Reminded me of when I use to play at Ashby Ville.

December 22, 2024 at 9:16 am #295890Not having been for a while I was disappointed with the pitch on the edges, not really up to standard, whether it was a bad season I don’t know – I’ve seen a few others not quite up to scratch. They probably tried to etch out a sponsors name and mucked it up.
December 22, 2024 at 10:10 am #295894The pitch wasn’t properly laid pre season by a company that made a balls up, it was a sponsorship deal I believe but Butler discussed the pitch not being ready properly or up to the required standard before a ball was kicked on it this season. It’s one thing we can’t blame the management team for but we can blame the board for not addressing the situation in the first place.
December 22, 2024 at 10:14 am #295895It reminded me of the pitches at the OSG when, by the season’s end, were basically rolled sand with grass only in the corners.
We haven’t even had bad weather yet.December 22, 2024 at 10:44 am #295897re season by a company that made a balls up, it was a sponsorship deal I believe but Butler discussed the pitch not being ready properly or up to the required standard before a ball was kicked on it this season. I think the club made efforts to address it afterwards, but there’s little that can be done after beyond reseeding and winter puts that to pay. I have heard talk of who was responsible for bringing in the useless company that did this and am thankful they’re not currently involved with the club if this was the standard of their recommendations.
December 22, 2024 at 4:15 pm #295925Our manager will be happy with the deterioration of the pitch as it will serve as another excuse as to why we’re persisting with his only style of play; longball. Michelle said during an interview in the summer she’d negotiated a great deal to have the pitch renovated. Perhaps she drove the bargain a little too hard and so corners were cut in order to keep the job profitable.
What’s that saying again… ‘Buy cheap buy twice’.
Same quote can be applied to the management appointments and all of this seasons signings.

December 22, 2024 at 4:24 pm #295927It wasn’t Michelle who found them and argued for them, so I hear (from months ago). I think they trusted someone on a recommendation and it went awry.

did Michelle knock you back at school?
December 22, 2024 at 4:45 pm #295936The pitch was incorrectly laid in the first place pre season, I doubt Michelle or AB had any part of that, let’s keep the Butler and Board bashing within reasonable boundaries please.
