Agreed.
Ref did Shrimpton a favour, he could have had 4 yellows. Wilson has just given up, ridiculous slide for his booking it looked like he was trying for a red card to miss Dorking but got it wrong and only got a yellow.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 22, 2023 at 7:06 pm #260703“We’ve scored I know let’s keep our cool and wait till the final whistle” was never going to happen just like at Bristol rovers last season. Some woman ont other forum moaned of being robbed of clapping the players as per tradition on final home game, you’ve got to bless the female variety they don’t have a bloody clue, clap what exactly?.

April 22, 2023 at 7:33 pm #260705Important to give our all in the remaining games ,was from mangers pre match interview, well that didn’t happen, suitcases must be already packed for summer holidays. Best shout out from my happy clappers stand was when Wilson was hooked off. “ you lazy b*****d “ summed his game up,although others could be credited with the call too

Always looks half interested at best and always as if he’s towing a caravan.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 22, 2023 at 8:50 pm #260715Wilson should have been subbed in the first half, does the stupid little boy think he’s ‘made it.’ A few went for the “Pugh early finish” option too, Shrimpton, Carver and Daniel could all have seen red.

April 22, 2023 at 9:04 pm #260717April 22, 2023 at 9:30 pm #260719Carver and Elliot were a couple of the only ones who looked interested, they deserve a good crack at it next year whilst actually getting service.

April 22, 2023 at 10:36 pm #260728Wilson to me looks like his agent has been in his ear and his mind is already at another club. Carver at that level will score at that level and has done in the past, he’s limited but with decent service and a good pre season where he’s actually fit he’ll be fine.
Elliot tried his best and despite nothing really coming off he got his goal at the end. Elliot looked way more comfortable up top than out wide. I should imagine he’ll score shite loads next season if he’s played up front and he stays fit.
Shrimpton was a loose cannon but at least he cared enough to even play angry. A lot of them can’t be arsed at all.

April 23, 2023 at 3:26 am #260740this bunch are just thieves …steeling a wage packet , many so obviously dont want to be there.
YES im not overly enthused with JDs reign but inept tactics aside hes working with broken glass in his boots with this lot of unprofessional lazy fookers..
I do fear for us in NLN again as was said at the start of this season ..its a tough league and sadly im predicting no fairy tale immediate return , more likely mid table obscurity at best or even worse and drop even further AGAIN.
Thats if we still have a club at all come June

He’s a mile off.
Attitude.April 23, 2023 at 7:31 am #260746bearing in mind the likes of Butterfield Ogle etc wont stay can anyone suggest who actually deserves to stay on attitude, effort, talent and commitment???..
I would keep some of the kids Robertson Poulter Young Lewis etc plus Chappo Elliot maybe Carver tho has injury worries…oh and Whitehouse
Other than that bin the bloody lot most certainly including Wilson ..i get the impression JD will keep the likes of Boyce Rance which he should not ..get rid
April 23, 2023 at 10:09 am #260760True cass but at least Carver put a shift in today, probably his best game yet for us.
A very low bar.

Agreed but look where we as a club are operating these days, horse for courses and all that 🙁

The counter staff at MacDonalds put in a shift, but they’re still serving up crap!

April 23, 2023 at 8:56 pm #260836Dean said a week or so ago that we’ve activated the additional year on Shrimpton’s deal and that we’ve offered Pugh a 1yr contract with another year in the clubs favour.
Robertson, Poulter, Sellers-flemming and Nat Wallace have been offered deals. Carver, Boyce, Butterfield, Ogle, Chapman and Elliot are still under contract.
Butterfield and Ogle will probably get offers from national league clubs so can’t see them staying. I don’t think Boyce will be here either because Dean in the interview from a week or so ago said we’ll be after players who have experience but who are at the right age, who have good energy and plenty of running in them.
Dean came across as he didn’t want old players. Dean made a comment suggesting we had too many older players who have had good careers but who haven’t got much left and said we’re to take a completely different route to the transfer market next season.
Harvey Cribb is on trial at Hull City and clubs are looking at Owen Foster so doubt he’ll be here either but if/when those two leave we’ll get fee’s. Dean was of the opinion Foster will probably end up going.
I would sign Sembie Ferris up for another contract because least he looks like he has some ability. I would keep Sean Shields around if and if he proves his fitness moving into next season and I would maybe give him a 1yr deal. O’Malley I would keep around but don’t think Dean rates him so can’t see him staying.
I would keep Moore-Billam and Gallimore because I think the pair of them have something to offer.
Richards Everton would be a good player to still have for next season but can’t see him wanting to play that low. Beestin is an interesting one, would you keep him and would that level even suit him ?
Everybody else can go for me though.
Feeney has had it, same as Daniel. Rance is a sick note. Hallam is injured again, surprise surprise. Taft can piss off. Ethan Young can move on. I’m mostly interested in keeping the talented youngsters here with Sembie Ferris.

May 4, 2023 at 1:07 pm #261601Southend served with another winding up order, should make for an interesting NN annual general meeting on whether to include them in the structure, with them not being able to sign new players or offer new contracts to existing players.

July 4, 2023 at 4:35 pm #265509Their players refusing to train now, big decision on Wednesday whether to include them in the National league fixtures. Got to kick them out just like they did to Bury imo, Phoenix club probably for them now.
July 4, 2023 at 5:12 pm #265512Bury should never have been kicked out IMO. Neither should Southend. What good does booting them out do?

July 4, 2023 at 6:11 pm #265514Sounds like they have finally run out of money and if staff can’t be paid ( some for three months apparently) then I’m not sure what the answer is TBH. Until dodgy owners of football clubs become a thing of the past through some kind of legislation then I guess some clubs will continue to go under. Absolute crying shame for Southend who had a long and proud membership of the Football League and you would think if run properly would have been back in the league sooner than later but alas things are looking grim for them at the moment, hopefully a rescue package gets put together quick. Feel really sorry for their fans who have supported them magnificently since dropping into non league.

July 4, 2023 at 7:31 pm #265519What do you think should happen to them Deerey? Who would you suggest to keep on paying the wages and bills.
July 26, 2023 at 6:46 pm #267618Well done Southend the National league have granted them a licence for the upcoming season, albeit with a couple of sanctions and a 10 point penalty for breaching them, hope their club can keep all the payments up, must admit I thought they were gonnars.
July 26, 2023 at 6:52 pm #267620Wonder if the judge in our case will deem £20,000 a month as part payment for GP is sufficient till Swann gets his land registry finger out 🤣
