March 6, 2024 at 7:23 pm #282251Most club owners don’t have the money to execute their plan they just borrow or loan as the case may be. He just stopped just liked Swanny when he got pissed off .

March 6, 2024 at 8:35 pm #282253Free speech, surely they’ve the right to say what they like? They pay their entrance fee and are entitled to an opinion, even if it differs from other peoples?
March 6, 2024 at 9:13 pm #282255Interesting that fans who have spent a lot of money travelling to Darlington twice get criticised for venting their anger at the players, for certainly one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen. But, if the same fans chant abuse at a poor ref, or “get your ti*s out for the lads” at a female official or opposition physio virtually nothing is said or it is dismissed as banter, or they should expect it.
I felt robbed of £9.50 watching it on National League tv in the comfort of my home.3 users thanked author for this post.
March 6, 2024 at 9:22 pm #282256It was awful. No getting away from it and feel for those who travelled. Hope some heart is shown in the next match.

I felt robbed of £9.50 watching it on National League tv in the comfort of my home.In order for your point to work you’d need examples of the same person or people criticising fans for abusing players and Dean as they did in the clip, but not saying anything when supporters shout sexist abuse or abuse at refs. That’s pretty unlikely. In any case there has been criticisms of sexist abuse on here (maybe not refs).
March 6, 2024 at 10:54 pm #282266At most Scunthorpe matches I hear abuse of refs and assistants (yes, many have made abysmal decisions but get abuse nonetheless), if there is female ref, assistant or physios they will get the “get your ti** out for the lads “ chant.
I don’t see any specific topics on here about it, so why is shouting abuse at players and managers who have had an abysmal game worthy of any additional comment.
I don’t condone any abuse and wouldn’t engage in it myself, but it is clear a blind eye is turned by pretty much everyone to the usual match day stuff. The club might make a tannoy announcement and that’s it.March 7, 2024 at 1:18 am #28227364 just must think people are robots with no emotions. I’d like to bet a large number of those fans shouting abuse are the one’s that have made that trip twice to be there to watch that utter shite.
You can understand people being pissed off. I was fuming and I watched it on national league tv and only paid £10 and I was nice and warm.
If I made two trips to be there for that game to turn up and watch that utter crap, my blood would have been boiling. That was absolutely pathetic.

March 7, 2024 at 6:39 am #282280Booing is wholly sufficient. It says it all. Anything above and beyond that is unacceptable.

March 7, 2024 at 7:17 am #282282In a Jeremy Kyle world it may be acceptable to be such an abusive yob but in any decent word it’s not, trust me these fit strong players would wipe the floor with these little yobs if there wasn’t a huge FA consequence and these little aresholes know it. quickly ,anyone claiming it’s just passion or freedom of speech is a complete and utter mindless moron. They have no respect for themselves or anyone else. Not one of would do that to another humsn if not in a baying mob or protected by FA rules and stewards “holding them back”. They’re idiots

March 7, 2024 at 7:23 am #282286That level of abuse wouldn’t be acceptable in any other job. It’s one thing shouting how rubbish the players and manager were, it’s quite another repeatedly shouting vile moronic abuse like that. If they hate the players and management that much, stop going.

March 7, 2024 at 7:32 am #282287A few more things; that level of abuse won’t get a tune out the players, it’ll turn them off if anything, hence ‘moronic’. Also, not helped by video footage of an Iron Hour crew member effin and jeffin all through a match, with kids and youths around and it being treated with respect. Yes, he may have apologised but happy to take the many plaudits. State of these people. Get a grip!
March 7, 2024 at 8:05 am #282294I get it now, It would seem you’re taking the chance to have a dig at the iron hour people, particularly Bell. I don’t watch them, I wrote them off totally over their performances with Hilton, and there is too much swearing in their podcasts, I’m late to the party on here but there’s obviously no love lost between you moderators on here and them – probably rightly so.
However don’t lump me or any other posters on here as “a complete and utter mindless moron” for expressing an opinion about annoyed supporters shouting at players after a garbage performance, when it is apparently acceptable for you guys to post stuff like this :That is online bullying of Dean, and there’s many more similar comments in other topics.

