There you are he’s told you all to behave tomorrow and don’t protest against him.

“The club will fight extremely hard to give the fans the quality and excitement they deserve to challenge at the top of the National League next season.”

Yey! Top of the National League next season.

Another hollow promise, or wishful thinking?

I would file it in the same bin all of his other promises ended up in.

I see it as gearing up for “We couldn’t build a competitive team because the fans did not back us” quickly followed by “No-one credible came in to buy the club” (translation: no-one was daft enough to cover my losses and then invest enough to drag the club out of the shite).

Finally we will get the “No alternative but to put the club into administration and sell my land to a developer.”

Sorry all, covering some old ground here, but he’s come out with so many statements publically (some of which I’ve personally heard), many of which have just not been delivered on, including…’we won’t be relegated’…I’ll do whatever it takes….I’ll pay the EFL loan off if needs be’…’we’ll have spades in the ground in the next two weeks’.

NONE of these were delivered on Mr Swann. Why should we believe you now?

There are one or two things I’d take issue with:-
“Tony Daws and our academy staff work hard to produce the players of the future with a clear and defined pathway, which will stand us in good stead for years to come.”
How many first team regulars have they produced in the last 10 years? The youngsters are only playing now because we’re desperate.

“We can confirm Keith will be in total control of football affairs and Lee Turnbull will oversee the general running of the football club.”
How can that be guaranteed under new ownership?

“Tomorrow’s game against Hartlepool provides the club an opportunity to turn a corner.”
We’ve had many opportunities to do that over the last few seasons, why will tomorrow be any different?

“would ask that all of you continue to support the Iron with your passion, energy and commitment to move the club forward.”
A big ask considering that your passion, energy & commitment have vanished. Will you be there tomorrow?

Quite simple…support the “team of youngsters” whilst they play and protest at the end. I suggest a minutes “sarcastic” applause?

Premier League Clubs have invested millions, some hundreds of millions in to their academies over the years.
They have the best facilities, which enables them to easily attract qualified coaches, staff, scouts and the best players in the country.
What investment do lower league clubs pump in to their academies and what standard of facilities do they own?
Scunny play on school pitches at High Ridge and are based in an old portacabin.
The millions invested by the premier league clubs doesn’t guarantee a return and very few players make it to their first teams.

“Tomorrow’s game against Hartlepool provides the club an opportunity to turn a corner.”

    I think that’s a typo.

It should say “provides the club an opportunity to TAKE a corner’!

That won’t bring any attention from the media. If there is to be a protest it would need to get media attention, otherwise it’s as pointless as doing nothing.

Swann is a total dreamer.his business acumen re running SUFC has shown just how much he cared , hes raped our club and calling him stupid isnt really accurate as i believe he has slowly but surely taken over the clubs assets thus protecting himself when admin or liquidation time arrives.. IMO he has systematically planned this over the last 2 seasons and sadly it has come to this ..SUFC playing their last football League home game later today.

Shameful .. but i bet he still sleeps soundly without caring one jot re his failings and what total clusterfook they have turned a once small solvent well operated football club into.

Its National Labour day here tomorrow and planned a wake along with a Sunday roast at my local eatery ..

Sad n dark days …praying we avoid being wound up and we will be back in the EFL but cant see it happening too rapidly with the current set up and employees.

Claret n blue all way through .. Scunny til i die

There’s no point protesting, because the club are definitely selling up. Ask UTI99! :-)

Would an FA fine for a pitch invasion have been higher than the police bill we’ll get for having seemingly more police in attendance than fans on Saturday?

I’ve never seen anything like it.
A complete over reaction by the club and the police which seemed to antagonise supporters more than deter them.

There were lads at the front who were after causing trouble and getting on the pitch- no denying that- however, what happened to some good old communication and the stewards at least trying to clear the front of the stand before deploying pepper spray.

Disgusting scenes which put the icing on the cake of a truly miserable experience this season.

The threat was always going to be there so having police there was about right imo, without them I believe the game would have been abandoned, I never saw any over reaction from them they left the stewards to sort out the fans who invaded the pitch.

Was there any risk of any violence in an on-pitch protest? I would say no. I didn’t see any pepper spray used, was that after the game?

Think there were a couple of occasions it was used during the game and definitely a couple of times afterwards.

The lads at the front were 9 stone wet through, all it would’ve took is a couple of police with the stewards to clear the front before it became too overcrowded.

Two policemen came over to the main stand with a young lad hand-cuffed and then proceeded to take him to the exit gates, un-cuff him, put him outside, shut the gates and the police came back in. What followed was truly unacceptable. A heavily-built steward came rushing past us and was shouting and swearing in front of a very young child then opened the gates and went out after the young lad. A woman who was standing with a group outside said the steward had both his hands round the young lads neck, who was going blue in the face, and she had to intervene to stop him, also he was banged against a silver car which was parked in the first bay, which was subsequently damaged. The steward in my opinion was looking for trouble and had no reason whatsoever to follow the lad as the police had dealt with the situation. Absolutely disgraceful.

That I am led to believe was Nathan Stanton’s car based on the tweets I have seen about it. Nathan of course wasn’t happy about it either…..

If the Police had released him then he was FREE to continue his journey.

So based on what people have said has the Young Man been assaulted ?
He has witnesses so I wonder what will follow.

There is video evidence doing the rounds. He appears to have two hands round the lads neck, who is laid on the bonnet of Stanton’s car. An absolute disgrace. They are out of control.
