January 24, 2024 at 10:28 am #279766Torquay at 2pm was a memorably late call-off. Cheltenham went about 1pm too.

Was that the one where some early arriving Iron fans had been helping to clear the pitch and were offered free tickets for the rearranged game?
I remember going all the way up to Hartlepool one Boxing Day only to have the game called off just after we arrived.
January 24, 2024 at 12:34 pm #279780we just got to the motorway turn off for Hatlepool that Boxing Day when it was announced, so then we crossed the motorway and came straight home, the Sun was shining as well
January 24, 2024 at 12:45 pm #279783Yeah, my lad and I were driving down but we hadn’t reached the A19 when it was announced on the radio.
Must have been well over an hour before Kickoff though.
January 24, 2024 at 1:50 pm #279785I was on the supporters’ coach and we’d got there just before the players turned up. There were rumours of a postponement due to the part of the pitch in the shadow of the stand being frozen. As the players got off the bus, I said to Wayne Graves “you can play on that, can’t you?”, he replied “I can’t, I’m dropped”. Awkward.

January 25, 2024 at 4:57 pm #279856Didn’t they say they forgot to turn it on or something? There was some feeble excuse I think. Didn’t know till we rocked up at 2:30 and wondered why it was so dead round there. Ended up on the lash all afternoon. No bad thing but I could have done that after the match anyway.
January 25, 2024 at 5:45 pm #279857I’d been at work in the morning and not heard the Hereford home game was called off
Got to Berkeley Circle saw people coming back saying it was offJanuary 25, 2024 at 6:45 pm #279859Bloody hell Deerey they called it off just after 10am, what were you and your mates doing playing the equivalent of Whamageddon, wed just gone past Peterborough, some turned straight back at Kings Cross and blagged it home we went sightseeing. Remember falling out with women from the “women against Trump march” outside the back passage of the Golden Fleece(great real ale pub) my support of him didn’t go down well, did the pub where the rules of football was wrote before we came home.thanks for the memories Deerey happy days.
January 25, 2024 at 10:18 pm #279867It was called off at 10am?? I was already in London from the Friday night and we’d been out till late. Got up late and met a few more friends at a pub in Greenwich around midday. A lot of catching up to do and I suppose no one thought to check if it had been postponed. Just assumed with the undersoil heating that the game wasn’t in doubt. I was staying down there Saturday night anyway so it probably wasn’t crucial to us to check for updates. Don’t think I really looked at Twitter back then either.
