It appears that the deal is dead in the water.

So, what will Mr Hilton actually own on Thursday 25th May 2023?

Will Mr Swann look for a new buyer? (Of the stadium & land)

Or, will Mr Swann just sell all plots of land?

GP has been a good home to us. How will you feel if it’s demolished?

It appears that Mr Hilton only owns the name of a ‘company’ operating as Scunthorpe United Football Club limited.

So, if Mr Swan sells up (stadium & land) and kicks us out – we are in effect a new scratch club.

    That it’s come to this.

A homeless, groundless former Championship club.

Oh dear, oh dear oh dear.
    It’s so sad!

It is a mess that’s for sure, and I foresee legal challenges in the months ahead.

I think you are right Daz.

My own view is that if the previous owner comes out of it with a bloody nose and a lot less cash then that would be a bonus.

He may have picked a fight with the wrong man here.

Where does our ‘promise of a safe future for 999 years fit in?’
Did that survive the change of chairman in any fashion?

Based on what? Hilton’s word? It all depends on what was agreed in January, and it could equally be Hilton violating that agreement.

Agreed Siderite. I think there’s a lot of wishful thinking going on. The reality will be what’s legally binding and it being enforced. All we can do is sit and watch it unfold. I’ve no love for Swann but I’m certainly not getting on board yet with what I’m witnessing so far.

If what Hilton is proposing was more realistic and there was less bluster and cloak and dagger (not letting the forum be filmed in case Swann uses it against him?? What??), I’d be more comfortable with it all. But too many things have happened already and the issue òf tenancy at GP leaves too much left up in the air. Supporters will make their own mind up. I just hope those that are not on board are respected by those that are, because at present, on social media, it seems to be getting worse, not better.

How many will want a refund? I’ve sent a few members on Twitter saying they don’t want one.

He stated refunds would be given if need be.

I would have purchased but not until we have our house back.

No love lost if we move from GP tbh. It looks an absolute shambles after not being there for a few years.

As I recollect, at the forum Hilton said, with all the financial investment available for a new ground, it will cost less than renovating GP.

Not at least for this season as he’s seemingly found a loophole and is leasing out to himself. Hilton also said he was willing to pay Swann 200k a month for us to use it so it’s maybe next season where we are to move somewhere else.

Hilton’s hoping to have the leasing contract extended to 24 months and not just the 12.

I saw that on twitter last night. Council are well and truly on board by all accounts and theirs various government funding schemes available to tap into.

Makes sense if we can build a new ground which will cost less than renovating GP.

    So I meant 20k not 200 k !

Be interesting to see how it plays out. Iron insider who truly knows what will happen?. all I know for sure is Hilton had to buy the club without carrying out due diligence due to time constraints. We would have gone bust insider !

    That’s on Swann not Hilton.

Will £20,000 a month be enough for Swann’s gambling expenses? Or maybe a leg or two of a racehorse for Coolsilk perhaps. I think he will be happy enough to take the money without any responsibility.

Don’t think there’s any need for being reduced to name calling and insults II. I think the majority of other posters are capable of reading WGs latest posts and making their own minds up.

As I recollect, at the forum Hilton said, with all the financial investment available for a new ground, it will cost less than renovating GP.

He financed upgrades at Ilkeston with a loan at the center of a legal dispute, £150k from the Premier League Stadia Improvement fund, and Covid aid money. That added up to £2m at most, and he couldn’t get a further loan, which led to his not being able to afford to buy Glanford Park.

Hilton is now counting on the council and other government entities to supply the better part of £20-30m during a recession. Good luck to him.

Don’t think Swann will accept £20k a month personally, not least because Hilton, in his words, has fallen out with him, and has now spent a fair amount of time slagging him off at the forum. Even if he did, that’s £20k a month down on club running costs immediately. Has he got deep pockets, because I’ve seen no evidence than they’re that deep!

    So…
Will we have a resolution to this before players return for pre-season training?
It needs to be done before then… so as we can move on and start a new chapter.
