Should have rolled with Nelson until the end of the season.
    Then reassess.

Trust you awaywego. If the abuse is to believed that was shouted at Hilton’s car post match then shame on the fans as that’s out of order. You can not simply tar everybody with the same brush. I know that’s what you like to do but that’s more than a tad unfair.

Until the deal for the club to completely goes through fans will still be worried about our future and naturally won’t really fully trust or believe in Hilton. That’s understandable after what we’ve had with Swann.

The healing process for this club will naturally take time.

You tell me then WG what’s he getting back in return for his money up to now? All I can see is a load of grief I’d much rather he be happy because I know I wouldn’t be with how things are panning out, to have this much negativity on social media and the car incident after 3 months would you honestly want to stick around even if it means Swanny back at the helm for a bit longer, I’d certainly tar you, your sack Dean stance totally out of order yes he’s shite at the moment but at least give him a fair crack of the whip.

We may have to wait to see what comes out in the wash.

On the flip side of that fans “including myself” are hurting, it’s just you get idiots which display it in unsavoury ways but you get that at every club.

In a perfect world he would come here save the club and everything will be ok but the worlds not perfect, including the world of football. I keep saying this but the healing process starts with the full transfer from Swann over to Hilton because then we can all collectively move forward.

I can’t thank Hilton enough for stopping the club completely folding but until the deal is fully completed he hasn’t fully saved everything because as it stands Swann is still in the background like a bad smell. Technically he still owns the assets so there’s no way we were ever going to fully be on board with Hilton until the deal actually gets completed.

All rides on that so I just hope it goes through by May 24th, we clear the decks of uncommitted waster players and get in fresh players who actually want to progress with us. We can all then pull in the same direction without Swann looming over us and a fresh new playing squad.

I know Hilton’s made mistakes but I do actually believe in time that he’ll come good. People will have to be patient though as clearly there’s no quick fix. There is no doubting he’s done a fantastic job at Ilkeston. I saw a picture of their training facilities on line a short while go and their outstanding.

Hilton had that all built and restructured the club from the ground up and they seem to love him from that end so he must have done something right.

Not leaving Michael Nelson in control for the remaining 17 games. But he knows that now.

But I don’t think he realised how detested The EGO is and trust had been reduced to zero. I realise Mr Hilton needs time but he made mistakes – as I said Nelson, he was 1 and then the debacle over the Academy set up and then the U-turn. It was all avoidable if he had spoken to people first and come up with a plan. I mean some coaches found out they were sacked as they drove to Bradford on a sunday morning !

Let’s see what unfurls during the close season and the managerial attitude when the season starts. Because if targeting is in the thought processes from game 1 it will be difficult.

I think all but the most delusional realise that the appointment of Jimmy Dean was a *huge* mistake. He can barely string an articulate sentence together, drops players at a whim, blames players in post-match interviews, and has the tactical genius of a badger playing chess. Nothing about Jimmy Dean makes me think he is the man to turn the failed performances around, and going into next season with him as manager will likely be a waste of a pre-season.

Combine that with how Hilton announced the appointment of Jimmy Dean, the closure of the academy, the numerous U-turns, and worryingly you have someone with a history of making bad decisions. Some might say that the U-turns show he is listening to the fans. Whilst there is truth in that, you must wonder what thought and planning went into those decisions in the first place.

I’ve said this before, Hilton got off to a promising start with the payment of the tax bill, keeping the club afloat, and funding the squad. But since then, things have gone downhill faster than a shopping trolley full of fat kids.

For me, the jury is still deliberating, awaiting the ground purchase, and the publishing of his plans for the club.

One more U-turn needed if he’s still listening.

For me it was an impossible stick-or-twist situation for Hilton.

Even if Nelson had been persisted with there’s no guarantee the club would have avoided relegation after such a disasterclass in the first part of the season. Club goes down, owner castigated for lacking imagination / being too conservative in replacing a failing manager.

I was horrified by Dean’s first interview- scarcely literate to be honest- and did wonder then how he’d inspire the players. Subsequent results have been appalling with one or two exceptions and standards appear to have gone backwards with some of the signings bizarre to say the least.

Will it be harsh if Dean goes- maybe a little, as he’ll rightly argue that he wasn’t given enough time. But my strong feeling is that this guy is totally out of his depth at a full time club, whose credibility, if he ever had any, is totally shot- and if I were the one launching wads of cahs into a black hole I’d maybe be finding soemone who was able to make a bit more of my ‘investment’.

The club needs a total re-set and I’m afraid Dean going and a line being drawn under the utter prugatory of this season needs to be part of that.

No. O’Leary has had numerous chances to manage the might iron and has turned us down. I think it’s time we moved on. O’Leary isn’t worthy !

I think as far as Hilton is concerned, doing the interview after the Torquay game and the subsequent podcast with IronHour because he has put himself well and truly in the spotlight.

Not distancing himself from death threats and sinister twitter posts, especially after his Facebook rant. Unforgivable
