A decision which can make a huge difference.
From the Telegraph regarding our Fishy Friends.“But a number of initiatives by fans, including a crowdfunding campaign set up by Richard Ladd, have helped the club financially during the months since the lockdown started.”
1.Grimsby Town fan Richard Ladd has thanked fellow supporters after a crowdfunding campaign he set up raised more than £12,000 for the football club.
2.A “Net a share of the Mariners” campaign by the Mariners Trust fans’ group, which has raised more than £70,000.
3. More than £60,000 has been added through season ticket holders opting not to claim refunds for the matches which were not played as the League Two season came to an early end. *Note the word opting*The Chairman’s response “I know we have the greatest fans but your support during these difficult times has been outstanding.”
Makes you think.

July 29, 2020 at 11:11 am #192602The Iron Trust has raised the issue of whether the club has handled the season ticket refund well or not and has asked for feedback from members if they wish to comment. This was done on here earlier but it does seem the type of options used by other clubs has been received reasonably well by sections of their fanbases as has the Scunny option by some TBF. We all have different opinions on this but for me I don’t see myself investing in a season ticket next season and will pick and choose my games, if any, which I choose to attend depending on the rules applicable at the time. The club can keep my money from last season’s unused games and I personally don’t care about a different approach on a refund as it doesn’t interest me anyway. After turning 65 this summer I have entered the ” cheap zone ” when it comes to the entrance fee on match day so I’m quite chilled about it all. Next season will be my cheapest for a along time watching the Iron, if we are allowed to and if I indeed choose to.
July 29, 2020 at 12:03 pm #192603” if I indeed choose to.” that’s the key for me – a choice.
” it does seem the type of options used by other clubs has been received reasonably well by sections of their fanbases as has the Scunny option by some TBF” – but the ‘Scunny option’ wasn’t an option, it was an imposition.July 29, 2020 at 12:44 pm #192606Embraced or alienated?
I know how I feel.
July 29, 2020 at 1:08 pm #192608Sorry Cass I inserted the wrong option when I said option, either way my position doesn’t change but I appreciate the clubs stand will have miffed a few.
July 29, 2020 at 1:39 pm #192611As much as I hate the cod heads fair play to there fans down the years they coughed up, in the 70s and in 2015 to raise enough money to buy players.Just a reminder I have said scunny fans are the worst and nothing on here has made me change my mind.

July 29, 2020 at 5:19 pm #192621For someone who was against lockdown he certainly needs to get out more!
July 29, 2020 at 8:01 pm #192625Will Matron allow it?
It’s our time.
