Lad served his time. Give him a chance Rene. Not like he’s a serial fraudster with a shed load of other names.
February 13, 2024 at 5:12 pm #281005Have you never made a mistake? Give the lad a chance. People with far worse to their name have had decent careers in football given the opportunity. He’s no Hilton after all.
February 13, 2024 at 6:55 pm #281008He’s not for me as he looks lightweight and has no experience.
Hopefully the three people injured made a full recovery.
Let’s remember that there is no such thing as a victimless crime.
February 13, 2024 at 7:46 pm #281010Hilton committed fraud and he’s the devil incarnate Flynn seriously injured 3 and we must give him a second chance some of you do make me smile ffs.
Not drink driving Deerey he was high on laughing gas. When it comes to sentencing what a big difference it make between killing someone and only seriously injuring someone, believe me I know grandson got stabbed initial charge attempted murder the youth in question still not properly charged at best now wounding with intent, also depends who you are, knife a school teacher you’ll probably be remanded, knife another youth and you’ll get bail more than likely, makes you think doesn’t it.
Anyway I welcome Flynn I hope you’ve turned a corner and hope we can all get behind you.
February 13, 2024 at 7:56 pm #281011Yeah, and Hilton continued behaving shady afterwards, like a con man.
One difference between Hilton and Flynn is that Hilton was involved in owning companies with stakeholders (both staff and fans) caring for it. Someone with a checkered past going back to a career which could allow him to continue should have raised alarm bells. Flynn’s history of dangerous driving would raise alarm bells if he was going for a job as a lorry driver, taxi driver or courier. As he is going for a job as footballer, I suspect we can sleep easier because he doesn’t need to drive professionally for it, unless we’re planning on him playing on the wing in a flash Range Rover.
Also, you speak of fraud as if it is some minor crime. It isn’t. It’s a crime that ruins people.

February 13, 2024 at 8:15 pm #281013Flynn must have something to offer as he’s been training with us for 2 weeks. They would have seen plenty of him. Let’s give him a chance. I see the usual suspects have written him off already.
I would have thought a creative wide player to help cover the loss of Smith and Roberts and would have been more important than another CM player but he’s here now so we’ll see.
We need another striker through the door A.S.A.P
February 13, 2024 at 8:26 pm #281014Not a lot of chance of that he’s got a 30 month driving ban as well, and was talking specifically about Hilton and Flynn on the fraud v dangerous driving, like you say fraud can lead to ruining people’s lives and wasn’t ment to trivialize it.
February 13, 2024 at 8:32 pm #281017I have an idea, why don’t people just leave what he did in the past and focus on the here and now and what he can do for us to help gain promotion.
February 13, 2024 at 8:33 pm #281018it will never be in the past he can only learn and do his job ,like Matt Sparrow did. He earned our respect again

February 14, 2024 at 7:08 am #281031WG, DSF is looking one of our better players.
BTW, any recent reports on Law and Roberts?February 14, 2024 at 10:45 am #281035Thursday will prove interesting.
February 14, 2024 at 11:58 am #281036Wasn’t even an offence to use it when he had his accident Deerey.
February 14, 2024 at 1:11 pm #281045Maybe not but pretty bloody stoopid.
February 14, 2024 at 2:15 pm #281047WG, DSF is looking one of our better players.
BTW, any recent reports on Law and Roberts?Law is back any time soon as his recovery for his toe is nearly done but Roberts is out till near the end of the season. The time it’s going to take him to get up to speed, he’ll probably make the odd cameo off the bench.
I like Roberts but he’s held together with duct tape.
February 15, 2024 at 5:21 am #281055Revolving doors at the Attis today.
February 15, 2024 at 7:52 am #281057My breath is bated.
February 15, 2024 at 9:51 am #281059Needs to be revolving door as this lot aren’t taking us up. Had their chance and bottled it, along with Jimmy too.
February 15, 2024 at 11:38 am #281061Let’s remember that there is no such thing as a victimless crime.
Let’s not. Many crimes are victimless, from begging to assisted suicide. If Sainsbury’s sells me a case of San Miguel at 09.55 on a Sunday, they’re breaking the law. And the victim is????
Many laws which make harmless behaviour illegal are simply based on opinions about morality, and petty, small-minded, religiously informed opinions at that.
Some on here are so quick to moralise about a footballer’s past and question his present, while cheerleading for some of the biggest political criminals around.

February 15, 2024 at 2:01 pm #281071Can’t say, I promised. Just oiling the door now.
February 15, 2024 at 2:05 pm #281072I’ve just realised after looking on twitter, all these supposed in the know people is pretty much a piss take started by the somewhat famous Matt Ellis wide eye emoji.
Damn you !
February 15, 2024 at 2:13 pm #281073Attacking player coming in. Released from a League 2 club so will be free transfer. By no means prolific but has scored at a higher level.

Do you remember the Eddie Murphy film; Trading Places.
Many ‘beggars’ have homes and indeed cars that they own!Assisted Suicide is legal in some countries – we’ve all heard of Dignitas?
“including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, parts of the United States and all six states of Australia.
The constitutional courts of Colombia, Germany and Italy legalized assisted suicide, but their governments have not legislated or regulated the practice yet.”
It’ll be legal in the UK in the not so distant future.

February 15, 2024 at 4:59 pm #281095Welcome along Liam. UTWI
I’m surprised Max hasn’t posted a completely unnecessary Partridgesque Tweet / X about the lad’s shortcomings and attributes. One that really makes him feel welcome. Again.
Then closed it for comments.
February 15, 2024 at 5:11 pm #281097Every new player deserves his chance and the fan base will get behind him and hope he does well, good luck Liam.
