The current situation at Matlock Town FC, with members being forced in to a decision to either continue with David Hilton’s involvement and give him full ownership, or continuing to be fan led, highlights the importance of increasing Iron Trust membership and having more opportunity to control our own fate in the future. Waiting to see if they have devised a way for the trust to raise funds on a monthly basis that will yield a seat on the board.
Prefer any extra of my money going this way in light of the debacle with the FC concoction ! How long had talks been going on and who made contact with who first ? Even more wary hearing the possible stepping back of Michelle.

I would certainly pay a monthly subscription to be a member of the Iron Trust, on the proviso that a large proportion of additional funds was used to buy shares, and that a seat on the board was forthcoming in recognition of the nature of the organisation, perhaps once a set shareholding had been reached. That’s how the Club can actually and properly demonstrate its seriousness about deep and meaningful supporter engagement – not this fluffy fan role they’ve recently touted.

I would also pay a monthly or yearly subscription happily.
I believe many would – though some wouldn’t. This is a point I’ve raised before. Tier the membership, so the number of votes per person reflects contributions – those who only want to pay £10 for life (1 vote), £10 per season (2 votes), or £10 per month (10 votes). Or whatever…

There’s nothing stopping you at the moment contributing monthly there hardly likely to turn money down.
That’s absolutely correct – and people do already contribute to the Trust regularly through other fundraising things they do. Here, we’re talking about expanding the parameters of the membership scheme (so that there is a significant and predictable flow of money).

Let’s see those direct debits or standing orders being set up.There isn’t but you gleefully neglect Apollo’s points. Something along the lines of tiered membership with either more votes or other small but significant benefits in return for a higher subscription would act as an incentive. None of us are rich philanthropists with deep pockets. Some meaningful recognition commensurate with the level of donation is a standard membership model.
