Blimey, Terry Heath looks young, more like Terry Hall in his early Specials days 😂

I would never have recognised Terry Heath, IA. Guess I can only recall that pic with the long squared off sideburns. Still my teenage idol. That languid style, body swerve and low centre of gravity. How many times did someone ask why Heath couldn’t combine his talent with Keegan’s workrate and will to win?

I’ve said it before JI and I will repeat it now, Terry Heath my all time favourite player to wear the Iron shirt. I was only a teenager when I watched him play for us but to me he was a magician with the ball at his feet, lost count how many times he just ran the game from start to finish, great memories indeed.

I remember his response to going one nil down to Sheffield Wednesday, he rattled their bar with one of his rasping shots.

I have one of his oil paintings on my wall. A Constablesque country scene – only the haywain is missing. If someone reminds me how to put pics on here, I’ll post a photo.

He’s here..he’s there…we’re not allowed to swear …Terry Heath! Terry Heath!
It always felt like a privilege to have someone of that ability in an iron shirt. Looking back … it still feels like a privilege to have regularly watched him.

Remember that well Iron Age and remember the next time he burst through the Wednesday defence to have another go, he was hacked down ( was it Colin Prophet playing for them that day, not sure now ). Terry was head and shoulders the best player on the park in that game although John Barker and Cass quite rightly took the glory honours.

50 goals in 176 games, mostly from midfield and many great shots from outside the box.
