January 7, 2023 at 6:26 pm #252187Yes, interview is on the BBC Radio Humberside sport website. I’m sure someone will put a link up
January 7, 2023 at 7:16 pm #252197I had a little chat with Simon before the game and he said they spoke to someone from Swanns people this morning and feeling positive, I had heard it on the radio going and it is a good listen and will be on their website

January 7, 2023 at 9:09 pm #252203Listened to it. He’s trying to be as polite as possible about Swann to get the deal done which must take some doing, fair play

Good to hear that Mick 👍

January 7, 2023 at 10:10 pm #252208Spoke to him and Ian sharpe after the game both appear to be fully committed to Scunthorpe United and hopefully they will get over the line as they are supporters as well as prospective owners.
Also Fin Shrimpton, Owen foster, cam Wilson and all the other ex academy players have in Scunthorpe in there blood as this is where they started and have the club to thank so they are fully committed to the team.5 users thanked author for this post.
January 7, 2023 at 10:12 pm #252209Still appears Swann wants as much money as possible
Be interesting to know what cropped up during the due diligence process that scuppered the deal at the time… 95% confident of a deal is very confident.
January 7, 2023 at 11:20 pm #252213Stephen Warnock on Wrexham: ‘it shows if you get the right owners, the right philosophy, you can go a long way…’. Amen to that!
January 8, 2023 at 10:13 am #252246A fascinating listen.
Interesting emphasis that PS has not taken a penny out of SUFC.
Good to hear that there are investors around too.
For the first time in a month – I have a tiny tinge of genuine optimism!3 users thanked author for this post.
January 8, 2023 at 11:00 am #252249Agree les, proper diplomacy from Simon, he must have almost bitten through his tongue when referring to the “you know who” in the terms he did but it did raise my spirits listening to the tone of the interview. Good luck Simon hope you and Ian can see it through ASAP. Interesting to hear him refer to the fee for Nuttall as £100,000, wasn’t it reported as undisclosed initially?, makes a change hearing an exact amount for once regarding a transfer fee.
January 8, 2023 at 11:08 am #252252I am sure it warmed Ernest to the core! Can anyone shed some light on this?
I wished I had a ‘pot to piss in’ to make a bid.
January 8, 2023 at 1:42 pm #252272Should be running the club with Ian, hands down.

January 8, 2023 at 1:54 pm #252273I’d like to see them owning the club certainly. As for running it, haven’t we tried that recently?

January 8, 2023 at 5:23 pm #252277It was 100k for Nuttall, but thought it was a bit naughty announcing it
January 8, 2023 at 7:13 pm #252278Was a good interview by Simon. I think the reveal on Nuttall fee was an error but let us move on. He obviously has others in the background supporting this offer, but perhaps at the moment they do not want publicity.
But I am sure we will hear who they are over a period of time just commercially sensitive at this time. The EGO will be trying to get as much as possible as someone hinted his Blackpool Project may not be straighforward.
January 8, 2023 at 8:18 pm #252280Before Ian & Simon got together didn’t Ian have another partner?
January 8, 2023 at 10:17 pm #252287Jason Maza he was there yesterday as well

You been to the docs with a bad throat les 🤔
January 9, 2023 at 11:42 am #252308No, but the torn muscle across the right shoulder blade makes me say ‘aaaagh!’ – and worse.
A propos of nothing – which of our games is on BT sport?January 9, 2023 at 12:32 pm #252312Halifax
January 9, 2023 at 1:03 pm #252313Ta!
January 9, 2023 at 1:11 pm #252315I spoke to Simon Elliott, saw Ian Sharpe and there was another bloke with him but don’t know what Jason Maza looks like.

However, if it all goes pear shaped then a Phoenix Club ran by Mr S & Mr E would be optimal.
April 4, 2023 at 5:23 pm #258918Haven’t heard the bbc clip yet but after reading all these comments this is the most optimistic I have been for over a month.
