Ran out 3-0 winners at Curzon on Tuesday evening.
They are right up there in the current form table.
Saturday is going to be difficult!

    Won 5 from 6.

2nd Highest scorers in the division with 72 goals [only Kiddy with 75 better].

There is no option and no time for tippy tappy football littered by average at best passing ! It is a must win game.

Wasn’t that the same argument being used in our semi last season v Boston, IA?

Last weekend’s loss has ramped up the pressure on the squad. Facing Spennymoor, a tough team to beat, makes Saturday’s match a must-win if we’re serious about securing automatic promotion. Anything less than a victory will likely see us drop from the top spot.

As for my prediction, it’s hard to say… If we play like we did against Chester, we’ll come out on top. However, given the team’s inconsistency, my ‘fear index’ is understandably high.

All about can our players take the pressure ?
Attendance at Curzon v Spennymoor last night was 328. There’s going to be well over 4,000 at GP on Saturday and the expectation from that crowd is that we win.
Our supporters need to get behind the lads and not moan and groan the first time a pass goes astray or players will go into their shells and go safety first.

Nagh on it from minute one, they’re highly paid professionals they should be relishing the pressure playing for us brings with it.

Saw enough wayward passes last Saturday, so anymore then yes expect moans and groans, the fans aren’t the problem.

Hopefully they do relish that pressure and turn up.
I’d be having Brogan, Shrimpton and Fish back from loans for the last few games.

I’d say it’s all about can our players apply the pressure, and from the off.

Don’t agree with Butler having an extra keeper on the bench, JD did that against Boston in a must win game then went one up top with Whitehall in front of over 8000 fans, that worked out well didn’t it?

Yes re Max and Fin for return, perhaps tough on Fin and Wembley with Spennymoor but this
club is the priority. It has to get promoted and if it does not then the buck stops with one person.

From game one we employed the wrong philosophy and now they are must win games.

Fin should be left where he is to enjoy his once in a lifetime experience.
To deny him would be morally wrong and smack of capriciousness.

Would be harsh on Fin to bring him back, not use him maybe just a sub, get promoted then release him at the end of the season. Never thought Fin got a proper chance under Butler and he will be gone at season end IMO, hope he stays at Spennymoor and does well for them next season.

Our budget may force them to keep Fin and give him a chance because it shows that he is more than capable when you see what he has achieved while Spennymoor.

So many times people write the ‘Fin’s’ off way too early and we produce nothing season after season and fewer younger players consider us as a career path. Loof at Kyle Wootton div 1 and comfortable at that level – us we gave him away.

    Scunny 11/13 … 55/65
    Draw 13/5 … 169/65
    Spenny 3/1 … 195/65

3/1 for a Spenny win is massive IMH(umble)O

How long can we afford to wait? Tough decisions have to be made and sometimes the club get it wrong. A list of released youngsters that subsequently failed to make the grade would be extremely long.

    Godden.

True about Matt Godden but even he said he was not surprised when he looked at those ahead of him. I had seen him help out during reserve games by moving into left back and he looked very capable, so could have stayed for that role.

This whole argument also doesn’t account for the fact that it’s not just the player themselves. It’s not a straight line from talent to success, and there are no guarantees. Success also involves a combination of environment and ‘the right people’ for the player’s character, and it being ‘the right moment’. Not saying Scunthorpe haven’t had this important combination on occasion, I’m just saying a single club can’t necessarily make the most of every single good player.

Keeper looks calm, composed & confident.
McKeown looks decent and Mundal could cause problems.
Taylor will be 35 in May, yet continues amassing goals aplenty. 167 goals from 294 appearances for Spenny.

Kings Lynn game is on for streaming but looks like the Peterborough Sports game is not going to be covered. They have other NLN games Easter Monday but not ours.

Can’t see us winning this one if I’m honest?

Could end up in 4/5th position and needing 3x playoff games to go up!
