Where is he, he seems to have disappeared the last few weeks.

He’ll be horsing around somewhere.
June 24, 2021 at 6:51 pm #209200We haven’t been told that current contracts run up to the 30th of June – yet.
We haven’t been told that the requisite signings are on holiday at present.
We haven’t been told … anything.
The communication with the fans is now worse than it has ever been – and that is saying rather a lot, innit?Do they even want to sell season tickets?

June 24, 2021 at 6:57 pm #209201It’s to do with confidentiality Les, UTI99 said so!
June 24, 2021 at 6:59 pm #209202Ah. Thanks, mate!
June 24, 2021 at 7:18 pm #209205And Amazon Prime Day ended yesterday and still nobody.

June 25, 2021 at 11:33 am #209227Nice to know the communication between the club and the fans has been restored.
Can he not even really be arsed anymore to bother ?

Topics: 11Do you really need the club to come out and state the obvious every pre season?
Would it make you feel better if they released a statement saying “we are looking to sign players”?
June 25, 2021 at 12:00 pm #209229Actually, yes

June 25, 2021 at 12:10 pm #209230Had there been a little more evidence …
Last day of May?I shall be quite happy to be content if some evidence is forthcoming that we are not getting leftovers or League One juniors on loan.
The budget can be adequate if intelligently used. I know a phenomenal amount about low budgets. I used to run a highly successful enterprise on a shoestring and was more successful than those with budgets six times greater. Fine details available to anyone but only if speaking face to face, in private. (And no, it was not cocaine importation or similar before some wit decides to suggest it.)

Would it make you feel better if they released a statement saying “we are looking to sign players”?Not necessarily the obvious but something would be nice. The chairman announced that the squad would be in place by the end of May. The reason that didn’t happen isn’t obvious but an explanation why it didn’t happen would be of interest to supporters don’t you think?

June 25, 2021 at 1:12 pm #209232What is the point these days of any statement from Mr Swann !

June 25, 2021 at 1:12 pm #209233You don’t think it was just a silly slip of the tongue – and he actually meant June?
Could it really be that simple? After all, it did seem wholly improbable at the time.
Embarrassing to admit if that were the case – but would surely have been the best option.June 25, 2021 at 1:17 pm #209234Swann has made it abundantly clear that we are likely to have the smallest budget in League Two. I do not expect anything in the way of signings that will wet the appetite and bring back the feel good feeling of old.
Forget shopping at Aldi, we are now searching through the bins at the back of the store for freebies!!!!
There’s no coincidence that the only player we have brought in is on a one year deal…Swann is planning for a likely relegation, and doesn’t want to be stuck with a squad of players on League Two wages with two year deals.
If things stay as they are, my prediction for next season is a swift relegation!

June 25, 2021 at 1:27 pm #209237Of course it’s relegation next season, family jewels stashed away in the Coolsilk locker, no budget, no squad, no interest. Being successful on the field isn’t part of the bigger picture and hasn’t been for several seasons now.

Out of interest, do you think the club is doing enough to generate interest among its fans (customers) at this crucial time? There’s arguably never been a more important pre-season for this club, when you combine the twin threat of near-relegation to the Conference last season with the fact that no one has been to a game for 15 months.

June 25, 2021 at 2:56 pm #209240I don’t believe the club is doing enough to show the fans we are not going to have another season like the last one which was abysmal, where are the rallying calls to encourage us to buy season tickets, the new players to galvanise the fans into thinking things will be better, most other clubs in league 2 are saying and doing the right things,I think this is a very worrying time to be a scunny fan,I hope I’m wrong but it’s not looking good, most seasons you have that optimism, but I’m afraid for alot of fans it’s gone.

June 25, 2021 at 3:17 pm #209242The SUFC official newsletter than just landed in my inbox is pathetic.
Season tickets are now on sale. Really?
Next season’s fixtures in full. Yeah they were automatically synced to my iPhone yesterday!
Anything on our new signing? No!
Anything on future signings? No!
Anything on league debutants Sutton United? No!
Anything on the new kits? Ha ha ha!

June 25, 2021 at 3:35 pm #209243….and don’t forget NI all this under the Chairmanship of the man who stated that the previous owner had been running the club ” as a hobby “. Don’t remember the club being £11million in debt and not owning its own ground under the previous owner, just remember several promotions, a few trips to Wembley and three seasons in the Championship. Not bad for an old fella running the club as a hobby, you paying attention Prawn?

June 25, 2021 at 3:50 pm #209245I don’t think I’ve ever felt as disheartened and dejected about all things Scunthorpe United as I do right now.
Our future looks very bleak, and the only recruitment drive I see coming out of Scunthorpe is for match day catering staff! The way things are going we won’t need them as we’ll have less fans than Wealdstone.
Sad times indeed…

June 25, 2021 at 4:12 pm #209248With clubs in our division having already made up to nine signings – and who have not seen anything like 19 departures – what must we think?
June 25, 2021 at 5:09 pm #209253You don’t think it was just a silly slip of the tongue – and he actually meant June?
Very generous les, if indeed it was a slip of the tongue then we’ve still got almost another week. ( Well 3 days if you discount the weekend ) Or could it be the end of July he meant?
June 25, 2021 at 5:39 pm #209254I think that Ernest will do 1 of 2 things :-
A) Act in an incompetent manner, pretend that covid is the root cause of everything and continue to tell everyone that we are a well run club.
B)Stun all the non believers by announcing a plethora of mouth watering signings all on the same day.
What do you think?June 25, 2021 at 5:43 pm #209255I hear we are going to have the lowest budget in the division.
June 25, 2021 at 5:47 pm #209256do you think this squad is good enough in league 2.
Watson, Collins, Taft, Onariase, Rowe, O’Malley, Baker, Hyppolyte, Hallam, Spence, Beestin, Pugh, Shrimpton, Wilson, Gallimore, Loft, Green, Jarvis, Dunnwald-Turan, Jessop, Kenyon.
June 25, 2021 at 5:53 pm #209257The squad isn’t good enough for NL north

June 25, 2021 at 6:39 pm #209258I would say there are 8 worthy of a 16 man L2 squad. I am giving Kenyon the benefit of the doubt as I don’t remember him from our Morecambe games.
Given O’Malley and Rowe had decent break through seasons from the youths we can optimistically hope for two more to come through that route.
I don’t see any of last seasons failed signings suddenly coming good so by my reckoning we need minimum six L2 proven signings to stand a chance of remaining a League club.
Our first game is two weeks tomorrow so it’s time to get a wriggle on Peter and Neil.
June 25, 2021 at 6:56 pm #209259Its looks obvious,it seems our chairman wants to see the demise of sUFC so he can develop the land into a housing estate.I hope I am wrong

June 25, 2021 at 7:01 pm #209260o you think this squad is good enough in league 2.

Seen as that squad consists of Hippolyte, Turan and Jarvis. What do you think ?
Shrimpton, wilson, Galimore, collins and Baker are untried kids and Pugh even though he’s been here a while has hardly had a sniff.
Watson couldn’t catch a cold. Squad has some talent but on the whole it’s absolutely shocking.
