Nothing will change until at least the owners sell up.
You can’t blame the owner for that result!!

August 20, 2022 at 5:24 pm #243037Another new Low.
Such a poor mental resilience that has been consistent for the past 4/5 years now.
We are in serious trouble unless we get 3/4 new players in.

August 20, 2022 at 5:24 pm #243038So your happy with all the results for the last few years?
Can’t remember a result that has got us jumping up and down.
Like I stated at least the owner sells up.

Not sure even that would make much difference. Current crop are uninterested or unfit. Possibly both.
August 20, 2022 at 5:39 pm #243047What has happened to that early season optimism?
August 20, 2022 at 5:40 pm #243048Gone. Finished That’s it after 60 years. Goodbye.

It’s Swann’s fault we can’t hold on to a 3-0 lead at home and crumble? Behave!

You’re probably right. There’s just such a losing mentality at the club that Hill has identified but clearly has made worse. We looked lethargic 3-0 up which is baffling.
I’m at at a loss after that today.

August 20, 2022 at 5:48 pm #243055Yes and it’s the same Shite we’ve been watching for what feels like years. Turnbull can ice over things as much as but there’s still an absolute shit show of a cake inside.
Until the sale goes through we are still peddling into oblivion.

Topics: 100Can you see anyone buying the club?
What’s it really worth?
The only asset is the land (not club owned).
You’d surely be thinking of liquidating and selling the land?

August 20, 2022 at 6:14 pm #243066Been to both home games, won’t be going again for a long time, absolute shite from a winning position I’m sure words fail most people who went. Will go to some away games just for a day out Barnet next for me, I did my bit but Hill and his players didn’t do theirs.

Nope!
So who do you blame?
The players?
And who brought the players to the club?
The manager?
And who brought the manager to the club and set his budget?
Think about it. Take as long as you want!

August 20, 2022 at 6:26 pm #243071Not been for the last couple of seasons.
I just don’t see the value anymore. It’s so disturbing to see how far we have fallen from an envied Club to nothing.
A few of us (long term since 70’s)were going to go today but had second thoughts.
All I can see is liquidation and the land being sold.A real shame especially when many are giving it a real go. But it’s a change of owner that’s needed not a fish and chip stand or face painting.
It’s the results that get punters back for a day out.5 users thanked author for this post.
August 20, 2022 at 6:29 pm #243073The only positive I got from today is that Nuttall is becoming a complete handful. I’m guessing he ran out of puff, so he could get fitter and better as the season goes on.
Keep em crossed UTBI

It’s the results that get punters back for a day out. What is your obsession with Turnbull and the staff trying to improve the off the field experience?
You’re desperate to beat them down.
August 20, 2022 at 6:42 pm #243077I said in a earlier post I watched them play York, and they kept at them and the worst thing you could do is sit back against them, so what happens, as soon as they score the first goal we sat back all the second half, also why wasn’t Gallimore subbed instead of Butterfield, the lad was dead on his feet and making error after error, we could easily have lost against Yeovil after we conceded, the team had played so well until they scored but their heads completely dropped, and Lord knows what was said at half time because why do you go on all out defence with a one goal lead, so deflating for us fans and its just a continuation of last season, yet we haven’t got a bad squad so what is this protecting what we have got tactics all about.

Nothing that’s why I stated it’s a shame that they are trying to make a go of it.
Just don’t think that’s the area need to be focussing on. Results are what get punters through the gates.
Yes it’s been a poor match day experience for long enough and they are trying but 3 loses to what we’d never imagine seeing is not going to bring folk back.
A change of regime will.1 user thanked author for this post.
August 20, 2022 at 6:48 pm #243080But no one can influence the takeover so it’s a dead end until he sells up.
What other areas should he focus on? If he was sat in his arse taking a wage then there would be hell on. Good on them for having a go, Yeovil proved we can get it right.
By all means slate Hill, slate the players and slate the owner- but Not folk with the clubs best interests at heart with no justification.

August 20, 2022 at 6:59 pm #243084Well after a good start we lost to a really confident good footballing side but the lack of bench quality was probably the final decider. Many, myself included have said we are four experienced or better quality players short in this squad and it showed today. They made three subs and all three added something to their team and kept them on the up, none of our three subs, two albeit late subs, made one bit of difference. O’Malley never a full back as the second half showed and Whitehouse and Carver came on too late and also added nothing. Maybe Hill was reluctant to sub unless forced too with Ntlhe injured at half time because he knows the position we are in squad quality wise. Nuttall was a big plus for me today from last season, fit at last he scored two and provided an assist for Daniel in a good display. We need to keep him fit and get the squad bulked up or else we will struggle, fair play to Solihull, you can see why they are one of the divisions top sides on today’s showing. Sack Hill ? not for me, let him get four more players in and let them gel together as the season goes along and maybe we can squeeze a mid table finish which will do me. Four games in, squad incomplete, now not a time for knee jerk reactions IMO.
August 20, 2022 at 7:02 pm #243087They Aren’t getting slated, read again that It’s a shame they are making a go of it.
What about getting some players fit for purpose. Plenty of experience in that department.
I’d rather see Turnbull in the dugout tbhAugust 20, 2022 at 7:08 pm #243089I fully understand what you are saying RoamingBull. It was so frustrating to give a three goal lead away which should never happen and we supporters left feeling shell-shocked and so very angry. I agree it is not fish and chips vans, ice-cream sellers, singers or face-painting or marquees which are needed at this time it is results on the field, that is what will keep and bring back football supporters. Let’s remember this is the lowest point in time for our club over the last seventy odd years and let’s not forget whose solely to blame for this. I also find it totally wrong that the Iron Trust has been asked by Lee Turnbull if it would help fund the marquee, but this would have to go to a member vote anyway even if the Trust Board agreed to do that. Members are playing their part by paying through the turnstiles and by supporting the Iron bar buying drinks.

August 20, 2022 at 7:13 pm #243090I really do hope it’s the lowest point but how does one get there money back.
August 20, 2022 at 8:23 pm #243098Sack Hill ? not for me
Playing O’Malley at LB wasn’t too clever. Wouldn’t a half decent manager have moved Daniel there and then brought someone on to cover his position ?
O’Malley was absolutely shocking again. What more evidence does Hill need to make him realise that he isn’t really a FB ?
Only problem is Hill signed Nthle and he’ll be a treatment best pal of Hallam, he’s another who’s never fit. All well and good signing him to a 6month contract but it’s 6 month’s we’re going to be without a LB option.
Another waste of a place !

You can’t blame the owner for that result!!
You can if you’ve got time to get to the real root of the problem. Not if you take today’s game in isolation. It’s a long view and certainly a very long arduous season ahead.
