I have no idea ,just seems as though we’re treading a well worn path that has happened to so many clubs over the years ,as predicted.

When we’re playing Gainsborough Trinity in a local derby league match,I’ll be telling Misterton Mick ,”Fans64 was right,we didn’t need Swann”.

The club can’t support itself financially without Swanns support it would be bankrupt – even if he wanted out at present it’s doubtful there would be any interest given the current state of football and the quality of the package at the sands.
Best we can hope for is that the masterplan eventually starts to work but that’s unlikely.
I’m afraid we are following the trend set at trinity but at a slightly higher level

We need Swann because without him we wouldn’t be established in the Championship playing exciting attacking football in our brand new all-seater stadium!

    So think on!

Pretty sure Peter has said the ‘new model’ makes the team self sufficient with his family not needing to put money in (take Covid away)
So not sure we need him once we are free of this awful pandemic.
I was always a much happier iron fan under the previous owner and that included when the team struggled!!
The last few years have been truly disgusting!!
I miss the feeling/craving of the next match.
Sadly for me and many, many, many others over a period of time the crap football and lacklustre eleven players playing for SUFC each game has left me excited about something else on a match day.
In my opinion out club is in a real mess, a change of ownership is our only way out.
And I don’t know who that is so don’t ask the obvious!
All I know is under Swann we’ve achieved next to nothing and have massively regressed!!!

Seems fairly evident to me, lost circa £2m last year and even with the new low cost model can’t see this year been any better especially with virtually no income through the turn stiles.
Personally I wouldn’t want to see King Prawn walking in the foreseeable.

Spot on! Thats exactly how i’ve felt for a long time, i used to love going to gp and most away games because you knew you were going to be entertained and we had a club who always wanted to punch above our weight along with a chairman who looked after every player and member of staff. You only have to listen to ex players like hayesy who gave us an insight to the relationship between the players and chairman…is there any of that now? Not a chance…just egos flying about.

Most of the pre Swann years were in division 4 playing crap football in front of 1,500 fans at the OSG. At least the older fans know what we used to be like. We are a small club who are never going to make it in the championship but it was great to have that bit of time up there but I think we all knew ( mainly the older fans) we would be back down eventually.

Well put FI, Though we should always aim for better but should not be a given, and expect some lean years as well.

Of course I can blame the fans Deery. There nepotism towards managerial appointments is behind reproach, but can’t understand why Swanny buys into it he’s not from round here and not a lifelong a scunny fan. Let’s just give Cox time.

I bet you’d find most of the posters on here remember the old days at the OSG attended by 1,500 fans very well forever iron so that argument isn’t valid.

The fact we’re in league 2 isn’t the point at all. It’s about the club itself, the way it’s run and future prospects. This really isn’t about a few young fans who only know the Championship years.

The fans do not own the club, they have little say. If Swann is so weak that he makes ill judged decisions based on the opinions put forward by a few online then it’s his responsibility for those decisions.

With the way things stand this season I cannot see it being anyone other than Swann’s fault. He has changed business model, which is fair, and is now relying on youth. This is not the decision of the fans or Cox. It is Swann’s decision and the consequences, positive or negative, are on him. At the moment it doesn’t look good, we seem to lack experience in the squad and it’s awfully unbalanced. Again, this seems to be a result, primarily, of Swann’s vision for the club, so if we continue to struggle will be on him.

This is not me being toxically opposed to Swann. I do not want him out, worry what would happen if that was done as some seem to suggest (WonderGoals) without any kind of outside investment or plan, and do not buy into claims that he is really the manager and definitely picks the team and strategy. It’s clear that he has a say on transfers, but all talk of our squad and tactics being driven by Swann is currently conspiracy. However, he has made some very poor decisions, especially of late, including the reliance on a youth squad. If it fails, it’ll be his fault.

The chairman has made his choices and we have to abide by them I believe he has the best interest of the club for the long term. We all have our own idea’s of how it should be run but saying he picks the team is just plain stupid. The thing I feel he hasn’t got right is running with young player’s and and with an inexperienced manager the two don’t go together. Hopefully we survive this season and go on from there
