November 5, 2024 at 9:41 pm #293052Credit to Spennymoor. Better by far all over the pitch.

November 5, 2024 at 9:43 pm #293053Some would have defended that shit show if we’d drawn. Ironawe for one likes a draw.
November 5, 2024 at 9:49 pm #293054Poor all round.
Thought there were some decent moments for us.
However, Fitzy has let us down today – yet he has saved us many more points in the long run and our best player.
Midfield was dominated yet again and lacks creativity – serious issues.
Carlton looked well off it and think he may be better as a winger. Fishburn looked a lot better at holding it up than him.
We missed Evans at the back imo.
Wish we had that version of Isaac Fletcher a couple of seasons ago, looked very well equipped at this level. Creative and strong.
All in all, a lot of work to do.

November 5, 2024 at 9:53 pm #2930601) I was going Saturday – shan’t now.
2) Same old same ole.
3) No efforts to improve.
4) The space given to Spennymoor (first half especially) was an utter disgrace!
5) Organisation was only seen occasionally.
6) Our midget CM was not up to the task!
7) Am starting to get cross.
8) Yes – the ref caused our defeat. But our team looked below par – again!
9) What the hell was Fitz up to? Who was it put him under such.pressure?
10) Sorry but we will not even achieve playoffs with this load of poo!2 users thanked author for this post.
November 5, 2024 at 9:56 pm #293063Regardless of the referee assisting with the winner what a poor performance boot it up run after it give the ball away repeatedly Carlton looks out of his depth.
Fear we are stuck in the division for a long long time particularly with going part time next season if no promotion this time.
Poor recruitment in the summer is coming back to bite us.5 users thanked author for this post.

November 5, 2024 at 10:01 pm #293067Better to be lucky than good.
Butler stays top of the league. Unbelievable Jeff.

November 5, 2024 at 10:03 pm #293068Was it just me or did I spot a little bit of football being played when we went 4-4-2?
November 5, 2024 at 10:04 pm #293069Our betting friends – odds on a playoff place?

For about ten minutes after we equalised? Tails were up then we blew it
November 5, 2024 at 10:14 pm #293072I’m trying really hard to stick by Butler, he needs to turn this shambles around. I know Butterfield was aging but his goals and assists and creativity haven’t been replaced. We”ve kept and signed dross. Crying out for decent footballers in the squad.

That’s exactly what my Mrs stated as I put her through that too.
November 5, 2024 at 10:18 pm #293075The team can’t justify playing for 10 mins.
20 points from the first 8 games and 9 points from the next 8 winning the league to relegation form wtf.1 user thanked author for this post.

We’re still 2/1 favs to be champions.
I can’t (quickly) see any top 7 finish markets.November 5, 2024 at 10:20 pm #293078Yup.
November 5, 2024 at 10:25 pm #293079I do hope Butler gets in “we’re top of the league” in his interview lol.

November 5, 2024 at 11:45 pm #293083Change personnel or fall on your sword, Andy.
Simply not good enough again.
If Whitehall is injured long term we are in big trouble.
Well Carlton showed that he’s no centre forward. He can’t head a ball and couldn’t trap a bag of cement. And when your two CMs can be pushed off the ball by a six year old, then you’re relying on the only two players with any footballing ability to work some sort of magic. Never going to happen tonight.
The Moors fans were right, “top of the league, you’re having a laugh”!

Agreed, Carlton has barely resembled a professional footballer with performances thus far, I hoped his return would mitigate the loss of Whitehall, not to be and a loan striker becomes more important by the game.
Centre mid is so lightweight it’s laughable- especially with 3 oven ready players capable of playing that position not getting a game. Not that our loss of form is entirely down to him but Clunan has been woeful- keeping playing him at your peril in current form.

November 6, 2024 at 1:31 am #293085Carlton played as a winger in a 4-3-3 formation last season. When I saw Butler partnering Scales with Clunan I knew what was about to happen. Clearly doesn’t see what everybody else does.
I’d go with a flat back 4 with Beestin, Brogan and Clunan a bit deeper of those two with Carlton one side, Roberts the other with the Fish upfront. Not ideal, but think Whitehall will be out a while.
November 6, 2024 at 1:54 am #293089Waking up to another dire performance , out played AGAIN ..woeful
These new signings need to happen NOW as a couple more duff performances and we could be down to 10th and we all can see Buxton on Saturday are gonna come and do a Radcliffe same as they did last season.
If AB doesnt see the light and drop this formation we are toast .. attendances will plummet as fans dont want to watch dross football they need entertainment and excitement and recently its been LESS “fun” than a visit to the clap clinic.

November 6, 2024 at 8:47 am #293104Last night’s game
November 6, 2024 at 10:29 am #293125So you’ve dumped Carlton from replacing Whitehall then WG, but I see you still want to dump Whitehall lol, whatever were paying him offer him the same end of season. The team needs quality done the cheap bargain bucket with Swann and look where we are.
November 6, 2024 at 2:28 pm #293143Didn’t bother watching the game last night as would have only caught the second half. At 2-1 down and a dour first half I could only foresee more of the same (despite Deerey’s unconvincing argument that we have ‘far better’ second half displays). Seems I made the right call and saved myself a tenner. Did listen on the radio though; Torps and Turner were less than impressed.
Had anticipated another 0-0 bore draw so at least there were a few feeble sparks in the form of goals to celebrate Nov 5th, though certainly no fireworks for the iron. We could have ourselves a decent bonfire though with the amount of deadwood we’re carrying.
Nicholson doing his usual and dropping another clanger. He should have been out of the team about a month ago. He’s got at least 2 or 3 bad mistakes in him per game which must outweigh the benefit of his long throw. Carlton sounded abysmal and is proving to be a dud.
Conceding three goals again (6 in the last two away games) is not the defensive masterclass Butler has been flogging us. Not sure what our ‘brand’ of football is and not sure the players or management know either.
But fear not fellas, as we are now officially scouring the market for a fresh face or two and with our successful scouting strategy, what could go wrong?

Correction; I said ‘have had some’ or words to that effect

Don’t mention the B word round these parts IronAwe!
Aging or not he’s played every game and scooped the player of the month award, for a team at the top of the league above us. It’s quite possible that the OAP could see out his career playing league football with Gateshead next season, whilst we’re still suffering in the doldrums of NLN.
Elliott will likely return to GP with big spenders Macclesfield next year to give us a spanking and remind us what we’ve missed with him too. They will undoubtedly romp this league next season with us left eating their dust.
Meanwhile Deerey will be rocking back and forth in a corner somewhere muttering ‘in Butler we trust’.
UTI!

Good to see recent matches and the Iron plight has lightened your mood 414. There’s only so much bitterness a chap can burden himself with.