Dean’s only bought Pedigree Chum at JD Sports.

No. It’s clear you’ve not read my posts on this subject properly at all. It’s not about you at all. The reference to them was merely pointing out that that sort of behaviour isn’t helped by one certain video clip doing the rounds. You are putting 2+2 together and making 5. I’m not lumping you or others commenting on this thread in with those yobs who are in the clip on the opening post. Unless you were one, then it applies. It’s about common decency. A strange mindest some of you have though if you think because someone pays to attend gives them the right to behave however they want and say anything they want.

So you’re comparing a humorous clip from Kes to criticisms of those fans in the opening post clip? Yeah, that really works…
You’re wasting your time with ‘moderator union’jibes aswell. There’s plenty I’ve disagreed with 64 about on Bru and vice versa. So that’s irrelevant too.
March 7, 2024 at 8:46 am #282307So it is ok to take the piss on here ? It’s just a humorous clip, yes I am comparing it to someone shouting at the ground.
What gives the right to anyone to give their opinion on here just for signing up with anonymous usernames ? Maybe it is a right to free speech which is rightly limited by the laws of the land preventing threatening, abusive or insulting stuff particularly regarding racism and discrimination.
A lot of football supporters shout their opinions at players, management and officials, unfortunately if they didn’t there would be zero atmosphere.
The players and management in particular want that atmosphere in their favour so can’t pick and choose when their own performance causes the same people to vent their feelings negatively.
For what it’s worth I have never booed at my team, ever. And I wouldn’t have done at Darlo, if I’d been there, but I understand not everyone has my own personal restraint.
I have shouted directly at one player, once, and on the way home I felt that as badly as he had played I shouldn’t have said it, and I feel guilty about to this day. That was Matt Carmichael playing centre half away at Colchester, and he had a shocker and we lost. I don’t think I even swore but directly shouted that I thought he’d had a garbage game.March 7, 2024 at 8:48 am #282308I think TJO was taking exception to 64 saying ‘mindless moron’ and took your agreement over this specific issue to mean that you stand with that characterisation. Personally, I don’t think the abuse will help anything, and will just demotivate players further, so it’s a fool’s errand. I have had bad days at work and wouldn’t want my bosses and colleagues chanting abuse at me as I leave for home at the end of the day. I know football is a bit different in the nature of support, but some understanding is surely possible.
Though, I think there is a difference between airing an opinion on a football forum and shouting at players. The former can be ignored by the players or coaching staff, the latter is harder to.
March 7, 2024 at 8:52 am #282310Most of those particular players on Tuesday are done with this club Siderite, and I think those fans, Dean and the players knew it.
March 7, 2024 at 8:54 am #282311Dean’s only got a pedigree at Peterborough Sports?
Dean’s only bought Pedigree Chum at JD Sports.
Watch it, that comment could be compared to supporters shouting vile moronic abuse at club staff.

So are you saying it’s acceptable or understandable to behave as those supporters in the clip did? Genuine question.

Woof!
March 7, 2024 at 8:58 am #282315If you don’t think that players, managers and club officials don’t look on here and read what is said about them you’re kidding yourself.
March 7, 2024 at 8:58 am #282316Just what is it with this club??
March 7, 2024 at 9:02 am #282317If you don’t think that players, managers and club officials don’t look on here and read what is said about them you’re kidding yourself.
They don’t have to read it though. It is possible to ignore. They can’t avoid people yelling at them.

I’m saying I understand why they felt the need to let those players know how badly they rated there performance and the players want the adulation at other end of the scale when they do well or at least try. If we stop that as unacceptable then the match day atmosphere is finished.
Are you saying it is acceptable to make humorous topics on here mocking the ability of someone trying to do their job ? Genuine question.
March 7, 2024 at 9:07 am #282320If you don’t think that players, managers and club officials don’t look on here and read what is said about them you’re kidding yourself.
Where did I say or insinuate that they didn’t? Maybe you could have cited better examples than a harmless Kes clip I dunno. Anyway, clear we don’t see eye to eye on this subject, so be it.

Yes. Totally.
