We’re playing teams from towns that are so small that they don’t have train stations. That can’t have happened for a long time. I think Mansfield was famously the last Football League town to get a station in the early 1990s.

I was thinking the same. I must admit the car will be getting used a lot more this season (as I live away from Scunthorpe).

I wonder if there will be a greater demand in a supporters coach than there was last season?

I was looking forward to the fixtures as much as ever but must admit to being totally underwhelmed once I saw them.

No disrespect to the NLN teams but it brings it home how far and fast we have fallen.

Sulk over. Let’s get on and win this here league. For the first time in my 60 years of support we are the big cheese instead of being little Scunny. Instead of opposition managers fearing the sack when we beat them it will be Jimmy fearing the worst when we lose a game.

Hope Jimmy and the squad can deal with having a target on their backs.

Be interesting to see how the away support holds up this season, especially if we get off to a slow start.

I have a feeling we won’t be particularly popular visitors at a lot of away grounds, sometimes outnumbering the home support, possibly seeing alcohol sales banned for our games and segregation introduced at grounds where there wouldn’t usually be any. I hope our fans don’t embarrass the name of our club – it’s suffered enough in the last decade!

Fans won’t embarrass the club, arseholes will, was it ever thus. I will put my tin hat on and await the Awaywego response. 😂

I appreciate the sentiment and kind of agree with it but if those arseholes have SUFC badges on, then they represent the club whether we like it or not.

A friend knows Tamworth well and suggests that theirs are arguably the most hostile fans in that division.
Perhaps there’ll be a strong police presence in case the Iron fans outnumber them.
I really don’t want our brief sojourn in that division to start with a powder keg.

I would expect plenty of pitch invasions this season ( will be a poor season if there isn’t) some of the young lads haven’t seen a winning team so likely to be more than boisterous, expect fans without tickets forcing there way in some of the tinpot grounds that don’t even have turnstiles South shields being one, non of them in my eyes will be arseholes as Ironawe says, I’d rather have them than any of the stiffs in the East stand, I would imagine most clubs will appreciate our support and the revenue our fans will bring to the club and towns, the country’s finest should also expect a fair bit of overtime everyone’s a winner.

Saw there was a bit of ‘banter’ on social media yesterday. A Tamworth fan did say they are used to having big fan bases at their place in the past so the club and authorities are used to managing it. 🤞
