If alarm bells weren’t ringing before, they are now.

How long will Neil Wright last?

Home fans handcuffed by stewards, one decent bloke on the board (Neil aside) resigns. It really is very worrying for the future of this club

Why are people so shocked by someone committing a criminal offence being handcuffed? He leaped over the perimeter wall to attack a steward!

This is the biggest clue yet to the already obvious pointers out there re disarray of club finances. We’ll be lucky to field a team come August.

Normally I’d argue the point about away fans but its not even the biggest news of the night. It didn’t appear he was attacking a steward but I wasn’t close enough to determine

Very bad news Simon has resigned, I do really hope his very savvy advice to the board was fully accepted and his resignation is unrelated to this…

Again what is going on at out club? I think we deserve answers. Will Hill be next to go? Will the club even play another game after this season? Really worrying times that were totally avoidable.

    I’d speculate he jumped.

There’s only so much crap anyone can take, no matter how committed you are to the ‘project’.

I suspect he has discovered over the last few months with grim clarity just what kind of comedy show our glorious leader is running down there.

    Don’t blame the guy.

I don’t think it will come out in the wash.

I can’t see SE engaging in a public slanging match and our glorious leader is unlikely to want to detail the events of what seems to be yet another sorry chapter in a story that is becoming a tragedy of epic proportions.

The rather cold reference to ‘current regime’ tells you all you need to know I think. He’s made his feelings pretty clear without resorting to mud slinging.

How can anyone still listen to and accept the total bull S**te that comes out of our owners mouth… totally my opinion but one I am absolutely certain about!!

He’s taking the football club to the brink of non-existence while being allowed to book in interviews with Matt & Humberside to tell us it’s all ok and all we need is 3000 fans in the ground each week .

I believe he’s (Swann) Toxic and I know the football club is unrecognisable from 10 years ago… I’m embarrassed by the ground/facilities and match day experience!

The fans need to boycott the final home game! ZERO fans in the ground will make the news and Mr Swann will hate that!! He just wants to sit under the radar wrecking a small towns football league club and we need to show the wider world what he’s done!

Time to make a stand and show everyone what this man is doing!!

Simon’s departure is sad but inevitable. He was beginning to risk his own creditability by defending the Swanns. Thanks for trying.Best wishes for the future. How long before he is followed by the fans’ director?

In my 40 years of supporting the Iron I have never expected to be served up Premier League football, or even Championship football. However I was always proud that despite our small fan base, we could compete with most clubs in League One and League Two.

I really cannot blame Simon. He is an honest man, with honest intentions and a high level of integrity. Him walking away saying “He cannot work with the current regime” tells us all we need to know, and I fear for the clubs future.

I assume the appointment was SE driven (PS never having shown any previous interest in such a move) so it might be just about the shortest appointment in history……appointed on the 22 March, registered at Companies House on the 26 March…..and resigns on the 28 March?!

Well PP if the fans director does leave in a hurry and I sincerely hope he does not, it will be a final cutting of the tenuous link between owner and fans IMO. Let’s be right the atmosphere is already a toxic one, you can read as such in the majority of the posts on this matter on here and fans discussions in the ground. I can’t recall the last time I heard a single word of support for our chairman in the ground and that includes the many elderly fans who chat pre and post match in the East Stand. I’m guessing the younger element behind the goal will be even more vociferous in their opinions. So sorry Simon has felt the need to leave the board but then again a principled person would have no choice really.

A principled person wouldn’t have joined the board, he new with open eyes what he was walking in to, and now says “I feel strongly that I can’t be part of the current regime” he did Swannys biding for him trying to get more of us down there to watch utter dross, lets himself down for not sticking with it.

Unfair awaywego. And given you don’t know the full circumstances that led to his resignation, it’s disrespectful. Maybe he was too optimistic, desperate to help in a tragic situation and didn’t realise just how bad things were until he arrived back and witnessed it himself? You’ve some gall accusing him of letting himself down, I’ll give you that much.

Why would he know what he was walking into?, situations at football clubs as in business change all the time, he would not have joined in he did not feel he could make a positive difference. Simon always comes across as a genuine honest man, can’t say I feel the same about some of the people he’s been associated with IMO.

He could have given us the full circumstances Deerey but he chooses not to, leaving us all to put our own take on it, maybe Peters Promise is more right on his take. Would you have got on board with him Deerey or Ironawe?

I’d imagine some conversations went along these lines:

SE: Peter, why is your son head of recruitment?
PS: Because Coxy really, really wanted him to be, even against my wishes.
SE: Cox isn’t here anymore, perhaps we should look to make a change?
PS: How dare you disrespect my family!!
    SE: Ok byeeee

No he could not because he will have had to sign a confidentiality agreement before joining the board, therefore be can only give us all a brief outline of his reasons for leaving. If we all knew the full goings on about the running of SUFC then I believe there would probably be even less fans attending home games now IMO. Give you head a wobble Awaywego and start living in the real world.

Or maybe he doesn’t want dirty linen to be aired in public? :-) Some people have professionalism as a key principle.
