This January transfer window is SWANNS
last chance to save our Football League status, and what is he doing about it. Absolutely zero. After him saying at a season ticket holders forum that “we won’t go out of the league and if necessary I will pay the efl loan off”.Those were his words. They mean absolutely nothing, words are cheap. We didn’t believe a word he said, more fool those who believed him.He has weakened our squad and couldn’t wait to sell Loft before a replacement was found. It must have been one of the first January transfers completed. Then again his words “Loft won’t be transferred until we have a replacement”. Honestly you couldn’t make it up if you tried could you!!!! Does he know there is a difference between truth and lies!!!!! Shame on you SWANN AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!!7 users thanked author for this post.
January 13, 2022 at 9:09 pm #221565The fat lady is getting ready to exercise her vocal cords in readiness for her song. There is time to change things, but Mr Swann doesn’t appear to show willing.
It’s getting tedious, and I fear that we will sign nobody in this transfer window. If that is the case then we are doomed.

January 13, 2022 at 9:59 pm #221568Clearly doesn’t really care. If Swann was that interested in giving us a fighting chance he would have paid the efl loan off and got rid of the embargo.
Swann also could/should have paid some of the out of favour players off and got fresh blood in but he clearly has given up.
Swannster is hiding behind the line ” I’m not spending money to put the club at risk, I need to safeguard the club “.
The questionable arse wipe forgets to mention that the damage has already really been done.
Would paying the loan off and a few players out of their contracts really put the club under any more risk ?
No doubt he’s putting us at way more risk by not doing something to avoid us going down.

January 13, 2022 at 11:39 pm #221571maybe hes skint …. ready cash wise (not on paper)
sighting covid within the business sector as an excuse he may well be broke or saying hes broke.
this does not in any way defend him from the lies and harm he has brought to out club and the current transfer window inactivity confirms how much he really cares …or rather DOES NOT GIVE A TOSS.

January 14, 2022 at 6:42 am #221580If Mr Swann has stated that we aren’t going out of the league – then obviously there is a plan to ensure that this tragedy will be avoided.
Rather more seriously though, it is the Manny situation which has tilted everything the wrong way. That’s what happens when you do not have a balanced squad.
Please tell me he is able to play tomorrow!
January 14, 2022 at 7:18 am #221581You know what I think about Davis and Manny holds Taft together. Davis is awful, he reminds me of that CB we signed from Barnsley who looked like he was wading through quick sand.
The one who scored that awful own goal via a terrible attempted headed clearance at home at the away end. I think Wilcox signed him…Paul somebody. Before the sarcastic comments come rolling in, Somebody wasn’t his last name, I just can’t remember it.
Davis is that bad, he’s been shite since day one. Cox signed him as club captain as well !
God almighty.

January 14, 2022 at 10:44 am #221599He carries the ball forward well but does not look to have the qualities needed for a CB.
Did he play CB for the cods, Crewe & Morecambe? Played a fair few games. St Mirren too.January 14, 2022 at 10:54 am #221604From what I can see he played right back in his very early days but the bulk of his career has been as a centre back.
January 14, 2022 at 11:38 am #221613You’re right wondergoals, Davis is one of the worst centre-backs to have ever played for us. It’s got to be Taft and Onariase. I just pray Onariase is fit as I think Davis is a liability. As for Cox making him captain well we know Cox didn’t have a clue!

January 14, 2022 at 12:02 pm #221616The people responsible are the fans according to one person. Due to the fact they no longer support the club !
That right was removed over the last 8 years and it has finally come home to roost !

Onarise is a good example of a player who improves when he’s out of the team because, let’s be right, he has been pretty hopeless a lot of the time when he has played.

Paul Reid?
January 14, 2022 at 3:27 pm #221634Paul Reid! Although in fairness he was signed when Alan Knill joined in the final Championship days. Sent off at Norwich in a dire 6-0 defeat.
January 14, 2022 at 4:05 pm #221637All of the above is correct, there are no signs of any players coming into the club, yes they have signed a 19 year old that has never ever played in the football league. The club no longer have Loft, Scrimshaw or the keeper that have gone back to their clubs, so we are two players short of the pathetic squad we had before the transfer window, there is no talk regading any new moves for players, and the club still have players in their squad that are never ever going to be good enough or even good enough to be selected into our very poor twam, when I say “talk”, that would never be believed anyway if in came fronm Swann, he has spun possibly 20 of his mistruths already, and nothing he says is ever going to be swallowed again by all of us ex-attending supporters.
I am fully expecting that the next move will probably be the resignation of Keith Hill, I really do not think that he will hang about knowing that Peter Swann is just going to let the club die! but as bad as it sounds, I still believe that this could be part of the plan, the land that holds the ground, the car park and the practice pitch would be worth a lot of cash as a full sale, and there is still no valid other reason for keeping Cox as manager for a year too long, or is it just because Peter does not and is reluctant to sack managers!!!, it’s maybe not in his blood!!!!
All the fans can do is sit and wait and see if anything does forth, and then wait for the supporters to get the blame for not turning up to see and support the present day rubbish that we have put up with for 3 or 4 years, and of course the COVID issue, (only Scunthorpe had it).
EVEN UPTHEIRON99 has given up with his 100% support for Swann.

Paul Reid?
Yes, that’s the one. Absolutely terrible, he was like the Chris Iwelumo of CB’s. The ancient immobile version we ended up with.
Paul Reid I’m sure is the one who went for a headed clearance, completely mistimed it and ended up going down in instalments while heading it in for one of the most dodgy own goals you’ll ever see.
Didn’t he somehow end up on his knees while heading it in ? lol
January 14, 2022 at 8:53 pm #221655Is that the same dire game ferrite where Nunez was playing a blinder till the sending off, very unlucky not to equalise with his shot, but after Reid got sent off we had 60 mins to play with 10 men against a promotion side hardly surprising we got tonked. Knills first game in charge.
January 14, 2022 at 8:56 pm #221656My one and only trip to Norwich that day, then we hammered QPR the following week.

January 14, 2022 at 9:32 pm #221658Nunez was quality, little nippy winger from Leeds. Think he was Honduran..you could tell he was quality.
January 14, 2022 at 10:26 pm #221659It’s sad when you think back what quality players we have had in the last ten years compared to the shower we have now.

January 14, 2022 at 11:41 pm #221666Looking back to last two years is bad enough,
Van Veen, Eisa, Gilliead, Karacan, Clarke, McGahey.
Even McAttee would be preferable to Jarvis and Turan.
And we only escaped by the skin of our teeth then!
No chance with this squad.

January 15, 2022 at 2:06 am #221668You think the players on the lower end of the past great players list would run riot in this side.
Could you imagine what a firing Martin Carruthers would do up top with a fit Richard Kell pinging the ball around in midfield ?
It pains me to say this but past greats like Jack Cork would completely run rings around these lot despite being paralytic.
This is how bad it is now.

January 15, 2022 at 5:07 am #221670The proof of the pudding, Fe, is what the side has become in the absence of Manny.
All Hill’s hard work, which was really showing through, has simply turned to ashes without Manny – as predicted that it could.
The depth of squad is pathetically thin. We have been a CB down all season.Anyone could see Hill’s improvements and it was clear that the half decent CB which Onariase is, could hold it together. Take him away and the house of cards all began to crumble.
He’s been out long enough now not to be quite match fit and will be aware that he now has to get it right all the time. From now on, all of the pressure on him is going to be off the scale – poor sod!1 user thanked author for this post.
