We could be spared embarrassment by having crowd restrictions being imposed at the start of the season. When we get 1500 (our limit maybe) then the management will assume that there are another 2000 that were hoping to get in and, as far as they’re concerned, everything will be rosy. By the time the crowd restrictions are lifted we’ll be unbeaten, 10 points clear at the top and the 4000 will be accomodated, nothing to worry about.
(OK I might have made the last bit up)BTW I saw the chairman on TV yesterday from Beverley races where his horses performed in very similar fashion to his football team – coincidence maybe?

May 30, 2021 at 3:32 pm #207830Got our three season tickets, hope Sam comes back personally. UTWI
May 30, 2021 at 5:25 pm #207831It’s very sad to read Cass, we can’t help what goes on in-between them lug holes in people, you would think after all them years they would know what goes on in football, but it’s an easy get out for anyone isn’t it, BS has been trying to find excuses for a couple of seasons he was going to stop going at one point if they kept playing Novac, but letting him go to Bradford scuppered that, why don’t people just stop going and stop making a song and dance about it, personally i am quite happy with less season ticket holders, wanted 4 tickets for Rotherham playoffs but could only get 2 wouldn’t have got any if 2 weren’t kindly offered to us.

Topics: 11Some ‘fans’ opinions on here are beyond bizarre. We are Scunthorpe United, since when did ANY of us follow the club based on great football and winning promotions?
Get behind the PLAYERS on the pitch. That’s what football is about.

May 31, 2021 at 9:35 am #207835The PLAYERS on the pitch are a large part of the problem.
Along with who put them there in the first place.

The players have to earn support, they’re not entitled to it if they’re not doing their bit on the pitch and last season (and earlier) many weren’t. If we see a “can’t be bothered” attitude on the pitch then you shouldn’t be surprised to see a similar attitude from fans.3 users thanked author for this post.

Are you still going on about the end of May deadline? Cox said it won’t happen, he’s the boss.”How you can post this and accuse other posters of having opinions “beyond bizarre” is, quite frankly, baffling.
BTW still waiting for those reasons to be positive and optimistic that you were asked for several times, are you ready to share yet?May 31, 2021 at 11:31 am #207841Waste of time ‘tash!
The “holier than thou” brigade seldom answer questions.
I’m still waiting for a shed load on t’other board.
May 31, 2021 at 12:43 pm #207842“The players have to earn support” Every game I’ve ever been to the players have my support it’s a given they don’t have to earn it, of course if their playing shite as a team or individually I will castigate them, but then get behind them and encourage them again. Are you one of them Cass who turn up with a predetermined attitude that your to going to slag them off because of a poor performance in the last game? Plenty do.
May 31, 2021 at 1:01 pm #207843No.
May 31, 2021 at 6:39 pm #207844Well that’s good to hear Cass,so like UTI says let’s get behind the players on the pitch.
May 31, 2021 at 6:59 pm #207845Which ones?
Thought we’d got rid of them all!
May 31, 2021 at 8:15 pm #207853Well that’s good to hear Cass,so like UTI says let’s get behind the players on the pitch.
I support the Club, I can’t help it, sometimes I wish I could. I also give my support to those players who give their all when playing for the Iron. I have no time for those who just turn up for the money with no pride in their performance nor any interest in where the Club, my Club, goes in the future. Sorry if that offends anybody.

June 7, 2021 at 4:04 pm #208108Heaven help us if this turns out to be true. Minimal improvement on Watson, and not the answer.

June 7, 2021 at 8:08 pm #208158Slocombe made some fantastic saves the other day and is mainly the reason County are still in the playoffs.

I thought Slocombe in the promotion season was very, very good…didn’t he win the golden glove award ?
33yrs old now, more games under his belt and seen him a few times for Notts County and looks a much better keeper. One thing I did notice was that he was way more commanding than he used to be, which was one of this downsides.

Certainly did win the golden glove award, and how many penalties did he save?
I thought the other day his distribution was brilliant aswell.
June 8, 2021 at 10:02 am #208205I always liked Slocombe but there was a certain section of the fans which never took to him, not sure why.
I thought it was such a shame that his Iron career was allowed to finish the way it did, with that awful broken arm & then allowed to leave at the end of the season.
I’m sure we’ve had better keepers than Slocombe but we’ve had plenty worse, especially since he left.

Well we will soon see if that’s true. Notts County have just lost 4-2 to Torquay.
June 22, 2021 at 1:28 pm #209054I heard today Sam signed a new deal with his club notts county, what have you heard smudger.
June 22, 2021 at 5:13 pm #209070Why would he come to a club run like ours is, with a reputation for negative dour football?
Would you?
June 22, 2021 at 6:49 pm #209076Well he would see more of the ball here Alcy, obviously didn’t want to earn his money and took the easy option.
