We’ve no idea of the potential negotiations & or planning that could be taking place.
At the moment, the Clubs destiny is very much in the current owners hands.
I guess there are 4 options.
1] Carry on as things are and appoint another new manager.
2] Sell to new owners.
3] Liquidate the Club.
4] Dissolve the Club.
Interim Manager – hints at new owners or options 3 & 4 ?
If Daws was Caretaker Manager, then perhaps that hints that the current owner is planning on continuing ?
Without access to information – we’re all just ‘dancing in the dark’.
September 4, 2022 at 7:21 pm #244509Ffs just make a guess, are you wondergoal in disguised?
September 4, 2022 at 7:34 pm #244511Are we doing this like “Play Your Cards Right”?
If so, I’ll go higher!
September 4, 2022 at 7:53 pm #244514Rules wouldn’t allow the club to be dissolved so number 4 n/a. Liquidation would mean bringing a liquidator, administrator in who would then try and get a deal to sell the club, taking Swann out of the equation losing control of all assets and club bank accounts, far easier to sell it himself and likely to get more for it. So I would say number 3 highly unlikely at the moment. Hope for number 2 but 1 will do for now.

I think the current owner will continue to fund the Club until he sells it – which means it won’t go bust or bankrupt.
September 4, 2022 at 10:13 pm #244522My guess is that it will be announced in about February that the club cannot carry on the way it presently is, which is losing money each week, and with supporters not turning out and supporting the football club, the owner has nop other choice but to liquidate SUFC, and that he has done all that he possibly can do, but support has dropped off and that he cannot keep putting cash into the club in order to keep it going. So the blame will be placed on supporters which is typical of Swann.
His company which is in fact Swanns, will then own all the land package down at GP.
This is probably the fault of the Scunny supporters that have done nothing to nforce any information and just accepted and let things ride, which has seen our club drop from the League 1 play off position, to League 2 relegation, and to the BOTTOM PLACE in the National League in five years, some will say “what could we have done”, well you could have boycotted a couple of home matches and protested for one thing, instead of turning up at GP for every home match and either sat or stood there booing the team after conceeding another soft goal, and at half / full time after defeat and defeat every game.
Probably part of Swanns plans are to starve fans of any info to sicken off some of what few supporters that keep turming up, this is not what we want, but life cannot be enhanced by watching the shite that is being served up every week, I have attended for 70 years, but not attended one game during 2020, 2021 or this season, and hnestly have noy missed it one bit after hearing match details that are less than being grim!!!!

Does Scunthorpe United have any assets or do COOLSILK own the assets?, if he puts Scunthorpe United up for administration will it affect COOLSILK if that is a separate entity? Would any potential new buyers have to rent the ground off COOLSILK if that were the case?

The Warning signs were there a couple of years ago, Max Bell(For all his faults) mentioned it in the SET (Remember them?), But the Coffee Club denied it all, said things would work out, all and sundry would be holidaying in Blackpool during the summer and United would be quids in.
Well how did that go…

But aren’t we now running at cost according to a previous chairman statement?

September 5, 2022 at 11:31 am #244535The owner is the owner whether it be Swanny or coolsilk doesn’t really matter which, if the football club is separate to coolsilk and we do go into administration then yes we would have to pay rent, the last we heard on that was no rent till we make a reasonable profit, an agreement must be in place already to protect both parties.

Thanks AWG.
What if the current owner decides to ‘shut shop’.
Settles any debts, then pays everybody (staff) up and then liquidates?I thought a solvent company can apply to be struck off of companies house?
Then a members voluntary liquidation begins? If there are no legal disputes or outstanding contracts and no creditors – then is there really that much for a liquidator to do?
* meet deadlines for paperwork and keep authorities informed.
* pay liquidation costs and the final VAT bill.
* interview the directors and report on what went wrong in the business.
* get the company removed from the companies register.
Jesus, we used to talk about football.

That could take some time, alternatively they could just read the last few years Bru which will tell them all they need to know.
September 5, 2022 at 2:40 pm #244540How can you start an MVL when the starting point states the company must have completed its business, (info from the gazette) which would take us back to your number3,

It’s not an area I’m familiar with, which is why I am asking.
I’m aware of the gazette, I’ll have to do some reading.1 user thanked author for this post.

Not so sure about that awaywego because it would be in his nature to steer clear of one. Hope you’re right though. Wonder if anyone knows for certain?

September 5, 2022 at 8:02 pm #244550Done some more digging and rental agreements can be in writing and or verbal both classed as a legal contract, ours is even in print evening telegraph 23rd April 2021, 999 year protection and we only have to pay rent when we can afford to.

September 5, 2022 at 8:13 pm #244551I suppose there might be some debate over ‘when we can afford to’, should it come to that.
September 6, 2022 at 12:09 pm #244571FFS, a sweepstake on how long our beloved club will last? Is this what we’ve been reduced to? Forever is my answer…

September 6, 2022 at 3:22 pm #244581If it helps stop talk of liquidation it can only be a good thing in my eyes.
September 6, 2022 at 4:09 pm #244584What’s that? Did somebody say ‘liquidation’?

More like liquid nation, it helps to be two parts pissed before you enter GP on matchday.
