    Team full of kids tomorrow?

Scunthorpe 1 point from last six games and a minus ten goal difference.

Southend 10 points from the last six games and a plus three goal difference.

SUFC 0-2 if it’s a team of a similar make up to recently.

SUFC 0-5 if it’s a youth type team.

    Attendance: 3,178 (inc 278 away)

Well picking those “playing for contracts” failed to provide any results so it could be the kids unless JD gives second chances.

When I picked my ticket up on Thursday, Dean was involved in a lengthy chat with Tony Daws in the car park, guess he was asking him how many young un’s he could borrow for tomorrow. Not a problem trying some youngsters against Southend, let’s see how they shape up, at least the game may be valuable in showing up who can be ready for next season.

Has there been some indication from Dean that a lot of youngsters are getting a run out tomorrow?

    Throw em in.
    Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Poulter is a must start for me.
I’d have had him up front with A. N. Other for the previous 15 or so games.

” We have some good young lads in the youth team so we will be involving them tomorrow too” was the quote in Dean’s pre match interview. Not sure how many but it certainly sounds like a few based on that comment.

I always liked Moore-Billam. Poulter, Nat Wallace, Sellers Flemming and Robertson from the youths are being offered contracts for next season so you can expect those 4 to play some part.

I don’t see the point in starting Leake at LB either, may as well start O’Malley and see if he can impress for next season. Leake will be on his way back to Hull.

I hope that whatever team is put out respects the fact that we are paying to watch a competitive match and not another Bristol Rovers fiasco.
    1-3 500+ Southend so 3100 attendance.
Looking forward it’s going to be bloody hard next season no loan players just players who want to be at Scunthorpe United and put a decent shift in

Be good to see a few of the youngerns in the mix … dont see any point at all in current loan players being involved where they can be replaced …over to you Jimmy lad.

It’s possible that talks with (for example) Smith and Leake have indicated that they would be interested in a permanent move. If so I’d expect those in any discussion to play.

Wasn’t going to go, but what else can a supporter do ?
I’ll stand there to show them I am actually bothered. Would be nice if whoever gets a shirt puts a shift in and maybe spoil Southends slim play off hopes…..

    Andrew Boyce:-
” about finishing the season as well as possible: “You play for pride, you play for yourself, and you want to do well every time you step on a pitch.”

Such a shame that not enough of our players share that view.

So you have started train spotting awaywego, well I suppose it will be a bit more interesting than just going to a match and looking for a burger stall ha ha!!

Well, after being critical of our passing ability all season I am happy to report that our pass success rate today was estimated at over 80% (when passing backwards)
Success rate passing forwards, again estimated, dropped to single figures.
My new criticism after today is the complete inability of our players to control the ball with their first touch, they didn’t get a second as the ball ended up much closer to a Southend player.
In a season full of new lows today was another, do the players not want to play for the club or the manager?

Elliott and Carver worked their socks off today with little or no support, when they both worked together at the end to create a chance and score, the moronic fringe invaded the pitch to spoil the moment. What a shite season and that incident at the end just about sums it all up.

So my 1-2 prediction was even worse, Neil Cox said that Scunny had more yellow cards during the game than attempts on goal, and that the team was really, really poor!!

I am thinking of getting a train down to Dorking next week, does anyone know if there are any tickets left ??. I remember going to the Newcastle v Scunny FA Cup win of ours in 1957, does anyone else recall those times, over 6,000 fans went on eight special trains, just 16 years of age then, and it was a bottle of Newkey Brown, nowadays it appears to be a burger that attracts fans ha ha!!, surely it would be better to fall 100 yards short of GP these sad days and call at the golden “m”, it would also save you 90 mins of pain.

I will get ready for a few death threats for my bit of banter, awaywego will be really really wound up after todays showing, I just hope that his burger was nice and hot and in a fresh bun!!, roll on Dorking.

The moronic fringe didn’t spoil any moment, the pitch invasion was supposed to be at the final whistle didn’t you see them lined up from 20 mins to go then some stupid bastard decided to score his first goal for the club what did you expect to happen? Now the moronic fringe who abused Hilton and his family after the game while in his car that’s another matter and most weren’t the younger element either.

Thought it might be the players fault Awaywego, I know it’s tongue in cheek mate but the little shits don’t do a thing for my match day experience. The pitch protest to get rid of Swann I fully supported that was about a club being allowed to die but the little shits today could have waited till the final whistle. Hey ho that’s the folly of youth I guess, hope the club don’t get clobbered for it, after the final whistle it wouldn’t have been so bad with it being the final game and all but on we go, hopefully.

Totally gutless performance, another one to stick on a large pile over the last 5 years.

Players on there again who couldn’t be arsed- Wilson I’m looking at you. Daniel not far behind.

Shrimpton deciding that passion means kicking lumps out of the opposition.
    Awful performance by him.

If the back line defended any deeper they would have been on the railway line.

Management deserve stick because everything has fallen off a cliff since Notts county but you’ve got professional players on there who looked like they’d rather be anywhere else. Take some responsibility you wage stealing twats.

Thank f**k it’s over for another year
