October 3, 2024 at 12:58 pm #291500I remember these, quite a few like that. Still has better lighting and ventilation than the GWS, just a problem when it chucked it down
October 3, 2024 at 12:59 pm #291501I heard that those Chesterfield toilets were sponsored by Cec Poole Associates.

October 3, 2024 at 1:12 pm #291502Can still smell the Bootham Crescent toilets by thinking about them, similar to Saltergate with a roof on

October 3, 2024 at 1:58 pm #291503Remember going to Crewe Alex.in the seventies, they had memorable toilets.
October 3, 2024 at 3:51 pm #291508The OSG wouldn’t have won any bathroom of the year awards either back in the day, flat caps and Bovril would know.
October 3, 2024 at 4:31 pm #291511At least there your not wading through piss unlike ours.
Hendy aves were the worse similar to saltergate but with a roof and never had a light in no phones either in them days to illuminate lol.October 3, 2024 at 5:09 pm #291514Those complaining about the current public toilet situation at the Attis might want to take a look at an old photo of the toilet at Saltergate, and be reminded (or made aware) of the OSG facility. Breath it in!
Salubrious compared to the Vetch.
October 3, 2024 at 6:18 pm #291515Very strange you were looking up mens toilets
October 3, 2024 at 6:24 pm #291516No it isn’t strange because I wasn’t looking up mens toilets. It was from a post on the Football Archive Facebook group a few days ago. It’s had 2k likes and over 800 comments – mainly from supporters of various football clubs in the 70s and 80s comparing how bad their stadium toilets were:

October 4, 2024 at 12:18 pm #291523All this toilet talk only mentions urinating … what happens if one desperately needs a number 2 ??

What’s the old expression ” shit or bust”?guess it’s bust mate.
October 4, 2024 at 2:30 pm #291529Pretty sure that happened in the DRE ones at the OSG once about 1978. Not good for those still wearing long flares. And no, it wasn’t me.

The Vetch were certainly in a league of their own. Beyond description?!
October 4, 2024 at 4:23 pm #291538Gets a mention a few times on the Facebook thread this came from. I never went so can’t vetch for it :)
October 4, 2024 at 4:25 pm #291539I’m informed a lot of old smaller non-league grounds still have these toilets. And a non-league toilet calendar has been suggested to WSC. Check out Cammell Laird’s bog…

October 5, 2024 at 6:33 am #291558Can i assume from the many toilet talk comments not many grounds actually have a sit down WC FOR A NUMBER 2 ??? let alone quilted scented tissue for those sensitive spots.
As info.. here whilst we may be slightly behind the Western world in some ways every water closet has a water bum blaster gun so a very clean end product after which its just a gentle dab and yer on yer way.
** APOLOGIES IF ANYONE IS JUST HAVING A SAUSAGE BAP FOR BREAKFAST
October 5, 2024 at 7:32 am #291562That’s just a bidet isn’t it?

No these are hand held water guns which blast off “stuff” .. the posh term is hand held bidet sprayer , i prefer bum gun .. or Botty blaster.
Maybe some could sponsor some for the bogs at AAGP ??
