Apologies for going off piste, but did you think Will Smith actually connected with Chris Rocks face, very John wayneish Imo.
Unless they dubbed on the slap noise later, after all it is the film industry we are talking about. Spot the difference, ordinary Joe attempts a punch ( we are led to believe ) misses get gets thrown out of a public place in handcuffs. Mega celebrity slaps another celebrity in public place, walks off stage then returns twenty minutes later to receive an Oscar for his excellent work in the film industry.
Same old story, one law for the poor another for the wealthy.
Smith should have been arrested and taken into custody by the Police for assault, instead he got an Oscar.2 users thanked author for this post.

March 29, 2022 at 4:59 pm #234573It’s progress MK that a black guy is allowed to become successful through his talent and acquire wealth as a result but black or white are not above the law, if they are then that is a regression in acceptable behaviour.

Better keeping control and keeping it in house.
March 29, 2022 at 6:58 pm #234582It probably is better but possibly more expensive? Do other clubs like ours (sic) have in house security?

March 30, 2022 at 6:44 pm #234621Statement taken from the security team at RS Security Services LTD …….
Directors Statement
Incident 26.03.2022
I am aware of the Incident which has caused some negativity from the recent pitch encroachment at SUFC.
The actions taken by my staff were Justified, Authorised, and Proportionate to the situation.
Whilst we always aim to not use force, should you physically attack our staff, we have a right to defend ourselves under common law.
The tactical option to prevent further harm to my staff, the perpetrator and the wider public was rigid handcuffs. Although not common in this area of operations it was the right option to use as opposed to physical force or heavy handed tactics.
The negativity on social media is nothing new when we carry out our duties. However those who have now chosen to target our staff personally making threats of violence towards them and their families has been reported to Humberside Police.
RS Security Services Ltd will not tolerate violence, threats or intimidation to our staff. We will fully support any prosecution raised to bring those who can’t behave themselves to justice.

March 30, 2022 at 7:21 pm #234625The way that Security Firm Director has put things in his statement makes it sound like he’s involved in some sort of military conflict every other Saturday.

March 30, 2022 at 7:27 pm #234628Well Richard Short let’s hope you have heeded the announcement of the people who employ you and your staff on match day at Scunthorpe United FC who have stated on their own website that such an occurrence of a member of the public being handcuffed within the ground will not happen again. If it does happen expect your contract at Scunthorpe United FC to be terminated as you will be in breach of the club owners wishes. Your company may well face prosecution as a result of such action IMO.
March 30, 2022 at 7:56 pm #234633Go on the link Ironlion82 and go through his photo’s, he has more rifles than you can shake your fist at,sub machine guns, rocket launchers that wouldn’t be a miss in Ukraine, and if that fat bastard is him lifting the weights I will let Ironawe1 have the first pop. lol.

If you get offended by a violent person being handcuffed you should seek help.

March 30, 2022 at 9:10 pm #234642I don’t think security guards can handcuff anyone unless they are a danger to others or themselves, and it is a citizens arrest, certainly hope we don’t see that again.

Yep correct they should be binned by the club, there is no need for handcuffs unless the Police deem them necessary and in football grounds they have never needed to be used and don’t need using now. The club sets the agenda for the firm’s they employ as matchday security and if the firm employed cannot conduct themselves as instructed they should be kicked out and get some proper professionals in to do the job as requested properly.

March 30, 2022 at 9:57 pm #234651UTI99, in my opinion your approach to this issue is dogmatic and would only add fuel to the fire. This is bigger than this particular incident on Saturday and it’s in the club’s best interests to view the situation holistically and take action that reduces the risk of it happening again. In my view that would be to end the contract with the current suppler and tender for a firm that understands crowd control at sporting occasions and would mitigate the real possibility of it happening again. The club can ill afford to lose any more support and goodwill at this time.
I don’t agree with Short’s statement here either:
‘Although not common in this area of operations it was the right option to use as opposed to physical force or heavy handed tactics.’
‘As opposed to physical force or heavy handed tactics’!!?? I wouldn’t like to see what they do deem as physical force or heavy handed tactics! Whatever next?

March 30, 2022 at 11:16 pm #234655They acted professionally, as they were trained to use them and they did so. Nobody got injured in the process, so job done.
In my day a copper would have given the lad a slap with his truncheon and then beaten him up in the van on the way to the nick.
Times change.

March 31, 2022 at 12:05 am #234657The whole point is that the job could have been done a lot differently and a lot better. Like UTI99’S approach, your similarly dogmatic approach isn’t a progressive one, and if the security firm continue with it, it will only lead to further problems down the line.
