I’m not sure you know. Grimsby won today against all ods..all they need to do now is get a bit of confidence going and chalk off 3 games on the trot and we’re in deep shit.
I can’t see us winning another game this season. Players are shite and Cox’s tactics are just as bad.
People think we’re definitely safe but I wouldn’t bank on it. 1 win should do it, but the way the team/club is at the moment I can’t see it coming.
I’m genuinely worried.

April 17, 2021 at 4:49 pm #204913I blame the podcast boys!
They keep saying we’re safe. I wish they wouldn’t!

April 17, 2021 at 5:28 pm #204919I said a couple of days ago we are relying on other clubs to keep us up, and after 2 years ago I won’t be happy until we are safe.

April 17, 2021 at 5:58 pm #204922Yes Mick.
Five games left, we only need to win one, but….
2019 all over again!
April 17, 2021 at 6:07 pm #204923Colchester and Southend have to play each other so that’s in our favour.
April 17, 2021 at 6:32 pm #204925We’ll finish 22nd and we will have lost most games in whole division is my prediction

If Southend win it isn’t in our favour. I would rather Southend were against a good side. Colchester are on the slide so it will give Southend every chance.

April 17, 2021 at 8:02 pm #204932Colchester won tonight so a win v Southend puts Southend down barring mathematical miracle and most likely Grimsby with them
April 17, 2021 at 8:07 pm #204935Fingers crossed. We’ll be relying on Grimsby to not carry any confidence forward from today’s win against Bolton.
Hopefully today’s win for a flash in the pan.
Soon as we’re safe and this season’s over the better.
April 17, 2021 at 8:13 pm #204936I don’t think we are mathematically safe yet but looking at the fixtures of teams below us I can’t see how we would finish in the bottom two, it could be close and as IA says we could easily finish 22nd.
If the prawns objective was to stay in the league at minimum cost in this nothing of a season then he will just about succeed unlike the Cods who’s low cost approach looks like failing.
The concern will then be next year as the long term outcome for a low cost approach is failure.
Lots needs to change for next season, and I am not convinced about Cox, he talks a good game but that’s about all, maybe next season with different tools things may be different.
April 17, 2021 at 10:39 pm #204945maybe next season with different tools things may be different.
I’m sure a different set of tools is being lined up as we speak!

April 18, 2021 at 5:17 pm #204965We’ve taken 5 points from the last 18 available, Colchester 6, Southend 7, Barrow 8, and Grimsby 9. This shows we have the worst form in the bottom 5, and at the wrong time of the season. That said, I think the bottom two are running out of available games, and we should be safe.
April 18, 2021 at 6:12 pm #204966We may not have been challenging for promotion but I am sure we would not be in this situation.
The issues are targeting – stop setting up to deal with opponents !
Stick to 4 4 2.
Stop putting recently injured players straight back in the team – how many times this season have we seen players get injured within a couple of games !
Stop selecting the same failures week after week !
Give the ignored, the forgotten few a chance. Why can’t they be a success.3 users thanked author for this post.
April 18, 2021 at 8:00 pm #204968Please, somebody with authority read this and take notice. You know it makes sense.
April 18, 2021 at 9:00 pm #204969Maybe stop putting injured players on the pitch like he did with Clark, but when a player is fit put them straight back in the starting eleven, it’s the only sensible thing to do, I want Howard back in goal the minute he’s got the all clear. Holding fit players back would only encourage the same failures been picked week after week.
April 19, 2021 at 8:33 am #204970We will stay up this season.
April 19, 2021 at 11:18 am #204981It felt like I stayed up Saturday night as I could not sleep thinking off all the scenarios and combinations of us falling through the non league trapdoor. Two big games this week if we don’t win one we could be in real trouble. Best case scenario Tuesday would be Cods to loose us and Colchester to win. That’s us safe with four games to go,will it happen I shouldn’t think so.
April 19, 2021 at 11:44 am #204984More likely to get 3 draws than 1 win, I’m sure that will be the manager’s plan.
April 19, 2021 at 12:57 pm #204989If any of these premier division clubs have signed a document to breakaway they should be immediately relegated to the bottom of league 2.

April 19, 2021 at 2:40 pm #204997That will just give them the opportunity they’ve been looking for to play their U21s in the lower leagues though.
April 19, 2021 at 2:56 pm #205002We will stay up this season.
This, however I will add by skin of teeth. Or is that a given anyway.😬 🤔

April 19, 2021 at 3:07 pm #205007I reckon the gap will be 4-5 points by the end of the season. Expect Grimsby & Southend to win a couple more games but it won’t be enough.
April 24, 2021 at 6:45 pm #205380The Cods or us that is the question.
We won’t get another point so our fishy friends have it all to play for.
They have to play Exeter and Cambridge away and Port vale at home.
I think we are doomed.
What do others think.

April 24, 2021 at 6:58 pm #205383Cods can’t possibly win their last three games and we’ve got a much superior goal difference.
April 24, 2021 at 7:30 pm #205390They could do it with 2 wins and a draw BobbyG and at present we could easily ship a cartload of goals.

April 24, 2021 at 9:22 pm #205398Hmm… you’re right BFB, however the bookies have us at 50/1 to be relegated and they’re usually right. Just to be on the safe side though I’ve wagered a tenner, worth it if we stay up and some consolation if we don’t!!

April 24, 2021 at 9:52 pm #205405Let’s hope in 3 games time we are staying up not throwing up.

April 25, 2021 at 10:33 am #205429The cods are starting to smell your shirt pants down the M180,the cods are in a better place mentally than you lot, there resigned to relegation but still have that little bit of belief they could escape, anybody still want the cods to stay up?.
April 25, 2021 at 10:56 am #205435Despite the fact that we look unlikely to get anymore points this season I still feel we’ll stay up. Mainly because the chasing pack will run out of matches. That said, it is gonna be close, VERY close.
April 25, 2021 at 11:15 am #205442We look unlikely to score another goal this season, so we’re reduced to cheering on Exeter, Port Vale & Cambridge.
