it in the palm of our hands and that complete and utter idiot decided to completely fold.

Mr Negativity strikes again. Cox is doing this type of crap when the game is right there to be won while we’re in a strong position…absolutely ridiculous.

Somebody, anybody put this bloke out of his misery and bin him.

    God Above…beyond the joke now

This fool would have even been binned off from a Sunday league side before now. I wouldn’t personally have him overseeing a 5 a side footy match, never mind a football league side.

One thing being tactically inept but to change a game out of absolutely nowhere and throw away a much needed win due to your own stupidity and negative mindset is a whole new level of incompetence.

Again, as I said above….please bin this fool off

Last night was unbelievably negative, inexcusably so. We barely tried to hold the ball at all beyond around the 15th minute, choosing instead to sit back deeper and deeper. Barrow had little to offer but we gave them all the space they needed. You could argue Pugh was a bit unlucky to concede the penalty but if you spend the entire game playing in your own penalty area you always run the risk that a little mistake can be very costly.

Bringing Jarvis on made sense but why ask him to pay right wing?

Make no mistake, that was no points dropped last night, no excuse for it.

Neil came here making us all believe that he wanted to play exciting attacking football with a 4-4-2 formation, but after having Mr sit back at all costs Russ with him last season I think he still thinks this sit back and get pummeled approach will eventually work here yet even Graham Alexander failed when he tried it after Lucketti left and Neil McDonald joined him and he then got sacked for failure and a string of poor results with a good squad of players.

It’s obvious Cox isn’t going to walk away, after all who would give their wages up just like that. So now it’s up to one man, that is SWANN, he is the only person who can sack Cox, get a new management team in and try and keep us in the football league. Inaction from SWANN means he is happy with the present situation and happy for us to drop out of the football league.

Old Swannster has our assets remember, including a rather profitable plot of land, the same plot of land it was rumoured was worth 20million pound “at the time” not saying it’s worth that now.

Yes, that which he signed over to himself for a 12 million debt he himself created out of sheer idiocy.

If we went under and he sold the land for a similar amount for say a supermarket or the like to be built, he pays his 12 million pound bill off he pissed down the drain hole and could pocket 8 million for his rainy day fund.

Do you really think he’d give two craps whether he get’s to be chairman of another football club ?

This is if he’s come here for the land, not saying that’s the case but if it was, he’s played an absolute blinder.

No doubt you’re right but in my opinion the time for niceties are long gone. I’m thinking the longer Cox is here the less chance we have of staying up and a result of that is our club will probably fold.

    I’m pissed off.

Last night was embarrassing, we had no intention to win that game or try to extend our lead once we got it. Barrow had 80% possession. F*cking 80!!! It was awful to watch. We got lucky and deserved to lose, the players are shit, Cox is shit, the chairman is shit…it’s just shit all round!

Tactically inept, little imagination. Worse for me is after last nights game he said Barrow had 16 shots and we had 10 !!

Iron Stats produced a stat that should embarrass the Manager. Up to the 72nd minute Barrow had had 4 shots and us 9. From the 73rd minute to the final whistle Barrow had a further 12 and us 1 !!

That is a disgrace, someone decided to defend and from 3 pts got 1 !!
Then the substitutions took a forward off and put a midfielder on then having no outlet for clearances we were constantly defending takes off a mid player for a striker !!

Cam Wilson would have loved a chance but we seem reluctant to encourage our younger players.

A statistic far from being unique to last night’s game.

Happens every week. Well probably not every week. Teams don’t need to go for it if they’re already 4-0 up after 73 minutes!

Oh for a Scunny team that has 12 shots in the last 20 minutes. Often takes us 4 games to achieve that.

Was at the game last night.
We looked ok up until Cox subbed Scrimshaw for another mid field player.
After that it was just a matter of time before they scored as we hardly went out of our own half.
Their Keeper seemed reluctant in the 2nd half to kick the ball out due to possible the windy conditions but we allowed him to play it out short every time to one of the wing backs.
No pressure put on them at all and then Barrow allowed to bring the ball forward as our players just backed off deeper and deeper.
Change of momentum down to Cox substitution which let Barrow take control not just of the game but the whole pitch.
At one stage in second half there was an occasion when Barrow had a group of 5 of their players wide on the left hand side in our half without an Iron player near them as we were just backing off.
The Manager then comes up with sickness excuse , makes a change from the usual ones !
The Subs running up and down the touch line in front of us did nt look ill ! So if we really had ill players on the pitch surely it would have been better to play the fit ones !
Don’t believe a word the Chairman ever says and beginning to have doubts about Cox and his excuses

All he had to do was go like for like, changing loft with Jarvis and maybe stick Wood on in place of Hackney who was tiring.

Scrimshaw for me looked quite threatening and takes him off, you could tell the Barrow defenders were worried about him running in behind and yet takes him off.

Cox only had to keep it the same tactically and still managed to get it wrong !

If that’s Scrimshaw looking “quite threatening”, I wouldn’t like to see him on a bad day. Like an Aldi own brand version of Chris Dagnall.

He’s no world beater by any means and does actually remind me of Dagnall but that doesn’t change the fact he was actually playing pretty well.

I think you’re missing the point.

    Never mind.
