I cleared hair (my wife’s) from the drain to the bath. Much more interesting!

October 22, 2022 at 5:31 pm #247275Embarrassing, sad and so so predictable.
More points in the prediction league for that result than the team have managed all season.
October 22, 2022 at 5:32 pm #247276The Heed have dropped down to join us in the bottom four.
Tuesday night should be interesting.
Or maybe not!
October 22, 2022 at 5:34 pm #247277Yet another new low, another on Tuesday maybe. Astounding that a novice reporter can see things that our professional management team can’t. After listening to the whole game I still have no idea what system we were playing and neither, it seems, did the players. Embarrassing.
October 22, 2022 at 5:38 pm #247278One shot at goal and that was cut out by our own player, and Lee Hodges said someone on their staff said we are the worst team they had played by a country mile.

Professional management team. Hmmm
October 22, 2022 at 6:11 pm #247280You can honestly watch a Sunday league game and have a good understanding on how both teams are set up and how they are trying to play. I leave Scunthorpe games with no clue on what formation we just played for 90 minutes.
Southend are in a similar position to us off the pitch and manage to field a much better side, same with so many other clubs
Swann is ultimately to blame but the players and Daws need to take some responsibility; it’s absolutely pathetic.

October 22, 2022 at 6:35 pm #247285I wish you guys the pick up to your season we had last season in our first one down here!
With reference to us being the same as you off the pitch, owner and financially …………yes.
On the footballing side definitely not.
With Maher, Currie and Bentley we have a management team that understand and care about the club and operating at this level.
and behind them we have Collymore and John Still to add to our commercial and scouting team.Maher celebrated his first 12 months in charge at Daggers away, with only 2 players in the squad that featured in the corresponding fixture a year ago.
really hoping that someone with a bit of nous at this level who cares for your football club and can turn your fortunes around. It can be done, but it does need the right people.
V\ery best of wishes and good luck.

October 22, 2022 at 8:58 pm #247304Had a look on the Southend forum and sounds like we were lucky to get away with 3-0, which doesn’t surprise me.
Not even reasonable gate price and an easy trip to London could temp me to watch that shower today.
October 23, 2022 at 4:34 am #247316Yesterdays Southend shambles was very disturbing in many ways .. team selection , performance and a lack of any effort lead to.the the obvious outcome.
I hate all the doom.n gloom but i cant see us picking up.enough wins to.keep.is up.and confirmed before Santa has been gone the NLN will.be our home next season.SHAMBOLIC .. cant see a way out of this mess with Daws at the helm n Swan in the big chair… sad to say we look doomed

As one of ours said earlier in the thread, you looked and played exactly like us at this time last season. We binned Tango-man, but more importantly, recruited the right new coaching team, and that was down to our chairman finally keeping his nose out of the football side of things and a big push from Stan Collymore and later on, John Still. It might seem like there is no hope today, but we all know that football is a strange old game and stuff happens followed by improvement. We may well get would up in the high court in November, so we none of us know what is round the corner.
Keep the faith lads, take the piss out of Wrexham and the other big spenders and maybe, just maybe, your players will wake up to the fact that the NL is horribly non forgiving. I really hope you come good and start moving up the table, after all, us SUFCs have to stick together.

October 23, 2022 at 11:38 am #247322I wish I could have some optimism. We have changed managers, chairman taken less interest in team affairs and his son is no longer our chief scout. Yet it gets worse.
October 23, 2022 at 12:02 pm #247326We ain’t going to recruit the “right new coaching team” until Sawnn has sold up. And that’s looking as likely as Tony Adams winning Strictly!
So unless BPG can arrange for him to have a “Road to Damascus” style conversion and he finally sees the light we are bound for Blyth and Spennymoor next season.
