As someone with little knowledge in the area, why would the accounts be delayed ending up to June 22? If anything is sinister in there wouldn’t it only reflect negatively on Swann?

Isn’t it less a case of something ‘sinister’ and more a concern about the club seemingly not submitting accounts on time, after an extension, picking up an unnecessary fine and getting a bad mark with Companies House? Added to that, they need to be submitted soon before more reprisals. The last one being struck off! Have no fear – I know someone with a really good track record in this area. Don’t think it’s anyone you know though…

Would appear their mods are a lot quicker then ours, however we are a democracy on this forum, is that the difference?

I’m not reading too much into this *just yet* as it could well be a legitimate mistake / delay however; we do need to keep a keen eye on this as I believe the current custodian of our club has had a company struck off by Companies House recently due to not filing accounts.

In this instance the numbers are irrelevant as far as I’m concerned for the reason you state. However, in the interview the club released on 02/04/23, Hilton said the accounts were complete but he wanted his accountant to look over them before they were submitted to Companies House. He went on to say that due to his accountant having Covid, the accounts would be submitted W/C 03/04/23. This hasn’t happened.

For me, it’s about doing what you have said you are going to do.

“For me, it’s about doing what you have said you are going to do.” like buying the ground?

Maybe when he said he’d bought it he was basing that on a handshake and a verbal agreement, perhaps he didn’t know who he was dealing with.?

It doesn’t excuse him for misleading, even if well intentioned. If it wasn’t set in stone, he shouldn’t have made out it was.

Tell you what then, to cheer you all up. Hilton sells the club and we go back to being deep in the brown stuff and you can all stop moaning.

We’ve been told why the sale fell through. Swann was being an arse and not sorting out things that he should have sorted out for the sale to go ahead.

I don’t know what more you all want ?. Really strong squad we’ve put together with more to come in, we’re on the verge of purchasing a new training facility ” supposed to be Quibell Park “.

Stop nitpicking and get behind the owner, management and players. New season equals new start.

‘We’ve been told why the sale fell through.’

Critical thinking ain’t your strong point is it.

‘perhaps he didn’t know who he was dealing with.?’

    Ah, yeah, that’ll be it.

Best laugh I’ve had all day. Keep up the good work! 👍

Yes, the only alternative to Hilton not misleading back in January was to just leave us in the brown. Saying that he’s pushing for the ground, and not launching schemes related to the ground when it was uncertain was definitely not an option. We all know Swann is an arsehole, but that doesn’t mean I am going to be impressed by false positives.

There has been some good stuff happening, but I will critique as I see fit, and Hilton saying that he had agreed a deal for the ground, when he hadn’t yet, is worthy of it.

Hilton saying that he had agreed a deal for the ground, when he hadn’t yet

But he DID agree a deal, the seller then moved the goal posts.

There’s only so much you can dress that up. I am sceptical of the ransom land being that much of an issue from what legal bods have said and the inflated price was not an issue at the start. Fact is he said the deal was done, and it wasn’t.

If Swann was messing him around, which maybe caused doubts over its success, don’t advertise ground schemes to the fans?

Genuine enquiry not an attempt to stir – Why was there no issue with the ‘ransom land’ when Swann bought from Wharton?

‘the seller then moved the goal posts.’

Evidence? Some are keen to request evidence when it suits. Where’s the evidence for this? Someone saying it at a closed shop forum, and not publishing it after the event doesn’t count as evidence btw.
