Still better to try and win rather than trying not to lose, Les NI, if only scunny had tried the same over the past 3 seasons, In Stokes we trust well at least till it goes totally wrong.
August 8, 2023 at 10:41 am #268747New vacancy, well bloody loads really.
Now advertising for a company to take over the catering and bars at the club.
Basically he’s finished all the staff.
Situations vacant now include.
Chefs,
Waitresses,
Bar staff,
Refreshment point staff,And that’s 4 days before our first home game!
August 8, 2023 at 10:48 am #268748So what’s the alternative?
Muddle on without? Get Patrick to drive up from Ilkeston with his burger van?
August 8, 2023 at 10:49 am #268749First the Buses for away games stopped being run by the Club.
Now the Catering.
Had an advert out for a Chef for the last week !
Now getting rid of the Catering etc.
Surely they had all summer to sort things like this out !
What the hell is going on .
Does nt seem to be any plan and changing direction daily !August 8, 2023 at 10:55 am #268750If you were the owner of a catering company, would you tender for a contract at a stadium where the owner is currently awaiting a court case to evict the person advertising for squatting in said stadium?
I can’t believe Hilton is advertising.August 8, 2023 at 10:58 am #268751NI, it’s not beetlejuice. Say his name in vain once, and he appears. Lord have mercy on us.
August 8, 2023 at 11:02 am #268752You hit the nail on the head there snot .. what businessperson in there right mind would submit a tender in the current uncertainty hanging over the club/GP.. beggars belief DH and the recruiting dept thinks otherwise.. bonkers!! .. saying that prospective new directors lined up out of Jack Brownsword Way by all accounts.
August 8, 2023 at 11:14 am #268754A few months ago the club were paying more for non playing staff than players now they won’t be that’s got to be good for the club going forward, they’ve e got to be sustainable just what many have wanted in the past. Not me though, but imo he’s at least doing it in the right place.

It’ll not make any money but think of all the hassle saved.August 8, 2023 at 12:45 pm #268767Does this look like the actions of a man who is committed to growing both the top and bottom line? I don’t think so.
This screams short-termism and cashflow. In normal circumstances, such an arrangement would see the new provider paying an upfront advance to a club to secure the deal. Well I suppose they can ask, but I know what my answer would be.
Only the stupid need tender!
August 8, 2023 at 2:40 pm #268773He working to a sustainable future and this site holds mega debates on catering. Perhaps attending you would see we need to move forward
August 8, 2023 at 2:44 pm #268774Its not too sustainable if you have no cash processing staff or card facilities even in if you get credit to buy stuff to sell
August 8, 2023 at 2:45 pm #268775Got your tender in then
August 8, 2023 at 2:48 pm #268776I wouldn’t go anywhere near a business involving White,Dave,Hilton etc

How will leasing out one of the matchday revenue streams increase income and net profits? I will give you a clue, it won’t.
Given the eleventh hour publicity and with rumours of a potential cap on attendees, one might argue a timely scheme.

August 8, 2023 at 3:08 pm #268778I did mention sub contracting the clubs catering on another thread recently .. i just see it as DH thinking its one less thing to have to operate.
Good luck to anyone putting in a tender sounds like buying a whole lot of headache n bother with a risk to make very little profit if any at all. There could of course be a perfectly legitimate reason for binning the commercial staff and others and really its pure guesswork with all the shit thats going around at the moment, one rumor is barely put to bed before another one starts.. footballs answer to Coronation Street.

It’ll not make any money but think of all the hassle saved.Should stop complaints about the food, unless everyone else is shite at making sandwiches too.

August 9, 2023 at 9:22 am #268814DESPERATELY NEEDED, people to wear a yellow hi-viz jacket on Saturday, minimum wage but free entry to the stadium, although most of the time you’ll be facing away from the play on the pitch.

What is the minimum hourly wage nowadays ?
How many hours on match days?
Can you stand side ways to watch the game out of one eye ?
Would you have to declare it therefore effecting any benefits ?
Any travel expenses paid , food and beverages included?
Any chance of being paid before you start in case of any miss understandings or banking delays.
Asking for a friend
August 9, 2023 at 10:28 am #268820A mixture of Yes and No to your questions, unfortunately I don’t know in which order they go, I suspect nobody at the club does either.

Another one leaves the good ship SUFC.
Are the revised roles now part time or still full time?
Obviously the new salaries will have been slashed to save money.
SUFC never paid well.
What calibre of employee will we attract now?
Sentiments and club affinity doesn’t pay the mortgage.August 9, 2023 at 7:12 pm #268847Smoking goat the new catering provider’s. Guess there happy with how things are going.

For the second time in a matter of months there is a vacancy for a club accountant.Even the one from SUFG won’t do it!
August 20, 2023 at 7:35 pm #269899What happened to the previous accountant? I thought the club were using Dave’s Ilkeston Town accountant a while back? Seems like a high turnover of staff going on.
August 20, 2023 at 7:54 pm #269904Changing accts regularly is not good news. Have they found something that they are not happy with?
