I see Cox is will be here for the foreseeable future. I honestly don’t know what he’s playing at, 1 win in 24 matches, the worst of those was against Harrogate in which we conceded 5 before half time with no fight, no passion and certainly no structure.
This club sinks to new lows.
So, he get’s rid of Hurst when the team were starting to really turn a corner because he pushed against what he was planning and then Cox who’s not fit to manage a sunday league side is so out of his depth it’s untrue and yet he’s STILL HERE.
Unbelievable.

October 12, 2021 at 3:58 pm #215489Don’t worry, as Swann says we’ve got 35 games to turn it around…and all it’s going to take is a little bit of energy and determination.
The guy is living in cloud cuckoo land.

He will support the manager in public until the moment he decides to sack him. Pretty much like every chairman does around the world.

You have the worst record of any Scunthorpe manager in recent history. The players clearly have no confidence in your ability to manage them. You’re a nice guy but you’re sacked.
Will that do?4 users thanked author for this post.

October 12, 2021 at 4:29 pm #215494And how many of those chairmen’s clubs had won only one of their last 24 games, including losing the last three by an aggregate of 2-13?
This is not a normal “poor run of form” it’s a bloody disaster three years in the making.
Nor is it 11 games into the season, it’s 57 league games in charge plus 8 cup competition matches that we’ve lost as well.
I sincerely hope that he’s doing something behind the scenes now, because if he’s following a “let’s wait and see” policy he really is in cloud cuckoo land!

October 12, 2021 at 5:02 pm #215495It’s the fans fault for not attending because you can’t run a football League club on less than 3 thousand crowd’s. Less than 3K he keeps Cox in charge and we become non league. More than 3k and we keep losing then he would have to replace Neil. What a f’ing mess we are in.

October 12, 2021 at 5:57 pm #215497You’re right Wondergoals. Swann sacked Paul Hurst just as we had started to play much better under him and it looked like we could be turning the corner. Swann didn’t sack him because of his football management, he sacked him because he spoke out and told the truth regarding not being given what was promised him. Swann doesn’t know the meaning of the word truth even if it jumped up and bit him on the bum. I’ve just been listening to the secretary of the Iron Trust on Radio Humberside. He said Swann keeps saying different things, I think that’s putting it mildly. Swanns either a liar or an imbecile or both if he believes what he is saying himself. The clown said this team are good enough to keep us in the league!!!!!

October 12, 2021 at 6:58 pm #215504I liked Hurst as well, Eisa, mcAtee and Gillead must have as well because he was getting a lot out of all 3 them.
As left toe said above, Swann said in his statement that with energy and determination we’ll turn it around.
Apparently having a manager who clearly can’t man manage players and who’s a dreadful tactician has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Absolute disgrace, he’s had near enough 2 fresh squads of players and has/had no real idea what to do with either. Only occasional brilliance and the 4 game run got us over the line last season and that was fluky to say the least.
Absolute piss take.

October 12, 2021 at 7:02 pm #215505Would like a statement from the players and manager apologizing for Saturdays debacle.
October 12, 2021 at 8:40 pm #215516They’ve been saying sorry every week after a loss and that they’ll put it right in training. I don’t want to hear it anymore.

October 12, 2021 at 9:41 pm #215517Maybe we should boycott the crap served up at the SVS on a Saturday and go and watch the fantastic football on show at the training sessions instead?

October 12, 2021 at 10:12 pm #215524Or….
We could all go and watch some footballers who appear to care at either Blundell Park or Sincil Bank?October 13, 2021 at 9:07 am #215536Sick and tired of what appears to directed at me – that because I am staying away I am putting the club at risk.
To confirm my previous support in that part season I did not ask for any money back for the unused season ticket games – I donated it to the club.
Last season I renewed my season ticket with no guarantee of live football. I did watch a few of the games under the F.O.C ifollow system. I stopped because of the shockingly poor level of football due to poor managerial decision making and the game targeting that was so obvious.
This season was the end, I no longer trust the leadership. I am sick and tired of the board attitude to the fans, how they are tolerated. And still they admit nothing just blame everyone else.

October 13, 2021 at 9:13 am #215537No need to excuse yourself SanFran, the club is not entitled to our money, pure & simple.
Can’t run the club with fewer than 3,000/home game?
18 Scunthorpe United 2,745 – 24th
19 Barrow 2,643 – 11th
20 Colchester United 2,583 – 20th
21 Forest Green Rovers 2,445 – 1st
22 Crawley Town 2,160 – 9th
23 Salford City 2,041 – 17th
24 Harrogate Town 2,027 – 2ndI know Salford & Forest Green are subsidised but how are Crawley & Barrow achieving such sorcery of being any good on such small crowds?

October 13, 2021 at 10:02 am #215543It was just the usual spin and PR bullshit presented in a slightly different way then the last statement. The little taster about the ground being transferred back at some point because things to put that right are being worked on blah blah blah. We are fu***d unless we get sold because the main man don’t give a toss anymore, end of.😡

October 13, 2021 at 10:22 am #215547Is it fair to ask if the interest left following the failed attempts at the reaching the Championship, new stadium complex and all the unfathomable riches he thought would come with that?
October 13, 2021 at 11:22 am #215551I totally agree Sanfran. I am sick and tired of Swann blaming the fans for the situation we are now in. Even if 4000 fans attended the games now this would not keep us in the football league, it would just line Swanns pockets. Swann is an absolute rubbish chairman and that is putting it mildly. He shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a football club ever again. He has got our Club in the mess we find ourselves now and never acknowledges any blame. He says one thing and means another and doesn’t know the meaning of the word truth. He must be the most hated person in Scunthorpe. In my opinion he doesn’t compare with Fenty he is worse than him. Remember the life-size cutout of himself he had in the exec lounge at the forums. What a pompous imbecile he really is.

Topics: 4Regardless of whether fans should turn up you never turn your ire on the fans as the chairman like that. If he is serious in wanting fans to return you have to treat fans with respect.

…and offer at least a little incentive to hand over your hard earned, you know like maybe winning more than 1 game in 24 attempts!
October 13, 2021 at 1:02 pm #215563Thanks Ferrite for those crowd stats. This shows and proves that Swanns knowledge on how to run a football league club is NIL!!!

A win that only came about because we were awarded a dubious penalty and the opposition managed zero shots on target!
So really it’s worse than the stats suggest.

October 13, 2021 at 1:58 pm #215566I was wondering how long it was going to take for someone to point this out NI, it is indeed further illustration of how bad things are.
October 13, 2021 at 3:30 pm #215567We had more fans until he started with the letters from solicitors ,blaming fans, marginalising shareholders, etc etc, even better results didn’t get him the crowds the previous owner did,Now the football is dire and every thing we hear is that its all everyone else’s fault.I reckon some humility and conciliatory tones would have been far more productive

October 13, 2021 at 7:23 pm #215584We had more fans until people stopped attending because of one man, I no it’s hard to believe but apparently that’s the case, not the shite football but one little man,i ask you.
October 13, 2021 at 7:26 pm #215587Yeah the man who runs the club dismissing his customers, its a business not our family. We owe him nothing ,
October 13, 2021 at 7:30 pm #215589But we owe our club everything.
October 13, 2021 at 7:33 pm #215590OK,its an opinion,no bearing on any facts but an opinion all the same
