Topics: 59The designation 7 of 9 played by Jeri Ryan in Star Trek Voyager, was a cracker.
Her next pod neighbour was 6 of 9… who was more of a Nicola Sturgeon.
Resistance is futile.
The NLN will assimilate us.To escape the cubic like hell, we HAVE to win 6 of the remaining 9 games!
6 of 9 !
March 15, 2023 at 8:13 am #257382It is sad to be saying this as a long-term supporter; barring a miracle of biblical proportions, we will be playing National League North football next season.
Arguably we do have the easiest run in of all the teams however, the points gap between us and safety means we would have to suddenly develop from a struggling team to the best team in the league overnight. Whilst there is some promising play, we are a mile away from being that sort of team.
Time to start planning the away trip to Banbury United.

March 15, 2023 at 12:57 pm #257399On nursery rhymes, here’s a prophetic one…
‘Seesaw, Margery Daw, / Jacky shall have a new master; / Jacky shall have but a penny a day, / Because he can’t work any faster’
March 15, 2023 at 3:22 pm #257405And only one automatic promotion place up for grabs. We’re doomed, doomed I say…
March 15, 2023 at 4:54 pm #257421Has to be 9 from 9. We have to go 442 and 2 wingers to feed the 2 strikers who must work 5 / 6 metres apart.
There must be minimal changes game to game and someone who has a clue does the substitutions. No set ups to deal with opponents. We set up and they have to cope with us.
March 15, 2023 at 5:27 pm #257423Playing trinity next season?

That’s the first win in the bag.
Let’s go and steal those shiny three points from the Magpies tomorrow.By Jove, an unexpected win at County and I think we will go on to stay up!
UTIMarch 24, 2023 at 11:24 am #257853Mathematically we can still stay in NL. If our last game is anything to go by, we just might do it. A drop into NLN would be a disaster, even compared to the standards we have seen in the last few years.
We really can’t afford to be stuck in that league. I hope this new regime understands how much of a tragedy that would be.
UTBI – Always
March 24, 2023 at 2:31 pm #257863I’m a lot more optimistic than most on here by the sounds of it. Played really well last time out and have a relatively easy run in, if we win those easier games and pick up another win, we may be safe.
You just never know. I was one for changing the formation but how can you ask for change after the last match in which we won 4-1 ?. Now we have 2 proper wide players and a good solid target man, the formation Dean’s choosing to play actually works.
Shocking I know but it does.
Fancy that !
March 24, 2023 at 3:24 pm #257866The goalkeeper situation is what worries me. Without Chapman we are left to rely on an inexperienced young keeper who is, let’s say, somewhat leaky.
I am usually a glass half full person, so on this occasion I hope I’m wrong…

6 of 9 !
3 defeats and 1 win from the first four games.
Leaves us with 5 of 5!
Five MUST (!) WIN games left!
