quite out of order what he said in response to Karacan to be honest. Contradicted himself, blamed Karacan for the poor run of form after berating players publicly even though Cox did it several times. Stated things should remain in dressing rooms but he is always in the press spouting his behind the scenes versions of events
….oh and COVID hit us

He blamed Jem for the poor results after Morecambe – Jem is the reason Swann has a league club (maybe that irked him or delayed his flats). That wasn’t another side of the story.

July 2, 2021 at 10:46 pm #209611So sod all chance of Jem coming back then!
Did Ernie have anything positive to say? Or just shifting the blame to everyone but himself?

July 2, 2021 at 10:56 pm #209613Instead of kicking off at Karacan he should be calling out and sacking some of the couldn’t be arsed group.

July 3, 2021 at 2:03 am #209616Swann’s an absolute prat. Swann has his say on EVERYTHING to the press and now an ex player has come out and told an account of what happened last season “everything should be kept in house”
Never ceases to amaze me does old Swannster.
All karacan stated was what we all thought was going on anyway. Hardly a shock hearing him say it.
Anybody hoping and wishing he’s going to change are going to be waiting a hell of a long time.
Let’s have it right. Karacan dared to tell the truth to all at the club while he was here and the players in question along with those at the top clearly didn’t like it.
If Karacan fitted in and was respected he would have been offered a good contract, you would have thought that he would have been imperative.
I suspect Swannster didn’t like the fact he was outspoken.

July 3, 2021 at 6:42 am #209617I think that people on here should either be more a tad more careful in what they say or run pieces they intend to post past their solicitor first.
July 3, 2021 at 8:48 am #209620Same drivel as last summer. Exciting football. Great bunch of lads.
Fans are not mugs and can see the players in the building are relegation certainties.2 users thanked author for this post.

I think a lot of people are just sick of this whole bully boy saga which appears to surround our club les, people are frustrated as a result. Goodness knows what Steve Wharton must be thinking.

July 3, 2021 at 9:33 am #209622I’m certainly on your side!
July 3, 2021 at 9:52 am #209623We are all on the same side les and we have seen just what happens when football clubs are run in a certain way. The sad Bury saga is still fresh in the mind, Swindon are in a real mess and whilst we appear to be ticking along it’s the underlying details which are eroding fans confidence about what our club is turning into. Having no voice, being ignored, losing ground ownership, appearing to be taken for granted whilst listening to PR sound bites about SUFC just adds to the frustration. I know times change and nothing lasts forever but our club just doesn’t feel right anymore, I believe it’s in a dark place and we are just helpless on the sidelines looking in on a disaster unfolding before our eyes. It’s so bloody annoying.

July 3, 2021 at 10:46 am #209626Well said iron-awe.
Moving back to the interview, for me it felt like an opportunity to ask questions about this season and how are we going to address the problems so we don’t have another season the same. But for some reason the interview was focused on what happened last season which has gone now, surely we all want to know whats happening with player recruitment, is the budget blown already? Why do we need another defensive coach? Etc etc. Even when he said he pulled the plug on the contracts in january and decided to focus on signing other players in the summer, the interview should have questioned where are these players you were focusing on as you have had 7 months to bring them in. For me it just felt like a waste of everybody’s time and has just fuelled more bad feelings towards the club and the chairman.

UTI, you avoid commenting on the utter mess the club is in, then you post this, splitting the finest of hairs.
Do you agree with the majority that Peter Swann has run down the club to such an extent we will enter the new season as relegation candidates?
If not, why not? Where’s your usual optimistic spin?

July 3, 2021 at 11:54 am #209629UTI – what do you think gave Beestin the licence to press forward to put chances away? It certainly wasn’t Spence – Cox doesn’t see them working together at all – in fact I think he’s quite ambivalent with Spence (hence the new signing)
Karacan marshalling the back 4 and sitting in front of them Beestin became more assured to press forward. But that really wasn’t the agenda you were going for was it……

July 3, 2021 at 1:35 pm #209630Jem pinged a nerve there then ! Well done Jem. He hinted that several players were not interested on a regular basis. So why were they still in the squad ?
The item that shocked me was fans will be welcome back and hopefully cheer the players or boo if they so feel ! Perhaps any booing would be directed at the powers that be ! But that is unlikely they don’t make errors do they !
What about the player who left his match shirt in the dressing room and was needed at that time as a sub ? Yet was selected time and again, also did not read his pre-game coaching notes and again selected time and again. Any comment. But the one person who is trying make them act as professionals and earn their wages is the one got the blame !!

July 3, 2021 at 6:22 pm #209639As a previous booer it was always towards to the management and board, not the players. Swann needs more than a booing, he needs running out of town. With him on charge, we won’t have a club for much longer.

July 3, 2021 at 11:12 pm #209654I’m 100% with Jem
Well done and thanks for being so honest
Top man!!!
As for the interview on humberside with the chairman… WOW!! I was not a fan of this!!!
IMO…
I think it’s time Peter started to understand he needs to transform what happens on the pitch to sell season tickets and get people back believing… interviews and promises have become boring!! I don’t think we are buying it anymore.
I would Leave the spin to the politicians
I think Peter has done well to keep a lot of fans on his side for this long, in my opinion he’s losing the faith of these fans at rapid pace!!
There’s a good chance it Won’t be long before the home crowd turn on him at home games and that won’t be a nice place to be for himFinally…
Thanks Jem, absolutely outstanding interview!!
SUFC are a far worse team without you!!2 users thanked author for this post.
July 3, 2021 at 11:13 pm #209655It has always been hard listening to Ernest and his inflated ego.
So in my opinion once the ground disappeared from club ownership, the man has no tangiable platform on which to ponce from.
Actions speak louder than words and thus far apart from taking the ground, there is a lot more of the latter and NONE of the former.
Sir Ann Wank, Ash Worn-Sphincter and Ernest Pawn are a massive negative on our beloved Iron.

July 4, 2021 at 12:30 am #209658What was the shock statement from Mr Swann was when he said that we have a very good squad of players, and is hoping for supporters to turn up and watch them develop over the next three years, and he wants the young guys to play entertaining football!!!!!!, that comes after watching the shite offered to us over the past three seasons. Is he actually dreaming of fans sitting there with the team playing under Coxes instructions and playing entertaining football???????, Mr Peter is in for a big shock when the new season starts.
July 4, 2021 at 12:36 am #209660I think that people on here should either be more a tad more careful in what they say or run pieces they intend to post past their solicitor first.
I never pass what I say off as fact. I’m merely giving my opinion. I’ve never confessed to know about the inner workings of the club.
July 4, 2021 at 7:18 pm #209705…….Mr Swann said that we have a very good squad of players, and is hoping for supporters to turn up and watch them develop over the next three years……….
How do we develop !! Of the 21 contracted as of the 1st July we have 19 on 1 yr deals !!
As others say ‘Thank You JEM’ you told the truth to the fans much appreciated and so refreshing and yet he gets criticised ! Par for the course at this club.

July 4, 2021 at 7:42 pm #209707With SUFC appearing to be such a closed shop it makes you wonder if all player contracts now contain confidentiality clauses which run on even years after they have left. Jems interview certainly wasn’t appreciated by the hierarchy.
